    Blyskawica in the Premium Shop

IRL it was all too possible, it was called concussion damage. Near misses could shake the machinery so badly that piping broke and shafts misaligned. If it's the case, it seems to have been introduced quite recently, I didn't notice that before.

How many ship classes do you play?

All except carriers. I love gunnery and a flattop is never going to give me the same thrill.

    Błyskawica

I knew she was coming and didn't get neither the Fujin nor the Nikolai in order to have a few quids to get her. After a very few battles, my first impression is quite positive. She's like a Tribal class with 1 less gun and 1 more torp. Good speed, but sluggish on the rudder due to size. Also the size makes her a very big and easy target and that's a major fault for a DD. Good artillery, 8 kms torps. Having some experience with both the Hatsuharu and the Mahan I can't perceive a definite superiority of the Bliskawica over them. As I said, she's huge and easy to hit and I'm afraid a Kiev could litterally tear her apart (I haven't met one yet). But she's a fine looking ship and, as a Premium, a fine credit earner.

    Your favourite stereotype

Captain Tanker The one believing he's still driving a T 34-85 from WoT and keeps backing up behind an Island, then slowly putting his bow out, then again backing up. This is what deserves to be called a landlubber. Captain RageQuit A great classic. No description needed. Captain Tegetthoff My personal naming for the already mentioned tunnel-visioned guy ramming you at full speed. "Steady she goes Toni, we shall sink'em!" Captain Farragut Again, my current name for the guys charging and suiciding in the middle slot of the map, be it Two Brothers or Solomon. "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" Edit: I forgot Captain AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Forgets to turn down the chat window and types strings of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. You'd believe he's screaming for help.

    Team Killer on purpose

Perhaps if someone had obliterated his trash can after the first sinking... That's what I would do anyway, even if I'd have to pay for the damage. Sinking an idiot is worth it.

    Why zone is a Fail?

The idea of sticking together in one big battle group is too complex for the average player. You'll always find the one who goes to A when you just asked in chat "Stick together and go to C", taking other ships with him and spoiling the cohesion of the group. Thus, I'm not in favor of game modes imposing any kind of pre-defined tactic.
  7. I find low to mid tier cruisers the easiest ships, but I can't say they are the ones requiring less skill. Skill-wise I find all types very well balanced. Perhaps carriers are the most skill intensive type as a carrier skipper has to consider a bit more issues (TB and DB attack, air superiority, ship positioning, overall tactical situation) than the others, and has to manage multiple units at the same time.

The constant verbal diarrhoea in the game.

TBH, for each verbal clash I had ingame, I have had an equal number of positive interactions, say, I type "nice duel" to the guy who just killed me or that I just killed and he thanks me for that. Anyway I usually try to ignore the "noob team" self-appointed admirals. I can remember only two very harsh clashes and both were at lower tiers with noobs venting their inanity. On one occasion I even quit the firing to ask the other team to report the maggot. For my part, I refrain from insults but there are times when the sarcastic remark just evade from my fingers.

    V Gnevny 53-38 Torpedoes

Gnevny is a gunboat with back up torps, basically. I can get good scores by staying with the fleet, protecting them from enemy destroyers and shooting at CAs from maximum range, where I have time to evade incoming fire. Later in the battle I may go chase straddlers or ambush BBs. I am quite satisfied with this setup. Just don't charge alone or fiddle with CAs at less than 9 km. Back on topic, I heard they were reconsidering the torps but I see they're still the same, so I'm not going to upgrade them until I have credits to waste.

    Soviet destroyers suck!

Had a little fun with the Gnevny I do admit that I survived with a 200 hp left and didn't die only because the enemy outblundered me, tough.

    German Destroyers

Yes, I stood corrected. I'm not that expert in Zerstorern, my favorite domain is Italian DDs... I'm frankly not anticipating the 150 mm armed ships. I think their RoF will put them at disadvantage against conventional DDs, altough they should have greater firing range. What I expect to be most fun are the late war designs with DP 128 mm guns.

    Dutch fleed

Be hopeful, WG will bring out the Bliskawica and I wonder how many of you knew that Poland actually had a Navy (yes I know, Poland has a big player base, but still...). So, I don't see why they won't release a Dutch ship someday, expecially if they include the J class in the RN tech tree (Van Galen would only need some minor changes). Personally, I'd love to have an Admiralen class destroyer.

    German Destroyers

Correct, the big Zerstorern from 1939 A class onward had 150 mm guns. Otherwise, if like in RL they should have noteworthy guns and reasonably good torps, but mediocre AA. A kind of compromise between US and Soviet DDs. But I'm thinking about WW II ships. WW I German destroyers were more torps-oriented. They usually had small caliber fast firing guns and low silhouettes. They should make for good low tier ships, low detectability, good torps but faster firing guns than the Japs. Edit: wrong class for first use of 150 mm guns; I said 1936 mob, it was 1936 A...
  14. Oh, well. Seems like I'll get back to my translation of "Japanese destroyer captain" then... Thanks WG for helping me improving my output.
  15. Hear, hear! Luckily I was just started with a Tachibana, so I won't have to pay the bill of a T VII when I come back...

    German Destroyers

Too modern for current tier X. This could be considered if WG decides to open tier XI and XII with postwar ships.

    Should I skip the Colorado?

I like her. I've been using her stock so far, just with some modules and capt perks, but her artillery is powerful and she's a small target. Even if CA can hurt her really bad, so far I feel safer than when playing in Nagato. I know that not every major caliber shell hitting me won't necessarily deal 10k damage and I know that my shells won't always overpen. Of course you have to stay with the fleet and not go in YOLO mode.

    Matchmaking completely broken AGAIN?!

Had some occasions when a uniform T III division found its way into a mostly T V battle. Kind of frustrating for all the players involved apart from the guys of the red squad. I now MM considers a division stronger than her proper tier because of the coordination (but then sometimes the division mates are set miles apart by the spawn), but the MM should also consider the quantum leap between lower and middle tiers.

    Imperator Nicholas I

I think this must be the armor covering the ends of the hull fore and aft the main belt; the table says that her citadel (main belt) has 300 mm.

Anyone else think RU destroyers are most fun?

Some minutes ago I informally teamed up with a Kiev on a domination battle with an otherwise mediocre team (I was in my Mahan) and he almost won the battle alone. We recapped two lost caps and while I distracted enemy cruisers he kept pumping shells into them. Those 130 mm guns are really powerful if they can work undisturbed.

    Fan made Italian tech tree

Duca degli Abruzzi should reasonably sit at tier VII, she was designed to be impervious to 8" fire and I expect the devs to know and implement this.

    Suggestion about report

Sometimes teamkilling is totally unintentional; usually, it's when someone tunnel-visioning steers into the torps you've launched. For this reason even a few days ban would be excessive. Yet I would be curious to know what happens to a player receiving a consistent number of "plays poorly" reports.

    Imperator Nicholas I

I won't buy it even if I'm quite interested and I could use both doubloons and flags, 'cause it hurts too much to buy those bundles too often and I'm saving up for future ships I may want into my collection at all costs. For the same reason I let go the Tirpitz, the Warspite and the Fujin. Actually, if those 3 ships had been sold alone, I could have purchased them. That would have meant 3 more different ships in game, thus more diversity, more interesting battles (down with the endless lists of Clevelands), more presence in different tiers. In the end, if I only buy one ship per season because of the bundles, WG will receive from me the same amount of cash that I would have spent on 3 or 4 different single ships. With the bundle policy they make me feel unsatisfied, they look greedy, and they're dulling the game.

    Kuma Tier IV Cruiser

I had my sinkings record (7 ships in one battle) in my Kuma. Her high ROF makes her a beast if properly skipped. Yet, all in all I preferred the Tenryu: less conspicuous target, more agile, more torps per broadside. I wouldn't mind having a late war Isuzu one day to try.
  25. Cosseria

    Tachibana

That's it. It's an american DD with a japanese skin. Don't rush in YOLO mode, set up ambushes or wait for your target to be distracted by other ships. It's not meant to be superior to a regular T II destroyer, just different.
