Kuma upgrades and IJN cruisers captain skills

Isn't it risky to ignore the ship survivability sector? I personally would have chosen High Alert for T 3 perks...

4th row Atago commander skill advice.

I went for Advanced Firing Training personally. It boosts the AA fire to a noticeable level. Fire chance seems to me good enough as it is, and Atago's salvoes are already quite powerful. I made this choice because I already tried the Demo Exp on another captain at it didn't seem an effective perk for its cost; I prefer to shoot down more planes and to get more range for my secondaries too.

    Torpedos at Kiev?

I like the idea of submarine rockets so I'll stick with the 70 knotters. Number of torps that get more chances to hit home because of speed will make up for the damage difference.
  4. While I dislike passive players, yesterday I found out how a self-appointed Führer can be infuriating. We were there in Trap, me in my Mahan, the Führer in an Iowa (his name is THE_a neolatin language spelling of the word "governor". Just in case you too have had the displeasure of meeting him). I see the whole darn enemy fleet is going for A, so I shift priorities and go to defend B. The Führer, which is lagging far behind BTW, starts clicking on me without saying nothing. I understand he wants me to act differently but there's not much I could do, I can't charge the enemy 'cause they are hidden by islands and their Atagos would chew me up, so I just wait for them to get into my torps range. After 5 or 6 clickings the Führer finally finds out how to use the chat and tells me I'm a (expletive) coward. I say for no money on Earth I would go to A 'cause there's too many of them. Other insults rain down. Meanwhile he has closed down on me and he's in trouble. I turn to lay a smoke screen for the benefit of both of us and the maggot sends a whole volley into my ship! The Führer dies shortly thereafter, but the damage he inflicted to me has crippled my ship and I follow him shortly thereafter without having been able to launch a single torp. Basically a TK, but thanks to the fact he only took half my HP with his salvo, he won't even figure as such. Battle ends, I get a wonderful - 5000 credit income (my record for the worst so far) and a "Scheiß man" in chat to begin with another row of kind words and wishes. It's perhaps the first time I feel the urge to meet another player in RL to try the Hiza Guruma on him. It got me really furious. That kind of maggots really spoil the atmosphere. Luckily there are a lot of good sports too.

    [SPECULATION] "Project R" Kamikaze.

Actually the Kamikaze class was the DD class preceding the Mutsukis. I know them rather well as I'm building a model of one of them. Indeed they were like Mutsukis but they had 21" torps (or the other way round, Mutsukis were Kamikazes fitted with the new 24" torps).

    Furutaka 4.1

Call me a fool, but I just bought back the Furutaka I free-experienced months ago. It's just that I knew it got buffed and I noticed I had a hard time draining their HP pool with my Murdermansk. Well, I like her. I'm not the top scorer in it but I do like her sturdiness and firepower. A noticeably better ship than it was pre-buff.

We want lower repair costs too!

I have got all my tech trees except the German to T VII and I'm currently buying back some lower tier ships and playing them instead of focusing on a single T VII ship grind to further progress in the tree. Even if I have stacks of cash when I get out of a very poor T VII battle with a negative credit it's so frustrating that it discourages me from grinding to superior tiers. It happens rarely but it will happen more often from T VIII on and I don't want to experience it any more. There are also more issues like capt retraining and neverending grinds which add to my prudent approach. So for now I just wait for something to change and for my teammates to catch up with T VII.

    How many ships

23 and I wish to add more, it's just that dispersing too much will result in crappy games as I can't train all the commanders for the ships I'd love to buy back. I keep ships I was particularly fond of, like Hiei & Fuso, even if I seldom use them. Then I follow the trends, I just bought the Furutaka as I had the impression it became a much more effective and sturdy ship after the patch.

    Why bring kriegmarine?

By the same logic the Alexandriahraid should prove the RN was basically incompetent too, but that's not the point. You seem to be willing to go against all odds in order to sell your axiomatic opinions as facts. We have cited naval historians, all of them more knowledgeable than most of us, who proved you wrong. I generally admire stubborness but not if it goes against common sense. You are free to follow your religion saying the RM was crap, but please don't try to convince others. The war is long gone, it's time to look back at it with impartiality.

Submarine are so damn fun now that i've tried them

I played all the Silent Hunter serie except for the V and Destroyer Command too, but I don't know if I would like to have subs added to WoWs. They lack the mobility to have a role in our battles and will make matters even worse for BBs and CVs. Besides, WoWs with subs it's just going to be a different game, like if they added Shturmoviks and Stukas to WoT. In my opinion, subs could be part of a kind of WoWs "expansion" focused on convoy war, where you could choose to command either a DD, a sub or, why not, a surface raider, and you would have to escort or attack a convoy of AI merchantmen. But still, the battles should be much longer than the usual WoWs' 15 minutes, and the skill needed to command a sub or to hunt it while in a DD is quite higher to what's currently necessary to the average WoWs player.

    Pensacoola Dissatisfying ship

Pensacola's sister ship, the survivor of Komandorsky Islands. I like to call my ships in a different way, it just sounds much better than the stock name.

More fun at T5 and below?

I like both of them. At high tiers you are supposed to have veteran players and can expect better cordination, also the chat is much less toxic in general, but repairs loom, I tend to feel more tense and for that matter the "fun" side goes a bit down the drain sometimes. At lower tiers it's the opposite on every issue, but yet again, you can end into very inexperienced "teams" that will give you worlds of frustration if you care about the style and the statistics, you can easily find the occasional frustrated noob who will insult you all game long, and there are those unbearable maps called straits and the solomons, where either you do nothing or you choose to die.

    Pensacoola Dissatisfying ship

Sound advice indeed, I have incoming fire on my Salt Lake City and it has saved me on multiple occasions. Also don't rush forward at the beginning, this ship isn't up to it. Generally speaking I like my fully upgraded SLC. Good speed, good artillery (better than Myoko IMO) and powerful AA. Detectability is not an issue for me. Her only real fault is the lack of armor which leaves you a bit naked on the battlefield and forces a prudent approach.

    Why bring kriegmarine?

Simply put, I still don't see what you are trying to prove and what's your aim.

    Why bring kriegmarine?

Gatt cited the books from Sadkovich (The Italian Navy in World War 2) and Massignani and Green (The naval war in the Mediterranean 1940 - 1943). I'd also add Mussolini's Navy from Maurizio Brescia.
  16. I have begun to take it much easier lately, while I always fought to the death previously. If I see I'm in a hopeless team, I'm one of the last survivors and defeat is certain, I just find a peaceful corner and wait for the enemy to cap. Did this yesterday when in a zone battle no one apart from me in a BB and a poor destroyer would get into the bloody cap, while the rest of my team was getting killed trying to outflank them. Just said to hell with the amateur Nelsons, got out of cap and let the enemy win, at least I avoided the extreme frustration I get when I'm focused by all the enemies my teammates should have killed.
  17. Cosseria

Are you satisfied with 0.5.1.1 patch ?

I haven't played BBs in a while, except for a horrible Hiei game when I almost got killed by a Konigsberg in a 1-1 duel, but I can't recall if it was pre or post patch. What I can point out, is the extremely annoying iteration of "the enemy is about to win" or "our team is taking the lead" messages toward the ends of the battles. Also in zone mode, the alarm bell constant sound from the moment an enemy fly enters the zone till all of them have been ousted, is very silly, stressful and annoying.

    Nations specifically camouflages

Fine, but the Yellow on Andrea Doria is wrong, it should be a very light grey instead. As far as the researches know, only the destroyer Niccolò Zeno got a camo with some yellow in it (apart from the armored cruiser San Giorgio that, while at Tobruk, got a sand yellow coating). Edit: a more correct interpretation of Doria scheme
  19. Cosseria

    Nations specifically camouflages

Tests were regurarly made by dedicated Navy research groups in order to try the different schemes to be applied and find the most efficacious. Those tests were made either on scale models or on the real units and involved observation and rangefinding in various light conditions. So, camo DID work, otherwise Navies wouldn't have spent that much resources on the issue. Rangefinding and course estimation were made more difficult by dazzle schemes and crews felt safer when on a camouflaged ship. The problem resided in the fact that the best possible camo scheme was adapted to a particular function in a particular light condition. Finding an universal scheme was almost impossible and compromises reducing the functionality of a given scheme had to be adopted.

    [Suggestion] Regarding Teamkillers

I personally think that not having to pay if I sink a teamkiller would be enough. I'm not in favor if bans as I don't want to be banned if someone kamikazes into my torps. But we need to be able to defend ourselves from the idiots sinking teammates just for fun. So, let's introduce 0 penalty for sunken TK. If the guy is scarlet-lettered because he unwillingly sunk a teammate by mistake, no one may touch him and he may redeem himself. If the troll start spamming torps at friendly BBs, I ought to obliterate him without remorse.

    Blyskawica in the Premium Shop

Wicher and Burza were built for the Polish Navy. About the others, China is going to get a tech tree and I'm quite sure the Yukikaze will be inside. However I'm not that adamant about a Polish tech tree, I was just trying to prove that the Capt we're now training on the Blitz could be of some use in the future.

    Blyskawica in the Premium Shop

More Polish ships could be avaiable once the RN and Marine Nationale have been added to the game. Wicher and Burza were Bourrasque class French DDs, then there's Dragon, the D class cruiser, the Garland, G class DD, the Piorun, N class, the Orkan, M class, and finally the Slazak, an Hunt class escort. I don't know how they could turn this into a coherent line but those are all ships that could be developed for the RN/MN and easily transferred to a Polish tree.

    Błyskawica

With today's x3 (and premium...) Even if the exp is almost useless as it only goes into Capt training, it sort of made my day.

about the us dd torpedo "buff"...

In at least two occasions the new torps allowed me to ninjia torp enemy BBs, and in fact on Mahan you get more torps and more chances to hit than on the Hatsuharu. If the enemy then doesn't sail straight on long enough, that's hardly a fault of the mod.

    lets have a positive conversation

I like most of it, when I whine about something is just to point out something I think should be corrected or to warn fellow players. I really enjoy to play in teams with my buddies but what I like more right now is perhaps the future of the game; just imagine how it will be when all scheduled Navies had finally been introduced.
