    Fire damage

    Fire damage... burns for 500 damage a second on battleships. is it just me or does anyone else think that when your on fire in 3 places because of a Cleveland or similar he spam, 1500 damage a second is pretty overpowered. Use damage control you say? Ok, fires are out for around 10 seconds before all the fires are back due to cruiser HE spam. It wouldn't be right for me to just come on here and complain without posing any solutions. As i see it, there are several 1. Scale down fire damage on battleships or make them more resistant to it, this would reduce the average damage taken by fire in a battle with both different ways. 2. Make it so that fire damage scales depending on what shell ignited it. it seems a bit silly that a destroyers 5 inch shell sets a fire that does the same damage as one set by a 15 inch shell. 3. In reality (a concept i am still to get to grips with) battleships had multiple damage control crews just for fire, so you could give the battleships a extra repair crew or two with increased cool down but the ability to put out fires, and ONLY put out fires. For instance have the current damage control crew would be unable to put out fires but still able to fix anything else and have 2 other fire damage control crews which would be able to put out the fires only with a increased cool down over the normal crew, say 1.5x the cool down. This would give a major quality of life buff to battleships and make it much more fun when you come across the infamous american cruiser, the Cleveland. which can set you on fire in 3 places in about 4 salvoes. All in all this would help the battleships be a force to be reckoned with that is capable of doing more than burning to death in the first few minutes and generally being a burden to the team. as at the minute BB captains fear: cruiser HE spam, carrier bourne torp and dive bombers (which can be dealt with by turning, a concept not many battleship captains are familiar with) and destroyer torps, which can also be countered with skill. however, fire cannot be avoided by simply using skill, this means that fire is the only unbalanced factor that battleships have to fight as it cannot be countered by using any degree of skill. Tell me what you think about this, im actually interested to hear about what other think on this topic

    Tier IV carriers

    *sorry forgot to change the title to 'tier IV carriers, a warning of what is to come' and i don't know how to edit the title* The carrier intro at tier 4 is a warning of what is to come, american air superiority and american fighters camping the ijn carriers: American CV-01 Langley: 1 fighter squadron 1 torp squadron 1 dive bomber squadron Japanese carrier, first of the Japanese carriers: 1 fighter squadron 2 torp squadrons Looking at this with no knowledge of the national bonuses seems fair right? HOWEVER! the american air groups consist of 6 aircraft a piece. while the Japanese air groups consist of 4 aircraft a piece, this means that american CV-01 Langley, has 18 aircraft that can fly at any given time, whereas the Japanese only have 12. this leads to the Americans having 12 strike aircraft while the Japanese only have 8, seem fair? i think not. at the way things are currently going, with biased American air superiority load outs and the ability to camp the Japanese carriers so they cant do anything at all that game. IJN carriers are pointless to grind down. its just going to be american air superiority load outs all the way to the top, even stomping you at tier 10 with fancy fighters that will somehow beat even your own IJN fighter load outs. .

    Fire damage

    'You have 4 magical buttons on your keayboard, WASD' Not to be pedantic but you misspelt keyboard (sorry just upsets my OCD). The rudder shift time on battleships is just too long to be able to adjust course, and on the few battleships that can turn the turret traverse is so abysmal you have to wait a full minute to shoot at the enemy again, also to get citadel hits (the bread and butter of battleships) you need to be at about 10km-13km as any more than this results in hitting the superstructure and failing to pen, this is well within range of most cruisers and destroyer torps, the Cleveland puts out 12 HE shells every five seconds and has almost a 100% chance of burning you in one place per volley, this means if the captain has any brains in 15 seconds you will be on fire in two places. a 1 and a half minute cool down on the damage control leads to you taking. (if on fire in only 2 places) 1000x150=15000 damage taken from fire alone, this is a large proportion of the health pool of the battleships at tier 6. and then you can be et on fire again, and again. so this damage may continue until you burn down to no health remaining. In reality battleships had sophisticated anti fire and anti flooding defences, this means that they should take less damage from them anyway as it would be knocking out redundant areas of the ship. flooding should have a hard cap on what should do in the game as well as bulkheads would be closed. in any case fires on battleships should do less damage or go out faster as they can take out most of your health if you have say... just used your damage control to put out fires and stop flooding

    State of Carriers.

    Well a few days ago i re bought my Zuiho to platoon with some lower tier friends. sadly in my first game I came across a fighter heavy Bogue, my poor 4 fighters vs 12. I won every engagement using barrage fire. I was getting used to the new torp spreads (which i think are brilliant and balance out the carrier loads) I would say they are balanced but I may have just been lucky in my last few games. My sentiment, good luck winning fighter engagement with IJN carrier fighters, its possible but hard. the torps bombers I think are balanced with the changes, and the manual dive bomb drop accuracy rewards skill, I personally like the current state of the carriers at the moment.
