I like the under populated games.... i think smaller maps, with smaller teams, and tighter MM rules, could be the answer.

    Why all the compliments?

I see a bb getting pummeled by long range fire, I drop smoke on him. I get a positive karma. 10 min latter I see the same bb in the corner of the map trying to shoot a zig zagging russian dd at 30kms. I call them an idiot. My karma goes back to zero. I once made it to 2 before getting back to zero. I just cant keep my mouth shut, I hate when bbs fight from the edge leaving cls to tank.

    DB's after the last patch

Also jut to clairfy, I'm not saying that all bombs dropped in a single attack hit, but rather that I get hit every attack. It used to be that with a fast zig zagging dd, I almost never got hit by any bombs...skillfully dropped torps yes, but bombs almost never. Now every wave resutls in a hit and fire.

Its a Grateful Dead flag man, how cool is that?!! The smoke coming out of my DD's will have a whole new meaning

    Clash of the Elements Event

The problem here is that the goals you have to achieve are not based on a linear formula - instead they are exponential. So for example yesterday I played about 8 hours and received 100 coins for my effort. Today I also played about 8 hours and only received 35. If I could play another 8 hours tomorrow (can't tomorrow starts my workweek), I'd receive maybe 15 or so. In a week the steep mountain slope will reset and I'll get more reward in the first few hours of play, then I am likely to get the rest of that week combined. In two weeks it will reset again. That means that the harder you work, the less you are rewarded (in relative terms), which is always a bad way to motivate and reward people. It's not too late... WG can admit this reward formula was a mistake and correct it. Make it linear rather than exponential. Please don't let this event be a failure, please make reasonably achievable goals. Alternatively, if you want to keep the effort required the same, then just divide the 300 coins per week evenly. That way the same amount of work per session results in the same amount of reward, instead of easy rewards on day one followed by essentially no reward on the following days of the week.

    Help me understand team scores

    Thanks for the feedback
  7. So I've been playing for a while now, but still feel like there is much I don't know about WoWS. One thing I don't know about is the Clan system. Am I missing out by not joining one? What do they offer? What am I missing? Thanks

    teamkill penalty bullsh1t

its not a big deal... a year ago people seemed to give a crapwhen others were pink... nowadays no one will notice.
  9. I accidentally reported the wrong guy yesterday for bad playing (was trying Kongo that spent the entire battle in the corner of the map and instead reported another kongo that played well). I realized that i had clicked on the wrong Kongo so then went and gave two good reports the the one that I accidentally reported poor. I hope that ended up giving him a net +1. If they only count the first one from the same person then I may have accidentally screwed that guy... sorry dude.

Well I cant spend 8hrs a day for the next three weeks on this, so Ill just play what I can, collect coins, and see what I can buy at the end. Hopefully WG will see some of this feedback and make some adjustments on the price because I'd really like that Kamakazi R.

    T8+ Matches Feedback

Yeah I think that could work too.... as long as the exp per battle remained about the same (the grinds are long enough if you are a collector like me).

    T8+ Matches Feedback

(Sorry spell check is broken) Well that was a mistake it resulted in edge camping and most matches ending in the complete elimination of the other team rather than one team accomplishing the objectives before the other... Taken to the extreme what would be more interesting/fun to play in the long run? battles where victory is only achieved if all the enemy are dead? Or where the objective is mre important than kills? Right now there is a mix, but it sucks when your team is way down on points, but just managed to 3cap, yet you lose because one kill puts the other team over on points.

Will there be a "Submarine" class added

Depth charges would be a fun addition.

Make it more valuable to cap and people will try to cap... its that simple.
  16. I recently got the Minotaur (T10 RN) - Im for the most part doing terrible in it... no matter who else is visibile, as soon as you are spotted you see the target counter go to 8, followed by your immediate melting - even when others are closer to the enemy. On the games when Ive been sucessful its a matter of hiding and peaking around corners for stealth shots. Not much fun to me. Especially since the reverse i the minotaur is agonizingly slow to kick in (stick your nose out of the smoke to spot, and by the time you have reverse momentum again the smoke is gone. I may change my mind once I get used to it, but thats my impression so far. On the positive side, the guns feel like machine guns and once you get used to the arc, they are great for hitting people behind cover. I would gladly trade the torps for HE if I could though (The belfast is much more fun because of this).

    Make Karma more visible

Id rather have an AS CV on my team that knows how to spot, and renders the enemy team's TB's useless than have an equally capable CV player with torps and DB's... but that's just me... anyway I think its absurd to auto report people like that.

Karma is that level V IJN destroyer, right? I think their visibility is fine.

Plea to Wargaming; high tier camping must go.

In the current t10 meta, I'm finind CV's to be very rare... so its kind of a waste to blame snioe camping on them. As i said earlier, the fix is to make caping, and defending caps, worth more. Make it so games are over fast if you ignore the caps and just go for kills. That should cause people to get off the edge of the map.

Imho as a noob potato -- who only recently got into t10 dd play - right now 90% of the focus and reward is on killing and damaging enemy ships. Very little reward goes to support roles like capping, spotting, and smoking your teammates in trouble. I had a battle recently where I got 3 caps, and only 1 torp hit on an enemy ship. Right after the 3rd cap I was spotted by radar (Id vote to remove that before smoke) and one shot by a yamato. My team won, and I was second from the bottom on the final rankings. Imho that is wrong, I should be rewarded more for risking my [edited], hiding behind islands to ninja cap. If WG increased the rewards substantially (3 or 4 times) for capping, assisting in caps, and defending caps, I think it would help get rid of the current sniping from the edges problem. Capping should be worth more than sinking an enemy ship. There are few things in the game that are more fun imho than close quarters combat (on everything other than CV) - WG should be incentivising this by making the rewards for being in close higher than the rewards for sinking the enemy. I watched an enemy Missouri yesterday plow into melee combat in a contested cap area, he took down one bb, 2 ca, and one dd before finally dieing to flood and fire dots... it was glorious... no way that sniping from the edge of the map could ever be that much fun even if he had managed the same kills and lived, and no way that it should be rewarded equally. Hell capping and spotting doesnt even show on the battle summary screen... if capping is not important to WG then just change all the maps to eliminate the caps and turn each battle to "you must eleiminate all of the enemy to win".

    Ranked Battles Season 6

So maybe a little off topic - I was looking at the results of the season, in particular the people who managed to get R10 or better with 80-95% win rate. Are they really that good, or do I smell hacks/cheats? This is a legit question... I am not good enough to ever dream of that. But I also have not seen many players who just totally solo- carried the game on a regular basis. It happens ocassionally, but not frequently and consistently enough to get to R10 or better with a 95% win rate. Are there really legit players who are good enough to do that? Here is an example of what I am talking about: http://wows-numbers.com/player/540386285,GARFlELD_SATAN/
  22. Thanks guys I knew there must be an easier way, b ut kept forgetting to research it. Iirc, you just select the target in map mode by clicking on it, it puts a little "S" symbol above them. But not having to tab out to map is much better.
  23. A little off topic but rather than start a new thread for a short question, I figured I'd just add it here. I tried the Saipan recently with the air superiority load-out (3 fighters and 1 bomber). I had a couple of battles against the Hiryu (spelling?) where on paper my foghters should have dominated. But even on ocassions where i had three squads against one of their fighter squads, the IJN fighters still wrecked mine. I had targeted each of mine to the same squadron of theirs. I had the relevant commander skills to improve dogfighting (including the extra unit skill). Why did this happen?
  24. I tried it on my Scharnhorst (T7 so not really answering your question) for a little while and found that in the few cases when I used it, it could melt dd's. But, im not very good and the times when I needed to pay the most attention to my surroundings (when a dd is in range of your secondaries) the distraction of having to switch to map view to target the dd, probably outweighed the use I got out of the talent. (This is when I learn that there is a way to designate the target without switching to map view.)
