Normally I never post a comment in the forums, but I'm starting to get sick and tired of what CVs are now. They really feel like those OP monsters that even their supposedly natural counters should fear. Today in my Worcester I played against an enemy Hakuryu. I shot down like 65 planes, and the team combined shot down over 100 planes. To my horror the enemy CV kept coming back with full squadrons, only slight being depleted at the very last seconds of the game. This may be fun for the CV, but it's deeply frustrating for all the other ships involved. Even the help from our CV didn't help, the first strikes nearly always made it through to cause huge damage.
I've the Midway myself, and I'm not going to lie, I'm a giant potato in it, but it still doesn't feel fair to other ships. The only thing I'm risking are my planes, other ships risk their HP. My planes infinitely regenerate, their health doesn't. I've been frustrated with both new and old CVs, but at least before the rework they weren't as common, and when their planes are gone they were useless. Especially recently I got more and more frustrated with CVs, and I have even stopped playing my DDs almost entirely. One game a week in them is a lot for me. I'm also starting to move away from BBs, because they are basically sitting ducks if I try to outflank the enemy. After today's game in my Worcester I'm seriously considering to just quit the game altogether. If an AA skills Worcester can't defend itself against an enemy CV even with help, what is the point?
I love the game, I really do, but the way it is now I just don't have fun playing it. It's not that I'm bad at the game. I have a nice winrate of 56%, and my average damage is not bad either. I can get over idiotic teammates, the enemy has them as well usually, and I can play around it. With CVs it's more like I can't do anything against them. If they want me dead, no matter what I do, I will most likely die. If not by his planes, it's by the spotting he gives to his teammates. I won't lie that I'm also on the verge of crying right now. Call me a baby all you want, but I see a game I have loved for a long time going to crap, thanks in large part to the CVs. It hurts. I'm not a particular well known player, but please Wargaming if you read this, do something! If you have read this whole piece of text, thank you whoever you are. If you are someone who has influence in this matter, please spread it, because I know I'm not the only one feeling this way. I will probably pop in once in a while to see what they've changed, but for now I will say goodbye, and thanks for all the fun games! May your recent experiences be better than mine.
