With 50 battles now in the Bayern (and just now unlocked and moving onto the Gneisenau), here are my observations: - Matchmaking - not as bad as you might initially think. Pay attention to the map, and try to stay away from those Bismarcks and their brutal secondaries - but, all those HE spamming cruisers and DDs will give you fits of rage. - Fire - let's address this now. It seems the deck was outfitted with balsa wood, or possibly cedar, because this ship is constantly on fire. Doesn't seem to matter if it is a full salvo of HE, a single shell, or a random spark in the air. Good news though, you'll get a few Dreadnaught awards! - Accuracy - been addressed. Get into brawling range - but even then, be prepared to watch half your shells land short, and the other half sail over the top of enemy ships. But when it hits, it hits hard. - AA - decent enough, and combined with decent maneuverability, you are not an easy target for CVs Overall, I wanted to like this ship, but in the end, I felt every bit of the grind. It wasn't a ship I looked forward to playing and I won't keep it in port.
