Nah, some people would've "hid" and not said what they meant. We're few enough people here, about 1% of the player base, so it's manageable. :-)

Yeah, I've exited behind an island before and had three different salvo's from three different ships hit me dead on. Insta-ganked. One ship, very lucky? Perhaps. Three ships, nope. :-D At least two of those were using. Yes. If the guy using the mod hits and crits continually from max range you ain't making it difficult for him either. Need to steer, veer and adjust speed as much as one can.

In WoT, normally, I can tell within the first 10-30 seconds of the game if the team I am on (myself included) are going to be able to win the game or not. Opening spread and unwillingness to fill gaps tells it all. The times I was wrong we either got extremely lucky, or the other team made the same mistakes and it was the team with fewest mistakes that won. :-)

Ok, I'm going to ask for this thread to have the last few pages moderated.

Does that mean I also got my very own tit? Dang, I'm going to be busy all weekend fondling it then. ;-D

WG has said that they want more control over mods in WoWs, first step is securing their own files and what is next we do not yet know. But they've said they want more control over it, I reckon compared to WoT. There are ways to go about this like certifying with checksums f.ex., it all depends on how far they are willing to go. And what we wish for or thing is possible/not possible does not matter, really. With such a system in place all they need to do is not certify it, and it will not run. And there are other ways as well. He had 116 battles, still a nubbin like the rest of us. I reckon he heard from a previous game, or read somewhere, that cruisers should protect CV and he thought he was doing what was right. If he would have had 6k games under his belt I'd understand better.

More than enough. -
1+ for being honest about it. :-) Good luck with keeping it buttoned up, and wish you have good games!

To have a look at how the WoWs community would look like with XVM one only needs to start the same topic on WoT forums and see how it turns out. Right off the bat anyone opposed is neg-repped to death, which shows how silly it is. Then the verbal abuse ensues, about people with no skill would clearly be opposed to XVM and so on and so forth, ad nauseum. Is of no use until after the battle, unless they got OCD and need to alt-tab to check everyone out. ;-)

Don't know how much you played WoT, or how recent it was, if ever but play a few thousand games there now and then revisit the idea of porting that to WoWs. ;-) Or brows the forums there for a few weeks, and see how it affects the general mood there. Raging will be here/there no matter what, but people stat-pad and warpack their way up to a different colour as well and then call people noobs. There are people who deserver, truly, to be on top but those who do have no interest or need to belittle others on their lack of skill.

No, just no. XVM has made WoT a game of stats, I do not wish that upon the WoWs community at all. And, as pointed out in earlier threads, you can not carry much in WoWs which will make it harder for those going for stats as well making it all a sordid mess.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
krautjaeger replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
This is the best match I've had so far: -
The comment was directed to all parties participating the discussion on the topic you brought up, not just you. Both parties should've exited gracefully, or maintained composure and not gone personal. The flip-side to going public is more people get to know about it, and a lot of players are lazy and think cool I'll give that one a go.

As beta-testers we are responsible for some self-moderating of threads, reminding people of what may not be accepted but it is also our responsibility not to add fuel to any fire. If we see something we take offence to we might state it in such a manner that our opinion is clear. If the discussion proceedes on topic of the current thread it could and should continue if the result adds to or strengthens the discussion and the diversity of it, but none of us should never become personal. No matter how much we disagree with what someone have posted. Beta-testers are infact held to a higher standard when participating in a test, and we must keep that in mind and be civil
-
The mini-patch was unannounced. The announced 0.3.1 is the one that's going to block the mod(s). EDIT: Guys, let it go or keep it civil. Or else the mods may very well close this thread, and we do not want that. Opinions on both sides have been stated, and commented on. We want this thread to stay alive.

I am as upset as anyone, but we got to keep as much of our cool as we can. It really peeves me off when I hug the border and two Fuso's miss every single time, and they do not even bother to question it and aim manually either. And that is from when they're 18km out until they are at 6km, at which point the third BB scored a critical on me and I went down. That guy did not use the mod, and he fired and we exchanged fire normally. I understand they need to finish setting the client up for the new system that will disable mods, but man the waiting time until 0.3.1 is almost unbearable. Makes me wish we had a server for beta-testers, oh wait...... :-)
-
They have already said that as of 0.3.1 all mods will stop working, or those that call the scripts. They will secure their files in a new manner, most likely and also mentioned new/better encryption. Toxicity also comes from the fact that a lot of people do not bother to read a whole thread, and thus a lot of misunderstandings arise and words that would not be said if one had followed the thread would not be said. ;-) I have reiterated a lot of things on this forum alone and yet people have chosen not to read those or any follow-ups and replied to something that was long time ago, redundant.

and here I was getting my hopes really high up for the weekend. At least we may get some games before the not so sharp tools in the shed understands what to do to get it working again. Thanks for checking and clarifying though!
-
Yeah, but as said as far as I can tell absolutely all the core script-files was patched/updated. Which is odd since the patch-notes does not cover something extensive as that, and would certainly not be necessary to do if all they wanted was to fix a couple of things. Perhaps someone will test and see what's what?
-
They can't in the traditional sense as WG has further secured their assets. But people should always be on the lookout for mod announcements that are similar so we can report it to WG asap for followup. Man, I wonder how many will rage-quit today when they do not play as well as before.
-
Rumours are coming in that they also fixed the aim-mod, as in it does not work any more. :-) All core script-files have new time-stamps.
-
Pleas pleas pleas tell me you are not joking! :-D If so, then this is a glorious day indeed!
-
Looking at the core script-files in the res-folder they all got new time-stamps, and the patch deleted old and unused files, have they stopped this mod today and ahead of schedule?

lol. I remember ages ago, birth of commercial Internet times, where I read that a PT Boat had run ashore and killed a cow. Do not think they added that to their kill-board either. :-D -
Unequal sides in domination battles
krautjaeger replied to DreadArchangel's topic in General Discussion
We were seriously under-tiered and under-gunned in a match earlier, still we managed to pull through. Can be done, just hard. :-)
