Missouri is everything but rare these days. Second most played t9 bb in "last two weeks". And it is indeed an abomination.
-
I had to check, but that is not the case. He calls both of them Excalibur. The first time the name appears ("With that his four knyghtes receyued hym and set hym an horsback / then̄e he drewe his swerd Excalibur " ) it still concerns the sword out of the stone. The sword the Lady o/t lake gives him has the same name. As I said, I have never heard of the two swords having different names.

Your answer is more than sad. I didn't say our team couldn't do anything, they just didn't. I didn't start this thread. But to add to the discussion, I just stated that imho, even if I am not the strongest supporter of the idea, in the end, I would indeed concur with the idea of removing CV - which at least has the benefit of being a more feasible idea than me influencing the gameplay of ten other randoms. The example I gave was a random one - and I doubt sincerely there are people here who don't see - quite often - how an extreme difference in skill between carriers makes for just as extremely boring games. Be it on the losing team or the winning one, which I also stated in a previous post, and which was essentially the main point. You just tried your best to focus on that one example. (Maar wat baten kaars en bril als de uil niet zien en wil...) Also not true of course.

It was mountain range. What do you think? Yea they could has well all been afk, all sailing towards the southern map border. Are you new to this game?

So for an almost a new player without knowledge of how to be victorious.

Mutsuki is a very bad ship, only t22 is worse. Practice DD with either isokaze at tier 4 or fubuki at tier 6. It will show you pro and con of ijn dd play. (IJN DD at tier8+ is even harder - and I sold my yugumo a few weeks ago because it is crap compared to other dds. Shima is probably even worse) -
I don't agree. Such as it is now, where players have to chose between normal/deep water torps before entering battle, I only see the sort of dds that go chasing carriers opting for them. It won't change a thing. It is just another strange quirk, which WG can use PR-wise to say they are doing smt about bbs.
-
This, exactly this. Thank you. Especially in first phase of game (but continuing all game) CV counters DD more than anything else. As if they don't have enough counters yet.
-
That battle was just an example. Here's the (nuanced attempt) to generalize games with carriers at high tiers in my experience. - Most games don't have one. - Most games with cvs have cvs conforming to general playerbase, ie both are bad. - And then there's the part which annoys me: the substantial amount (the reason why I use that stats thing btw) where one cv is at below 50% and the other around 60 or above. Those aren't fun. And yes I gave the example from my point in a dd game where I had the idiot. It's "less" worse where I am cruiser, because I can try to make a difference or just resort to go for damage as last resort. If I'm a dd, it is excruciatingly painful. If on losing team, I can do nothing. If on winning team, unless enemy do smt brave (...), about the same. Most of the time they will just flee. And, really no offense, because I hate the BB overdose in this game, but if you really still think WG wants to reduce BBs, you are extremely naive, even if I wish they really did smt about it.
-
Yes, and only a few days ago I divved with a khaba which was our only dd versus their gearing and it was a total roflstomp for us. Who's next for the anecdote of the day? I earlier said that I don't have anything against CVs as such. But given the choice between: - hoping the playerbase gets better - hoping WG does smt to make playerbase get better - ... (?) - removing CV (<< WORST option btw) I choose the last one, because it is the only realistic one.
-
Did I express myself as stating universal truths? You are a cv player yourself. How many times does that happen compared to the times where you can just go total roflstomp?...
-
And to veslingr as well: If you're speaking of 1 vs 1 dd with cap game, sure ijn dd has the advantage of better spotting. But the game would still not be that onesided. That ijn dd can only be at one cap, a part of the team will move in to a cap not being capped.
-
Yes and no. Myself I went A cap (most left one) first, team of course not following. Enemy team fleet there also wasn't closing. But that was apparantly where shoka sent his tbs/dbs. I could dodge torps but by being spotted and taken db damage I had to retreat with +-20% health left. Only at that time enemy forces north of A went forward, just because they saw no enemy dd (me) anymore and their shoka kept planes to make sure of that and kept friendly dd at B spotted as well. That's no evidence of "better team", but of (way) better cv. Any group of cowards moves up when being sure of what is in front of them.
-
That is going to make way less difference, or at least make for way less onesided games. Not to mention each team having one dd is very rare, and not hardcapped like that. Poor argument tbh.
-
Until there is a cv in play. I recently had a tier 10 game (z52) myself with tier 8 carriers on mountain range(...). Given that map you can imagine how brave our bbs were, and then the thing happened. Our lexington (...) was a total idiot & did nothing, their shoka just kept screening the caps with both fighters & torp bombers. None of our DDs were able to do anything that entire game. Result: win on points by enemy team with a +- 9 min game. And I'm sorry to say so for all CV players here, but that kind of imbalance at the end also makes me in favour of just eliminating the class.
-
Why do people keep bringing up "teamplay counters cv"? Not that it isn't true, but it just doesn't happen. Not where it matters. This mostly concerns tier 8+, where cvs are powerful. The problem there will be that no cruiser in his right mind will follow a dd into/close enough to a cap to provide AA support, minotaur excluded. Especially given the amount of huge maps where cover is sparse near caps - ie most of them. What could be viable is BBs with their extreme AA following the dd up close, but, hahaha. Which gives the major problem with CV, namely the team with the good one will dominate the caps. (This is just limiting myself to "teamplay counters cv" at the game objective level. Sure besides that their is "AA teamplay" where the herds cuddle together. And just to be clear, I didn't say CV is OP. If anything, BB AA should be nerfed, hard)

No, he didn't. He even had her killed. -
Yes wargaming, there's a billion bbs (and leftovers) in tier 6/7/8 but your Edited matchmaker has to give me this Edited And to top it off, I get paired with the us cv and a team of Edited which leaves me as a t8 cl unable to do anything at all Edited To sum it up, and yea I don't care: go [edited]yourself wargaming. This post has been edited by the moderation team due to naming and shaming, inappropriate remarks

So I seem to getting more and more these kind of scenario's That's just 5 minuted into the battle. I was chapayev, first near B to use radar in case of contest. Anyway, see what is happening? The enemy (on both sides) either gets spotted or gets a few shells upon them, and immediately turns tail towards some unknown destination. There was one enemy Izumo at C who at least tried to support his fletcher there and of course got focussed in less than a minute. Guess he won't make that mistake of getting into an agressive position anymore soon... And I see this more and more. People do not even bother anymore trying to win. We won this game on points, with half of enemy still alive, cowering in middle of nowhere. I guess I'm with the "lucky" team here, but I've been on that enemy team as well (yeay new chatban). So: to Wargaming: Can you PLEASE inform your players how this game is meant to be played? And, I'm sorry to say, I'm not even being ironic here. So many people apparently have no idea at all about those weird circles on the map, and about points etc. To anyone else: Is this just my imagination that this is appearing more & more? (Quite sure I'm not). If so: any ideas what to be done cause this is just boring and a waste of time. (Conforming to forum rules, these posts have to be constructive. I don't really have any other ideas other than asking WG to educate its playerbase. Little ideas like gathering BB players into a leaky boat on the Atlantic probably won't conform...)

Not really. The latinized name of the sword was caliburnus. "Excalibur" was a further development through French. Even "caliburn" was already a (Anglosaxon?) "translation" of the original welsh. Are you implying that (at least in some version(s)) the sword in the stone is named "caliburn" and the other (be it the one out of Avalon or the one from the lady of the lake) called "excalibur"? I have never heard of that. Afaik, in case both swords are presumed to be the same, they have the same name (whatever version of excalibur) or, if not, the one from the stone was unnamed.

Emphasis on "so they say" please. Selling the KA before removing it is a very hypocritical move on their part, and with all this commotion probably a very easy buck. The reason they remove KA, imho, is just to keep the low tiers free of too OP ships, to not scare away new customers, that's all. They don't give a rat's [edited]about any other OP ships. Which are before all saipan, belfast, missouri, way way more than the KA. Any skilled player can take e.g. just a Nassau and club just as much. And yes, I didn't include kutuzov. I consider the MK the revenge for all the BS matchmaking the other tier 8 cruiser have to deal with, so it is just fine. And that's why I take hydro on kutz, allows for more agressive positioning. No carrier will come near you anyhow. You have very small dreams my friend. If it were about what I want you'd be seeing 12 bbs on one side and 11 bbs + me in a DD

And again, a startled flock of sheep Again with chapayev, went A to support Lo yang with radar, which chased shima away. This is FOUR AND A HALF minutes into game and enemy in essence just gives up! Could do measily 30k before, once again, win on points. Jezus ffing C. After a standard battle on mountain range with t10 carriers (where enemy didn't flee... - it was just a 20 km snipe fest) I just gave up on chapayev for today. @Sub_Octavian (or @whomever in WG) please do smt about this bs.
