Necessity to deselect or prioritize specific maps and game modes
Prospect_b replied to anonym_MdaKiQ22r4aO's topic in General Discussion
Or one mode... The one with the "take as much camping gear as you need for the next two weeks, cause you'll need it"... -
LOL "that's a good question phil" You CV turds are barely worth speaking about. Good to know Now please uninstall and spend some time with your family.

Yes, yes it would. As is your pertinence in denying that your original post couldn't be interpreted in multiple ways. (The paragraph wasn't even vaguely structured in a way that supported the meaning you intended) As is your unavoidable haughtiness in pointing this out. As is thinking that a spelling mistake is of the same order as a fundamental conceptual misunderstanding. As is your more than desperate attempt to conflate syntax and semantics, in order to uphold the "validity" of your joke. I had a proverb in mind that apparantly translates to English as "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" - I'm sure you can help yourself to a less archaic version. Glad we "settled" this...

Finally you are at least trying to reason. You are right to assume the sentence could be understood as you explained here. So was I, thinking that, given "normal" reasoning, the "RU DDs" were an example of the "either", and the "zao/(ibuki) & Conq/lion" were understood to be the corresponding examples of the "or" clause. But you didn't mean it that way, ok. You could also have responded a while ago smt like "hmm I think you misunderstood, because what I meant was [x]", and it would have been resolved - but, indeed, you needed to be a condescending pr*ck. While you're original text does include multiple compound sentences - the discussion wasn't about grammar (not even close) but pragmatics/semantics. But who'd be surprised you got that wrong? [Obligatory ""]
-
You mean, it visualizes the either/or distinction you made? Because that's literally all it does. (the "OR" e.g. is your capitalization) Yea, me replacing "tier 9 ijn cruiser" with "ibuki" must be me "messing and creating additional meaning". Good thing you use "" often enough...
-
Aren't you one of those guys who crusades against ppl being a d*ck in ingame chat? Cause holy hell, how to be a condescending pr*ck. Thanks. Let me help you. I'll quote you again and you go and read this post very, very carefully. So now you can see and read, yes little padawan? You can parse your own text? First you give an idiotic example of "bad ships", then you give Lion & Ibuki as examples of ships of your second category, i.e. "GOOD but don't offer anything" - which was the only reason I reacted in the first place. A mistake I'll never make again.

Your point is that ppl will play the t10 over the t9 - but that same point, at least in the current matchmaking that shits over t8 cruisers, would also go for t8 cruisers. There's enough people with Zao's, who also play Mogami. There's an NA streamer who plays tashkent, but barely khaba, which he hates. More to the point, I said the ibuki is a bad example. That's because the (155 ifhe) mogami is vastly superior to the t9, even though it doesn't have its heal, has less range, etc. Ppl often like to hypothetize about 1vs1, which isn't a good idea about ships in the game, but the mogami is probably the only t8 cruiser that has a real chance over it's t9 sister. The other ones don't even have a chance (roon vs hipper someone?) To give another example. I don't have the moskva on live server, but played it on pts and I really dislike it. I'm not too fond of the donskoi either, but I prefer it over the t10 nevertheless. You're stating that ppl don't play the t9 because they are just "transition ships". I'm just stating that the ibuki is a bad example for that point because the ibuki is quite trash for its tier/matchmaking spread - to a point where the (155) tier 8 of its line is superior. Where as other tier nines aren't specifically trash, and then there's two possibilities. Either a ship at t9 is somewhat of a mini t10, and then indeed, there certainly isn't a point for playing the t9. Best example there is the Roon. I'd say z46/52 also fits this though some ppl prefer z46. Or, the t9 is significantly different from the t10, and then ppl still might prefer the t9, or, of course, like both. Donskoi vs Moskva I already mentioned, gearing/fletcher was mentioned above, but also smt like St Louis/HIV fits this scheme. --- This, btw, is mostly (only?) valid for players who have a clue about the game, which is the main reason why I agreed with your main point. Braindeads will just go for the failstreak towards the t10, and stay there. I doubt if those 45k dmg zao players will go back to the mogami voluntarily.
-
Err? Mogami is the tier 8 :)
-
Very very bad example. I'd rather take a mogami than a bloody ibuki, and they share a lot of the matchmaking. I can't immediately recall a t9 that I loathe more. Don't know about the grozovoi line (although I hear a lot of ppl saying they like that t9) but looking back I enjoyed the tashkent more than the khaba. Idd. I barely played the gearing a handful of games, and in two of those games I got spotted, and blasted to 5% of my health by some BB. Which was my reason to sell it quite fast and stick to fletcher. If I want to take ridiculous damage with every shot at me, I'll take my z52, that thing at least has some serious compensation. Maybe I'll try again when BB ap on DD is fixed. You know, right after carriers are fixed. Yeah... Not holding my breath. In general I think your point sticks of course. Though there are some individuals who prefer a certain t9 over t10 (donskoi over moskva, z46 over z52 are two other examples I heard)

I saw a "random ship selecter" in aslains mod pack. Didn't try it out though.

Does short fuse AP mechanic of RN BBs exist in WoWs?
Prospect_b replied to GeneralSavage's topic in General Discussion
Indeed. The biggest problems with the ship I had was when enemy shells were flying towards me, and my instincts kicked in and I angled. Bad idea. I found it surprisingly hard to suppress that instinct btw.- 16 replies

humor? Hmm. Ok, if it is meant to be funny to "some people", sure, I'll give you that one.

Which they can because of permacamo's, which was the worst idea since lets try conqueror with a radar.

One BB troll spreads nonsense - the other one agrees. Me so surprised.

What is you latest "jinxed" new grinding ship and what do you do about it?

I did the mahan/benson +- last month on NA (solo) I had more tier 9 games than expected - I blame the excess of premium t9 bbs in queue for that. In t9 she suffers beyond belief. Though my tactic in general was the same, you don't really want to go contest caps on your own. Find a dd that has better concealment (which is about all of them), but preferably one with really good concealment, and stick close to them for support. Enemy DDs you want to surprise if possible. See map where they were last located, take an estimated guess where they could be, spring behind from an island. Things like that. Your firepower is very good, you will hit most at close range, a lot of enemy DDs will not shoot back in your first volleys because "m m must torp". Don't forget about your torps on both sides - a lot of ppl do - you can abuse this. Launch two torp sets at an enemy. Shoot and be spotted. Lay a big smoke and turn in it. A lot of players see the two sets of torps passing, think you're out for a while, and try to come close. Launch unexpected third torp set. General mid tier US DD tactics. Go aggresive towards an enemy DD when close to island, until you spot him & shoot. (of course not when too many reds) A lot of red dds will smoke. If you're still spotted, go behind island & wait for concealment to kick in. You now have smoke advantage - i.e. you can wait for enemy smoke to run out, engage him until he shoots back & smoke up. You need friendlies nearby ofcourse. And the normal stuff. Spam torps all the time because good reload & range. If flood, smoke & shoot. Angle towards bloody incoming torps. Don't smoke or go too agressive without knowing where radars are. --- As you can see I suffered way harder with the maass, and only got above 50% in the last few games. She too has concealment problems and I don't really know how to make her work. Hydro not good enough to make use of smoke+hydro shenanigans, meh guns, meh torps. The "really latest" ones would be kirov (which I never played before) & budyonny. Kirov suffers from the known matchmaking + abysmal reload. Both suffer from being extremely dependent upon the team to do well. To answer your question "what do i do about it", I'd have to know how to have a less idiot team. If anyone knows, please enlighten me -
Until a week ago you never had the legions of the braindead on your team? Then if someone had preferential matchmaking, it was you. WG just toggled it off.

I hope bots have better grammar & spelling. Still, I can NOT understand it. It's one thing to be oblivious what you are supposed to do in a DD, and hence have 31% wr. But HOW, for the love of god, can one have 596 (i.e. five hundred ninety six) average damage in 139 battles in a tier 9 DD. I mean, I am genuinely baffled imagining how that actually works. Two shellhits per game gives a higher result. One torpedo every 5 games gives a higher result. So, how? Seriously, if anyone can give a reasonable explanation for that, I would be grateful, because this is annoyingly puzzling.

Yes. The mighty midget carrier Yugumo

Indeed. I just redid the US DDs on NA. Unlike other lines (especially at t5) not a single one of them at any tier is a turd. The "weakest" might be the tier 7 when it gets uptiered because of its concealment. I agree. USN DD's are imho a beginner's best choice for DDs by far. Stealthy enough, very good smoke, possibility to mount defAA starting at t5, stealth-torp capabel from t7 onwards, great guns.

It's impossible that's not a bot, right?

UPDATE (STOP THE PRESS ).........We have had Space battles again... Bring back Bathtub battles
Prospect_b replied to T0byJug's topic in General Discussion
same :-) Tried in once a week ago or smt with the space zao on my NA account. After 1 minute I found it to be boring, annoying and stupid. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
