Don't. It's a tier 8 cruiser. You WILL get the most shitty matchmaking in the entire game except tier 5 cruisers. Yes it has heal and "armour". You will also get overmatched by about everything that you meet. You will eat strange citadels from weird angles. You will eat butloads of damage because of your short fighting distance. You have defAA but still your AA is worthless. You have pitiful range (almost 16km) and pitiful reload, 16seconds. You rely extremely hard on fires to do serious damage. Fires which have been nerfed hard, against tier 10 ships with low coeficient and which are very RNG to begin with. You have not felt real pain until your first standard battle with her on tier 10 mountain range. Or any battle Okinawa. Etc. I haven't played her in ages on EU, don't bring my stats on her to me plz. I didn't have any viable options on NA for creditgrinding but her, where I have 121 solo games with 66% wr. Yes you can make her work. But she is NOT fun at the moment. On the contrary, almost every bloody game is a pain. You're looking for a FUN premium IJN cruiser? Either buy yubari, or continue your IJN grind and slap a premium camo on your zao - cause that's what WG wants... wut? Kutuzov has better DPS, better range, better armor. Not even talking about the smoke or the AA. Mogami 155 is vastly superior in killing dds, and puts out way more damage. Same for Chapayev. Charles Martel can do about the same as Atago does, but from better & safer distance, more manouvrable. And I never tried radar Edin, but apparantly some people ( @Negativvv) can make it work, so that would be an option. I'd say lower top five. Because not too much tier 8 cruisers and the germans are still bad or meh.

I'm not that deep into naval history and didn't know that. I find this strange, didn't wg have a real life example to fill that tier?

Here's a nice addition to my personal opinion why being uptiered horribly is so frustrating: you are dependent upon your high tiers. I took my marblehead out for the first time in a long time, tier 7 game of course, on two brothers, a map often overlooked when people discuss "bad maps", cause for cruisers in general, and short-range ones like mine in particular, this map is too open. I doubt if I'm gonna take this boat out again any time soon. Imho tier 5 and 8 are dead. Dno about current t6.

No, you vastly underestimate the bots. That's not just sarcasm but the truth. I tried the op earlier today in the new New Orleans. Total loss, zero star. I say, ok, let's try again full tryhard mode with scharnhorst. Again: total loss, zero stars. Cruisers go full kamikaze, people underestimate the damage a troop of DDs can put out, and BBs camp the spot where you can repair, starting with 100% health. If I had the option to play this solo but with nothing but bots on my team, even worse ones than the reds, I'd try it once in a while. Like now? No way. Either go with a handful of decent players, or stay out, cause this is depressing in a way that no prozac can fix.

And this is exactly why, if people ask "which t8 premium should I buy", I say: none whatsoever.

They won't. Just as the old economy inflated, they "solved" that by totally ignoring it and setting up a new economy for people to dump real money in. Like so they will solve the inflation of (the worth of) tier 8 ships by keeping spewing out tier nines for people to dump real money in. (which in turn will also screw tier seven premiums (& silvers) more & more) And sure, officially those tier nines are "freexp" ships, and a lot of people will buy it with that resource, but a lot of people will also unlock locked XP with doubloons, especially when, like you said, word about how ruined tier 8 premiums are, gets around more & more. I still play Kutuzov a lot, since it is my main credit grinder (refused to buy missouri out of principle), and even though it is probably the tier 8 cruiser that uptiers best, the almost constant uptiering gets annoying quite fast, if only because for winning I am vastly reliant upon the tier tens in my team... And only the bestest players have those

When I started the game, I quite quickly changed to dynamic. But +- a year ago I changed back to standard, because I felt the dynamic one hadn't enough precision("ticks") for more accurate shots on e.g. DDs. Although most of my shots by now are intuitive, like most ppl here have replied.

So on the dev channel this appeared I found this link through Flamu's stream, where he was apparently surprised and asked his chat if they heared of this poll. I think everyone replied no. I never heared of it either. I can't say I'm that amused by WG pulling these numbers out of some dark place, since I actually know quite some people who don't like this diamond-arranged caps at all.

I get you ask participants in PTS after a few games with the new cap layout after some games, as first impression. But why not try a more comprehensive survey to as many players as possible, after it has been on live for a while now? I for one didn't really have a problem with them, until I saw they generated nothing but lemmings. Sure, that's a way to limit (too) fast battles, but imho to tackle that specific problem, map design should not be the first resort.

Yup, same here. With +-50 % discount I might have been tempted to buy ships I'd never buy otherwise (dirpitz or Eugen come to mind). But 30% for ships that I will hate quite fast because of their matchmaking, xaxaxa

I rebought this thing a while ago, since it was one of my first boats ever in this game, and I have horrible, horrible stats in it. While I can do reasonable dmg in it now, despite ubertrollish guns, getting a win is a whole other story.

Well, with the clubbers at low tiers they had two choices 1. rework AA on many low tiers 2. remove manual strafing & torping/bombing what costs the least amount of effort & money? There you go.
