    Yup. What you and others said, nl that standard is just one big campfest, is one of the reasons it has longer duration than domination. Another being, is that this game is just filled with braindeads, which shows on domination, because that mode has a particular set of skills objectives. One day @El2aZeR or me will indeed write songs about it. BS like - One team sits with a vast majority of their fleet somewhat close to a cap, but never tries to cap it. Other team has the other two caps very fast, and eventually said cap as well. Game over. - One team does try, barely, to contend a cap, but flees from the moment it gets shot at. Doesn't matter if the opposition is only one or two ships. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE is the order of the day. Game over. - One team has two DDs, who go both to same cap, smoke and have a nice little gangbang party in it (or whatever their intention is). There they eat torps or get radared and die. Game over (theoretically not, team could still try smt even without dds, but that'd require balls) - The usuals: BBs in the middle of nowhere, unable to project influence or shoot effectively at targets, DDs going for the widest flank/hunt CVs. Also the amount of ships reversing and/or hugging islands that aren't even slightly suited for that playstyle, etc etc tldr. There is nothing that predetermines domination to be so much shorter. But it is inherently more point/objective based, and people are too stupid to understand that and/or too much chickenshitters to actually do smt about it. One of the teams having only 2 or 3 people who do their job will have massive impact, hence some three man divisions with incredible winrates. -- Also, I don't buy the longer queing times. Most games I get straight in, even when queing together with a high tier carrier. And even if it would last longer, I couldn't care less if for only a slight chance of the next 10 to 15 minutes being less of a timewasting pain in the butt. edit: was just going around on reddit.     It was more that your post followed the other ones, that clearly reduced it to that. Yours was at least well written. Liked your suggestions, don't know if I fully agree. Limiting the amount of radar cruisers might be an idea I guess, though at least equalizing the number of radars in both teams is something a lot of people have been asking for a long time, and that I forgot to mention in the OP. Thanks for reminding me. Although WG will probably maintain that unequal numbers have no effect.

    It's not about hunting as in chasing them, but as Toby said That's how I understand the name of "Defending DD" WG gave them. Something like: you slap RPF onto them, at a certain point an experienced DD player knows that an enemy DD is trying to torp some ship relatively closeby, and given the possible range of torps you go intercept. If not completely succesful, you'll at least hydro the torps and the masterrace can live for another day. It doesn't sound appealing at all tbh, which is why I can understand ppl like Toby in their disappointment, even though I'm not an Anglophilic geek myself Also, Toby, what does Notser describe better about them/where is Flamu wrong?

    Found this one difficult. To begin with, that picture had to make a simplification of "counter", as you probably know. A fully (or mostly full) AA specced montana or Alsace will counter planes harder than some cruisers with defAA, and if there's an uptiered carrier, it's a straight hardcounter. If considering tiering, of course it's also vice versa where an uptiered BB gets countered by the CV. Hard to say, I'm gonna call a helpline @El2aZeR?

    Forgot about this one, sorry. Did you see Flamu's vid? You should. Its subtitle is "RIP shimakaze", and while maybe too focused only on the shima, it is correct. Its main role will just reinforce the DDs killing eachother paradigm with its massive firepower, not to mention c*ckblocking the torpedoes of the red DDs. Ask yourself, does it fit the original "DD counters BB" paradigm? It has meh/ok'ish (dno yet) torpedoes, with meh range and very long reload, and will be otherwise dependent upon smoke shooting versus other ships. And even though it outranges the khaba with its guns, smoke shooting in this day and age is, let's say, "debatable".

    No. They can hold their own and are/stay (very) influential. The main point is that, in a game with fundamentally different classes, every class should have strenghts and weaknesses. At the moment this aspect of game balance is thrown into the toilet. With all the (anti)radarthreads, this is a point I didn't see mentioned. Why do we accept some classes getting counter after counter, while other ones can just be... you know. Another point that, although everyone knows that is just the Weegee BS PR department doing its thing, they stated (is it now almost two years ago?) that they too "were concerned with too many BBs ingame". Though they did nothing to make it even slightly more difficult for that class, in fact they did the opposite, and did only made things more difficult for carriers, cruisers, and, of course, destroyers. (Somewhat of a sidenote, when I now read about the nerfs to the tier 5 and 8 French cruisers, my mind boggles. Are they even somewhat close to Bismarck numbers? Am I going blind?) Another, that given the more difficult circumstances for DDs to operate on, my fear that steamrolls might be (even... sigh) more frequent than they already are. As in one team's DDs go down so fast, that the rest of the game is just a waste of time. This is nothing but a possibility of course. Steamrolls also are so frequent at the moment I couldn't even try to tell what happened where and why.

    Can everyone PLEASE stop derailing my thread, by reducing it to an "anti-radar"-thread, of which, indeed, there are already plenty. I do not even understand how you would think it could be reduced to that, given the assumption you read it. I mentioned radar as being one of the counters against one of a destroyer's passive weapons (i.e. stealth and smoke), that's it, and some imho very reasonable changes to it. Nothing more. But sure, a short restatement. Not at any time in the OP have I made strong statements against radar as such. The radar that was already ingame (RU cruisers, Des Moines-line, British cruisers, High tier PA, Black, Belfast), was more than sufficient, given, as I stated in the original post, there is already a plethora of anti-stealth weapons in the game. (CV's and other ships' planes, hydro, other DDs) Especially for those people who lack proficient reading skills, here's some 'fast phun' charts. Notice something? Here's another one - warning: l33t paint skills incoming. Again. Notice something? Some extra's. - I've indicated BB's passive weaponsystems (armour) as doesn't have built-in counter. This wasn't always the case, until German BBs arrived and then, later on, every BB citadel got a bloody impressive upgrade, leaving only some Japanese battleships reliably punished, after all BBs started the big whine about "angling so difficult mister".. - Any decent carrier player goes after DDs, cause that is much more influential for the result of the game, not to mention going after BBs costs a buttload of planes early on in the game, after all BBs started the big whine about "planes so deadly mister". Did all DDs started crying for defAA or massive base AA? - The captain skill 'demo expert', which costs a quite substantial amount of points, has been nerfed to an impressive 2% a while ago, together with the introduction of fireprevention, after all BBs started the big whine about "fires so OP mister". Did you know that all ships take firedamage, and that, until high tiers, only BBs can repair them? Though it wasn't DDs (or cruisers) who started the whine. - Weegee seriously considered introducing the high tier british Battleships with radar. - Weegee seriously considered introducing the reworked Grozovoi with radar. Cause there aren't enough DD hunters in the game yet. - Anyone heard of any dangerous anti-BB introductions lately? If you want to mention asashio, be my guest, I'll concede, knowing that - The relatively recently introduced deepwater torps punish cruisers most of all, not BBs. - The relatively recently introduced AP bombers punish cruisers most of all, not BBs. - edit: if stealth is such a problem. Did you know that DDs now have a tier ten direct counter, that has a larger radar range than detection range? When do we get a consumable against that? Thanks in advance. - etc etc

    I've played quite a number of games with el2a, you couldn't be spouting more nonsense if you tried. Where do you base this statement on? Really, genuine question, I want to know. Cause even you, when looking at his solo cv stats, should understand that you can not get that kind of winrate by padding damage. Don't even understand what you are saying here. Please explain?

    These days you'll see them every day, either because they play the legendary missions, or summer makes the sewers get too smelly to stay there comfortably. My team's midway from day before yesterday: My team's haku from yesterday: All autodropping. None strafing. And then WG wants to make us believe stories about "the need to rework CVs cause player skill disparity"... Sure. Maybe make it impossible to go beyond a certain tier (5?) if you can't manual drop & strafe? Instead of letting ppl go to tier ten just by pressing "battle" button enough times. (and filling WG's bank account by unlocking XP)

  20. Source?... Just looked at kutuzov and Belfast. Both average around 45k on server. That's not indicative of them being mostly played by better player I'd say.
