To be honest, I don't know if people expect that much from Tirpitz players. Anyhow, I must agree on what is said above. (addendum: Nothing that follows in ment as disrespect.) You have gone to the higher tiers too soon (by skipping tiers 1 through 5) by bying premium ships. Someone said to play lower tiers, upon which you responded you kept winning and therefore went higher. However, we can see your games on sites like warships today (https://eu.warships.today/player/541535592/Albert_Poop_Decker) and those numbers do say something (doesn't automatically mean the same as (negative) critique) Your tier 1 to (and including) tier 5 games are 7 (!) in total. (two black swans, 1 campbeltown, 3 nicholas, 1 arp haruna). Really, please take a ship line (whatever nation, whatever class) and start from tier 1 and just grind tier by tier. They can actually be quite fun. I started with German cruisers myself, stopped at tier 6 because I sucked to much with it , started the japanese cruiser line till tier 5, started german battleships till tier 9, and have continued grinding the cruisers again. I am not a great player but if I would have jumped in high tier games as early as you did, I would be utterly devastated by my average results... By the way, you said you grinded for the other lines you have. I only see british cruisers as a continued line, so I guess you must have won the Leander with the Santa Claus convoys and continued from there. For that line I guess you maybe shouldn't start from tier 1, but for others I'd really recommend it (or tier 2..) You must have free-Xp'd some of the ships in that line though...? You have played 30 games with Leander, 32 with Fiji and 27 with Edinburgh to arrive at Neptune now with, I must say this as well, horrendous numbers. Low 30s - mid 40s winrate, average damage less than I did in my first tier 2 ship Dresden (and boy did I not know what the game was about at that time) and corresponding experience. No way you can make enough experience to go up on the "regular way". Most of all, you are going to make a lot of people very very angry, including me if I were on your team if you are in your Neptune or soon in your Minotaur... (You have 21 matches in your Neptune with an average 4200 damage... That's about one or two salvo's that hit and then you are dead?) Contrast to tirpitz, I think a lot of players expect a high tier British cruiser to be played decently (and they have great value for the team). You said something alike "it's for fun", but games are ment to be won, that's a simple fact. That doesn't mean a lost game can not be fun if two teams are having a decent fight, but playing with people who don't really have an idea what it is all about, really isn't that amusing. (If it's any consolation (well, euh...) you're not the only one) Another tip would be to work on your aiming. You have quite low average main battery hit ratio's. Above people have mentioned youtube. You can just search there for "world of warships aiming" and some nice video's will turn up. Question: how did you get to the Cleveland (tier 6 US cruiser) and Nicholas (tier 5 US destroyer) without playing any of the previous tiers. I didn't know about missions where you could win those... (unless warships.today is messed up)? Concerning the colour things I can not help since I really have no clue what you are talking about... ("Just after Ithat I opened fire on a red Prinz Eugen and got pinked for firing in allies." + "Also, I don't have to be colour blind when In a green sector I see it turning red and All the red ships are over the other side of the map. I can see them and I can see the little ships at the top"??? ) Really, if there is a problem there can you try to explain it again? Edit: of course now I see you also have "grinded" American cruisers and German battleships. But once again with such low average scores you must have free-experienced them. Please, just start at the lower tiers. You said you love ships, well, a lot more of the lower tier ships are real than the higher tiers. Still don't understand how you got the Cleveland though.

Very well written, like the irony. (Like the quite stereotypical (which includes not reading the actual post... duh) second answer "git gut" as well )

Been grinding the KM cruisers myself, at hipper now. Konigsberg I played a lot when i was quite new, wasn't that bad of a ship (though I was) Nurnberg I actually like the most, even with a lot of T8 battles and the constant overpresence of BB. When in a bad spot, just run and you still have 2/3 of your firepower. AP and reload are fantastic. Yorck. Hmm. In the end I liked the ship as such (only use ap < 9 km, you'll be surprised) but it really can't hold when there's only 2/3 cruisers in each team. Very decent HE. (The shells don't really feel "German" though) With Hipper I'm having even more trouble at the moment. (biggest problem the same as forementioned, a lot of T10 battles, with massive bb presence). I saw someone mentioning staying at max range... Will try that, but if that (and some more practising) doesn't help, I'm thinking of freeXPing it. With hipper being described as the absolute cruiserkiller, it is just absolutely no fun in this meta (made even worse with a lot of "friendly" bbs refusing to go up and use ca's as meatshield).

How can we prevent this from happening almost every game?
Prospect_b replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Unlocked Hipper yesterday, played five times with her (him?) today, five losses (four times almost exclusively tier 10 ). Battleships turning tail the moment they see enemy appearing was best case, cause that ment some of them actually went near a cap. Don't really understand how people have completed such grinds... -
Hmm. We've got a game yesterday with a tirpitz (surprise) who apparently already was in the mood for mission 5, chasing an enemy carrier (that was faster than him...) for 10 minutes (could be even more) in epicenter. Costed us the game...

Much fun Indeed it doesn't mean it will happen 62,3 times in 1000, but 1. that's not what he said and 2. that's not what that percentage means (not in the slightest)... I feel your last remark indicates you should have some sleep and then re-read your posts.

Scharn looking quite mad at you now. -
Sure, it isn't a guaranteed succes. But it is frustrating if there's games where I as bb am the only one shooting a red dd. They could at least try. I often shoot dds way beyond 8 km, even one hit is something... ^ This Entirely agree with your entire point, very well said! It is in essence a vicious circle I'm afraid. I'm not getting support in this or that game, ok, next game, F 'em all... After some bad matches, I play some scharn or bismarck, because of the reasons you told, very selfsufficient and forgiving ships - while knowing it isn't good, because in that state of mind i just want to play selfishly as well and knowing that they shouldn't be like that, because it appears that's the reason why they are played so much.

Karma, Euh, congrats on taking your time for that explanation. I have to admit i find your text overly convoluted... I wouldn't even know what your main point is. Quote from the important paragraph. Can you, in layman's terms, repeat or refine what you mean by "the refined gameplay" (which is established by (among others?) rdf)? Thx

Mostly bb player, so no need to look it up... There is a problem, but it is not solely bb players, though I must admit, it's mostly them. Yesterday, I was in Yorck helping dd out in cap (domination). I asked belfast if he wanted to help, he came. A friendly scharnhorst started turning the other way so I said "will you please turn back to the cap now" - his response: "sorry, but I'll get focused as only bb there"... dedoi... The enemy scharnhorsts did show up, but with some time difference, so we were able to focus-burn them. When the one enemy scharn was dead and the other barely alive (and our belfast and dd dead), the friendly scharn did turn around. Day before that, I was in bismarck. 2 other bismarcks and a tirpitz in our team. I was supporting dd near cap with about 11 km distance to 5-6 enemies. Two friendly bismarcks who were quite behind me started even turning farther. I said "will you **** come & support me ****" - one responded "no, why? We are in gunrange, and the goal is to survive" (his stats weren't that bad btw, except low damage but with shooting with bismarck from 20km that's no real surprise) It was in the end problematic that match (both of them) were a win, so I don't think any one of them would be thinking they did something wrong. BUT, apart from other bbs not supporting, I've also seen CA/CL turn around when the reds show up, even if we outnumber them. Also seen a lot of CA/CLs not prioritizing dds but keep he-spamming bbs, etc. So while it isn't wrong to give a lot of the blame to bbs, you can see questionable actions from everyone. It isn't the ship-class, it's the player.

Hello all, I've seen some replays online which were very helpful (flamu e.a.) but now I have arrived at three ships with which I struggle, hard. Those are: Yorck, Myoko and Friedrich d. G. The cruisers are hard because of the heavy bb play of course. I tried to remedy this by looking for replays on youtube & wowsreplays, but that was all but helpful. I have not found a single replay of a FdG game that was not max tier 9 (not to mention dd light). Please, when do you ever see that? Never had a single one of those. Same for the t7 cruisers replays where the cruisers are top tier and the game is bb light (with for example only 3 t5 bbs - again: where the heck do you find those games?) In my t7 cruisers I see a lot of bbs anyhow, and often in a t9 game. Replays in those circumstances would be really helpful. In my FdG I see t10 with a lot of elusive he spam cruisers (zao, moskva, khabarovsk etc.) Replays, again, would be helpful. Replays tend to focus a lot on "mega epic hardcore supahdamage" and the like, for which I absolutely do not care (at least, not as primary criterium). Once I see the (laughable one in a million) line-up, I don't watch it any further anyway. A lot of them also are played in division, which also aren't that representative. So: for any people having replays of the ships mentioned, would you please share? Zip some of them, and attach them to a reply here, or post them on wowsreplays. Once again, this doesn't (rather not) have to be a unique game where you are first place with triple damage/xp/ of the next one - just a regular game where you show insight and have a good game. Anything would do at the moment, frankly. I'd think more people would find such replays handy, but at least for my part I would be very thankful. Much obliged, PzP

I wasn't being pedantic, I was just joking in that post. But if you're serious, sure. <Pendantic> Next list: 1. Semicolon does have an agreed upon spelling, preferred without hyphen (Oxford dictionary), hyphen is tolerated though. "Semi colon" is not correct. 2. Don't be stupid, see: https://languageandgrammar.com/2008/05/09/stupid-grammar-error/ 3. The spaces between an ellipsis are a typographical matter, not a grammatical one. Once this forum supports LaTeX, I'll see what I can do. </Pendantic> -

True, but the OP didn't insist his was correct. You do. So please, once again, explain why the link you provided validates your claim. -

Sure you are correct Hedgehog, above all: 1. You referred to a link that gives: This page does not seem to exist… 2. You quoted a rule you didn't even comply with yourself, because it does not apply here, i.e. the rule to use semi-colons to separate items in a list when one or more items contain a comma. 3. That you fail to understand that sentence (that you quoted yourself) gives me doubt about trying to explain there isn't necessarily a strict difference between a list and a sentence. -
Hunt of Graff Spee and hursh winter. A plea to WG.
Prospect_b replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
(Yes, I like grammar) 1. When discussing grammatical trivialities like a semicolon, please write it out correctly (semicolon or semi-colon). 2. The list shouldn't be separated with a semicolon, but with a comma and without capitals, and, indeed, with an "and" at the all but last phrase, because in essence it is one long sentence, i.e.: fix bedroom heating, sort out plumbing, get a flue shot, plead with an online game company to extend its 'complete by' date so I can get a pixel ship, and practice spelling. (Not a native speaker myself, so I prefer "shot" and "practice". That is just personal preference though.) --- See for example: http://www.getitwriteonline.com/archive/101406VerticalLists.htm C. Punctuating and Capitalizing the Items in a List Except when the items in a list are complete sentences (or when they contain complete sentences), treat a list as a single long sentence. Whether the list is vertical or contained within the running text of a sentence, the following guidelines apply: Provide a relevant and clearly expressed lead-in clause or phrase. Remember that each of the items in the list must complete a meaningful, grammatically correct statement when read with that lead-in. Begin the first word in each item with a lowercased letter. Use appropriate punctuation after each item to separate them from one another in the series. Use "and" (or, depending upon the logic of the list, "or") after the next-to-last item. Use a period after the last item in the list. How we punctuate and capitalize the items in a list depends upon whether they are individual words, phrases, or clauses and whether any of the items contain complete sentences: If the items in the list are single words or phrases with no internal punctuation, put a comma at the end of each item. Put "and" (or, if logic dictates, "or") after the next-to-last item in the list and a period after the last item. The items are not capitalized (except for proper nouns). See examples 1a, 1b, 1d, 2a, and 2f below. If the items in the list are phrases or clauses with punctuation in them, put a semicolon at the end of each item. Put "and" (or, if logic dictates, "or") after the next-to-last item in the list and a period after the last item. The items are not capitalized (except for proper nouns). See example 2b below. If the items in the list are complete sentences, put a period or a question mark at the end of each of them-and capitalize the first word-just as you would do with any sentence. Do not use "and" or "or" after the next-to-last item. See examples 1c and 2c below and our list of five guidelines under "C" above. If even one of the items in the list contains a complete sentence, put a period at the end of every item in the list-and capitalize the first word-just as you would do if they were all complete sentences. Neither "and" nor "or" is used after the next-to-last item. See examples 2d and 2e below. -

100 NY camo. Better than nothing I guess. -
I didn't say I was great in my bismarck for the record. Just struggling much more with the FdG. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate your input... Don't really appreciate the usage of vocabulary though - adding no offense to an offense really doesn't make it any better.

lol. i have no problems with my bismarck. The FdG for me just feels very different, however many ppl may say she is just a bigger bismarck.
