I think it's fair to say playstyle comes into it, the Bud is by far my best ship, I struggle like hell with the Aoba yet was fine with the Furry Taco once I watched ATSF's video, the N'Burg - I enjoy and have a better WR than the Aoba, though I would take the Cleve over either, and the Bud over all at T6

I'm loving it, armor still weak for tier but no where near as bad as Kirov, hang back behind an IJN cruiser or BB and farm kills :-) Just don't brawl

Nope - not missing it, just checked, Kirov still made of glass.... I use Kirov just like I used glass cannon sniper fit ships in Eve - unlike that game, people haven't figured that you primary GC's to reduce DPS quickly, that's the playerbase no working effectively in random battles, nothing to do with the ship.

Sorry but that simply isn't true as a generalisation for the other tiers - take the Kirov - the whole point is that it's different it's a glass cannon sniper.... Below Tier 5 - I couldn't really care - unless you want to go seal clubbing... I'm at the Bud atm - and I would entirely agree it's op - if you learn to play it, I love it, because it's the ship which has taught me to aim / get citadels What concerns me is, asking for them to be nerfed is another set of nerfs, instead of buffing other lines, are we cruiser captains going to turn into BB drivers and ask the whole game to change for us?

Ok so been playing the Cleve a while, I'm fairly useless but I like the ship, especially when with carriers for AA duty and tearing up DD's, my best win rate is in this ship purely because I know how to use it for AA cover. (Nearly 60% vs my usual average) I'm looking at the rest of the line and not really seeing anything fastfiring and fun till the DM - what do you guys make of the higher tier US Cruisers? NB: I recently stopped BB line at VI - as I just wasn't enjoying it, really enjoying DD play atm in all three lines, so if they start to play more like BB's higher up, as the DD's have started to turn light cruiser, I would rather stop at Cleve.

Which is, as is usual in this game, ignoring the point in favor of a situational argument. True, evidently a BB close in will sink a carrier. As will a DD with torps - you BB guys don't like that mechanic because it's unrealistic, 'DD's would never get that close to BB's irl' is the scream. Yet BB's rarely got that close to CV's - Yet that's acceptable as it favors the BB ship class? I mean.... Cmon....

So just to clarify, you want to pick out realism aspects that suit your BB within the framework of a limited map size, fixed engagement video game, but don't want other classes to have realistic elements which would help them against you? Cool! I also did NOT say - 'BB's can't do a thing to a carrier', I said they were largely ineffective in the war and it was all about carriers, hence why BB construction/development pretty much ended after the war.

It's not a problem when the carrier is OP against it's equivalent on the other team...

True - so carriers should be able to launch a realistic amount of planes is that what you are saying? ;-) Anyhoo, they sank it in one battle yes? How many ships did the mighty Yam destroy in one battle? Of what class and type? My point - was that BB's were largely ineffective in the war - was all about the carriers at the top of the tree....

Carriers are awful full stop due to the BB mafia, get used to it!

Must admit enjoyed this line till the Ognevoi which is feeling like a real grind atm

Fact is carriers SHOULD be lethal to BB's - the BB's SHOULD require light cruiser and destroyer escort. Sadly as this is a public game with mostly people not working together coherently, that kind of setup could never work, the mechanics of the game are tailored to the player base, not to realism, which you could argue, is the only sensible strategy. BB players moan BB's are ineffective, dudes..... Did you even watch the history of the Yamato and see how inneffective it was due to carriers

I think this is very valid - my aim needs to improve massively I think before progressing!

Check the Russian cruiser thread, outperforming all other cruisers at its tier, so clearly some people have bothered to learn to drive it rather than flaming because it doesn't suit their playstyle I spent a lot of time on the forums and youtube recently trying to learn to improve my own gameplay, just skim reading the forums and finding whiny posts like this, really hurt me when starting out in the game. Fortunately now I learned who to listen to and who not ;-)
