Rozdíly mezi DD a torpédy jsou jasně dané tím, jak chtějí designéři jednotlivé větve od sebe rozlišit. US DD jsou vlastně gunboaty s cílem ničit nepřátelské DD pomocí děl a příležitostně ohrozit větší lodě, když se jim náhodou podaří dostat se do blízkosti (malý dostřel, horší camo). Japonci jsou zase nejsilnější v torpédování velkých lodí na střední vzdálenosti, kdy jsou skrytí. Děla jsou tu povětšinou jen na okrasu a pokud nemáte taktickou výhodu v tom, že třeba nepřátelskou loď nachytáte jak vyjíždí zpoza ostrova, tak je nějaké manévrování a střílení zhola nemožné. Pravda je, že ale japonská děla na DD dávají asi o 1/3 větší dmg než u USA, ale taky 2x tak dlouho přebíjí.

With 203mm guns especialy the japanese BBs can be punished with AP when they are shot in the side. Other cruisers are natural choice for AP as you have great accuracy and now where the citadel is.

You must aim on the superstructure, not on the hull. The screenshots you have provided show how you are aiming on the hull where HE shell do no damage at all. Today I was killed by Baltimore in Colorado. He did 5-6k dmg per salvo into my superstructure. I did some overpenetrations for 1200dmg and 2 hits for 7k. You have to pray for citadel hits when facing cruisers 1 on 1 now... -

Yeah sure, but you are talking tier V vs tier VI. You will also have no problems killing Cleveland with Myoko. I think the only thing that is needed is to nerf the fire probability caused by HE shells. With the captain perk you can literally burn everything in your way. No matter what Cleveland is best DD killer in the game and can be played succesfully against BBs when wolfpacking with other small ships. Good BB captain will probably focus every cruiser before it reaches the firing range and 1-2 good hits can send him back to the port. Most likely the cruiser will stop chasing you and you can focus on the BB again. The problem is only that teams usualy let BBs without support of smaller ships and they are eaten alive in the HE storm. 1 on 1 with the equal players skill the BB will always win as it should be.

Well I fought Aoba against Cleveland before 0.3.1 was released. Maybe now it is different. But with Myoko still Clevelend is like 2-3 volleys prey.

I do not know, but I feel more comfortable sailing Aoba than Cleveland. Maybe it is just the aiming with the high angle, but I like Aoba much. I can do a solid dmg with Cleveland, but the gameplay seems realy dumb.

Maybe I am strange, but I have absolutely no problems fighting Cleveland with Aoba. I hate Cleveland personaly. It is a paper thin DPM machine which favors aggresive playstyle. I am pretty sure I can counter this playstyle when I am aware of my enemy and actualy fighting a single ship. So for me the Cleveland is annoying but not very dangerous when she operates alone. Cleveland gameplay seems stupid to me... spam HE until you or the target dies. She is my favourite target in every 203 mm equiped japanese cruiser, but you have to know how to aim your APs.

Well in 0.3.1 I think that cruiser gameplay is much more simple than playing a battleship. Many guys just yolo with HE and still are doing reasonable dmg until they die. Battleship captains need to think in advance cos their ships are slow, not very maneuverable and they realy suck in fighting multiple small targets. Good BB captains can win the battle for their team when they got some support. Destroyers are tempting to go yolo, but the patience is the most important skill for a succesfull DD captain. When the enemy is aware of my DD I just pull back. When I am not spotted anymore I do some scouting and while the enemy is busy fighting the big ships I strike hard. I realy do not like CVs so I can not judge them, but some captains have realy incredible skill in coordinating attacks.

I use AP shells on 203mm guns facing Cruisers and Japanese BBs. With BB I shoot 90% AP, but in 0.3.1 build you just need to shoot at the BBs side or you will do nearly no damage at all. Citadel hits still work and I am winning 99% of engagements when enemy BB is firing HE on me.

Farragut and Mahan ship hull upgrades are downgrades?

Mě teda přijde, že po 3.1 se CA vs BB stalo vyrovnanou záležitostí. Snad to spraví. Dostávat každých 6s za 5k a požár mě fakt nebaví.

I realy agree with Captain Edwards and chaplain. WG needs to push cruisers into their suggested role. Their purpose is to keep BBs safe (protect them against aircraft and DD attacks) while they are fighting the big ones on the other side, then cruisers should go hunting the straglers and push for the base under the supporting fire of BBs. Now we see wolfpacks of cruisers rushing battleship with HE storm. I see that the damage done by HE shells can be repaired with the BB skill, but the cycle is far too slow to counter that. Tier VI cruiser can hit a BB with 3-5k salvo every 8s, the BB can hit him for 30k every 30s, but more likely you will hit just for 3-5k. It makes you look realy silly in the BB when the cruiser farms you that hard.

The ability of 2 lowtier cruisers to eat tier IX BB in a minute is a complete nonsense. Unless you score a citadel hit on the cruiser you are dead. The HE ammo should be rebalanced to do much less damage to heavily armored targets. The main problem is realy a teamplay when your cruisers usualy do nothing and let the BBs without any support.

Vadilo mi to hodně, ale po zpomalení capování už tolik rozjetých her nekončí v nejlepším. Víceméně je to jediná možnost jak vyhrát, když máte pomalé lodě a je proti vám letadlovka, která i bez letadel může zdrhat do aleluja. Trochu jiný je domination mod, který rozhodují malé lodě více než kapitální. Kdo přijde v domination o DD a CA je v prčicích. Bohužel si to moc lidí neuvědomuje a jezdí vše kromě BB yolo. On takový destroyer na konci bitvy, když jsou enemáci rozptýlení je pak žůžo. -
Nikdy jsem aimmod nepoužíval a stejně není problém s trochou cviku a tréninku s danou lodí sázet zásahy na 20km. Stačí trochu používat zaměřovač a pracovat s dobou letu. Po novém patchi mám v BB pocit, že jsem proti jiným BB skoro nesmrtelný. Tak moc lidi přestali trefovat. Za mě je dobré, že to zmizelo. Ta hra s tím nemá totiž smysl, protože vymaže rozdíly ve skillu.

ad Izumo: Umístění děl jen dopředu dává docela velkou možnost toho správně využít. Celá koncepce takových lodí (Nelson, Richelieu atd.) byla stavěná na tom, že při přibližování se k nepříteli čelem můžete pálit plnou salvou a přitom mít malou siluetu. Zde to funguje podobně, akorát to chce najíždě na nepřátele čelně. Pokud někdo jede přímo k tobě, pak je skoro nemožné mu trefit citadelu, protože ji kryjí věže a nástavby. Takže tak nějak by se to asi mělo v teorii hrát.

HE ammo needs to be rebalanced or there is exactly no point in driving anything else than cruisers.

There is only hope that this game is not so action based and noob friendly like WoT. It is slower paced so kids will not play it so much. It will be boring for them. I expect more mature community in this game. I hope there will be no XVM crap in WoWs and the only measurable stats will be win ratio.

True. I was grinding my New Mexico yesterday and survived many poor air attacks. Once I met a guy who coordinated his 4 squads perfectly and I was dead in the second minute of the game.

On the Ocean map the range and speed is everything (as it was in real naval battles), but there is simply a lot of islands which make the maneuvering difficult, so I am fine with every battleship. Fuso is strongest tier VI (and maybe even tier VII) BB, so I am awaiting slight nerfs in accuracy, shell damage or hp pool reduction.- 84 replies

The firing range extending module is a must for every US BB until you hit tier VIII with triple 16". Turning speed is great for dodging torpedo attacks and it also helps in a brawl with another BB as you can turn when the shells travel to you. I have also feeling that US BBs are much more armored than their japanese counterparts. Lot of shells bounces and there are fewer citadel hits.- 84 replies

Succesfull torpedo attack is extremely difficult to do. You can hit enemies who are in gunfight with others or they are not giving attention to you mostly. Even Yamato can dodge torpedoes when you shoot from 7 Km or more and she is aware of you. I usualy spam torpedoes whenever I can and I go close range only when I see the opportunity. When you go close range (5km and less) just shoot 1 salvo, wait until enemy starts to dodge and shoot another salvo with correction. Battleships cant move their rudder so fast so the second salvo will probably hit or he will run into the first salvo when he stops turning further. The positioning of your destroyer is also crucial. Try to be in front of the battleships, so she is comming to you. It is realy easy to avoid torpedoes, when the destroyer is behind your back. My best strategy is going straight head on at enemy BB side (you have also low profile when you are driving straight to him), then i turn hard and shoot the torpedoes, smoke and run away. It works well for me.

I think that Hood will be large, fast, maneuverable glass cannon. Good accuracy, better DPM, but terrible survability. That is my opinion.
