Hurrah! It is my birthday today and the Kamikaze R sits happily in my port (Earned enough pearls for a guaranteed ship). Thank you for the event, the amendment and the quick distribution of the prizes! Apparently you conspired all of this to surprise me with this ship as a birthday gift ;) Cheers, M

[Project R] where is my Kamikaze R? (293 pearls)

Discounting premium ships and the ARP vessels... Tier 1: None Tier 2: None... Well, Umikaze if you really want to, though I do not have it in port. Tier 3: Tenryu if you want to keep on a T3. Gameplay is a lot more interesting than the St.Louis. Tier 4: Kuma Tier 5: Omaha, Minekaze, Kongo Tier 6: Cleveland, Fuso. For some reason I also really enjoy the Nürnberg and the Mutsuki. If I'd go on it would be... Tier 7: Nagato Tier 8: Fubuki, North Carolina or Amagi. Tier 9: Just started on the Iowa, a lot of folks consider that one a keeper. Seems to be a more powerful version of the NC, can't go wrong with that. Cheers, M

[POLL]Name of the T10 German BB "Grossdeutschland"
Meneleus replied to Spellfire40's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm, come to think of it, you could use "Götterdämmerung" if you have a flair for the ominous and the dramatic. Has a nice ring to it. Cheers, M -
Cleveland + Demolition expert = Bliss Cheers, M

[POLL]Name of the T10 German BB "Grossdeutschland"
Meneleus replied to Spellfire40's topic in General Discussion
Well, in that case I would propose the name "Joyous proclamation of impending doom" Seriously though, I would not mind the name Großdeutschland. I you worry about nazi-esque names you will love names like "Germania", "Das Reich" or especially "Der Führer". If one would desire a more serious name there are several themes which might fit the bill: Great military victories: Tannenberg, Hohenfriedberg, Rossbach, Leuthen, Coronel Great military leaders: Friedrich der Große, Graf von Schwerin, Falkenhayn, Admiral von Reuter, Admiral von Capelle Famous germans with a military theme: Götz von Berlichingen, Prinz Louis Ferdinand, Hermann von Salza, Barbarossa (the russians will love that one...) Or a more general name like "Preußen" or "Furor Teutonicus" Cheers, M -
Who said you are a good player? I would expect a good player to focus on winning the game instead of whining about fail divisions. Weird that you take offense at someone clearing his guns through your friend. You did not seem to be bothered by your friend clearing his guns through someone else's friend. Yeah, because trying to defuse the situation is for reasonable people. Far better to screw over your other teammates who had nothing to do with this by wasting your ally. And it is "sayonara" you doorknob. If you are trying to sound like a cool kid but don't know how to spell a word, put some effort into it and look it up first. Do you have any self-awareness at all? All your smug justification and bravado is but a thin veneer that fails to hide the arrogant egocentric attitude you try to pin on another player. It truly is disgusting. You disappoint me Cherry, I really expected you to know better then this. If you think someone is an arrogant and overbearing toad you blacklist him post-game. If a "fail division" does not deliver you report them. Neither is an excuse to open fire on your allies, let alone sink him and screw over your entire team. Cheers, M

I'd recommend switching to a higher tier ship as soon as you unlock it regardless of tier. Keep on ships you like the feeling of. Don't be too hard on yourself. Even with well over 3k battles I am far too aggressive way too often in a game where most of the player base is way too passive. Learn as you progress the game, look up gameplay, tutorial and review vids on youtube to be informed and improve your play in the meantime. Cheers, M

I tend to play the Yorck conservatively, keeping an eye out for destroyers and overextended cruisers. I guess I should play the Yorck more often. I am usually way too aggressive in my cruisers, the Yorck is one of those vessels actually instilling caution in me. All in all the Yorck is a bit underwhelming but certainly not as poor as some people make it out to be. It is possible to be reasonable succesful in it. I think that if the AP trajectory is spiffed the ship would be up to par. Cheers, M

It also helps if you simply leave the Ishizuchi in the harbour and take out the Kuma ;) Cheers, M

What ships do you guys have a Love-Hate Relationship with?
Meneleus replied to SeaMonsterUK's topic in General Discussion
Cruisers. What is not to love about fast and furious action? What is not to hate about being obliterated from every angle by you-know-who? Cheers, M -
What is considered a "normal" survival rate in WoWs?
Meneleus replied to abkack's topic in Newcomers' Section
Survival rate is heavily dependent on play style, ship types and nationalities being played, premium consumables used, captain skills, upgrades and even tier. Generally more aggressive players (like me I suspect) will get themselves killed more often. Aside from that carriers tend to have higher survival rates since they can operate from a safe position, meaning that even if their team loses the chances of a carrier suriviving due to the enemy team winning on points or fulfilling the mission is pretty high. Battleships tend to have higher survivability chances due to their sheer resilience to damage. Cruisers tend to be rather vulnerable and are regularly wiped out in the end phase of a game. Premium consumables improve survivability due to the lower damage control cooldown, and if repair party is available the premium version can have a big advantage keeping you alive, especially with certain signal flags and skills. Especially on battleships this advantage can be very significant early on. Nationalities can play a role as well. My survival rate in IJN destroyers for example is higher when compared to their SU and USN counterparts (I really suck with US DDs...) due to their playstyle focus on concealment and torpedoes. I have a higher survivability rate in T4-5 IJN battleships then in USN battleships due to their vastly superior speed, USN battleships up to and including T7 simply can't maneouvre out of a sticky situation. Cheers, M -
Ah yes, this is mentioned on the "about" tab. Searched quite a bit but seem to have missed this one. Well, we still have 3-4 weeks to go and we are about halfway. I am not too worried. I think folks can still get 260 pearls or more while missing out on the first series of weekly missions. If these missions stay the same there are still 171 pearls to be earned (three weeks worth). I have finished the personal missions and two weeks worth of weekly missions and am on 179 pearls. If you disregard the first week that would still be 122. Since the weekly missions are pretty easy to complete players who complete this week's missions will still have their chance at the guaranteed ship, provided they keep at it the coming weeks. And who knows, there might be additional content at the end. Chees, M

A question Brynd, if I may be so bold. The site states: "Collect 260 Pearls and get Kamikaze R guaranteed!" My interpretation would be that, regardless of the number of server-wide accumulated pearls, players who make the 260 pearl mark get a Kamikaze R. The Kamikaze R lottery participation at 150 pearls is specifically displayed as a milestone.while the guaranteed Kamikaze R is only mentioned as a personal goal. Is this interpretation correct? The site also makes a distinction between pearls collected and pearls available. Can we expect ways in which we can exchange our available pearls in the future? Cheers, M

After reading this you ll never think same about IJN Katori and BB Iowa
Meneleus replied to D7v's topic in General Discussion
What can I say? Apparently the Katori was trolled by MM that day. Cheers, M -
Honestly though, how many times have you had a match where one side had at most one destroyer and the other side four? I am nearing 3k matches now and I have seen this only very, very rarely, this is not a consistent problem. Besides, having a destroyer advantage does certainly not equal an automatic victory, it might even be a disadvantage. Cheers, M
-
I don't see why these suggestions should be implemented, the same case can be made for battleships. MM simply deals you the shortest straw every now and then, part of the game. Cheers, M
-
Guess I am playing the wrong NC then, I have no problem hitting folks at 20km... Provided they don't pay attention and dodge of course. Same goes with all BBs at 20km (provided they have the range in the first place) On topic though, I miss the option "none - battleships are not meant to be snipers". Cheers, M

I think we are all yearning for more regular content. What I meant was additions to the regular store instead of ships which are only on occasion on offer. Cheers, M
-
I am rather curious myself to be honest. I really wonder when they will introduce new premium ships in the regular store for example, the same five ships have been on offer for over half a year now. Some new additions would be welcome. One of the vessels to be introduced is a cruiser by the way ;) Cheers, M

I think the event can be changed and it would be an easy solution to the problem. Simply award the ship to all people who reached a certain threshold, add features like treasure chests, add to the personal goals. The event is not set in stone. Regarding the Kamikaze being a powerful ship I'd say it is a slightly downgraded Minekaze, a ship available to anyone who does not mind playing IJN destroyers. I do not think it will upset balance, especially not with T5 cruisers being as popular as they are. Cheers, M
