Thre RU forum is full of reports of people who got it for their other WoT nicks, and rage by those who did not: And Yes boys, its not less than 1 000 000 free exp and 30 000 000 credits.

No they don't. The discription of the offer is incomplete. These people also get a crapload of credits.

Saipan requirements announced: 20+ CV wins, at least one T5 carrier
Babykim replied to Ragweek's topic in Aircraft Carriers
The whole idea of skill-controlled ship distribution is a farce. Why not get back to real and lift all restrictions. They won't keep the noob at bay. A better way of doing this would be not to sell ships if the player has no regular ships of the same tier and type. But even this won't help. -
I am taking this from a video digest by getfun, as I don't have RU account to search the forum. If you do, look for postings by the developer JamesWhite of the past weekend. I might create an account to repost the links tonight.

No, done that twice myself.
-
No, you obtain the offer to buy the Saipan for money or gold if you fulfill the requirement.

Team killers get a temporary ban. A guy in the Russian Forum who created a second account and went on team killing. He got banned after about a week of boting and team killing, but not before he got 3 days of premium, automatically given to new players. LoL. How long is the first ban I cannot tell for certain. He posted the screenshot yesterday (the 27th of March) evening with a ban till 31 of March. This makes a 3 day ban after whole week of boting and team killing? I am underwhelmed.

Yes, but for money, or 9500 doubloons.

Interesting news from the RU Forum: 1). The Saipan requirements are officially disclosed: 20 wins in any carriers and one battle in a tier 5 or higher carrier. The offer will be distributed via personal offers, a newly implemented feature. WG promises the players won't be spammed with offers in the future. I think the requirement is a joke. 2). Starting from 1 April for month an experimental 20% reduction in repair costs all tier 8-10 ships.

The misery, the frustration, the contempt
Babykim replied to red_eye1980's topic in General Discussion
The servers are full of brainless trash, that explains all really. -
shooting at targets as they move behind island
Babykim replied to de1hagar's topic in General Discussion
This is a known issue that has been discussed in the past. Nevertheless you are right, it is annoying. While in a BB I simply don't shoot when I know this will happen and save the precious shot for later or switch the target. -
+1 for Nagaton

People are worried they won't get the second stage of the Captain Extraction in time. I don't think the Tirpitz is penalized in some sense. There are simply more around, and late in the evening you are very likely to get into tier 9 and 10 battles in a tier 8 ship. Moreover, overexcited Tirpitz owners bunch up in full battleship divisions -- a sure way to get into a high tier game.

How do you know it is him who reported you? Maybe it was the cruiser you killed. Just because the friendly carrier claimed that he reported you does not mean he really did. I often run out of negative reports after the first few games. Anyway all this reporting business and the ensuing discussions are kind of vain. Honestly, are you a karma collector or what?

I gave you my honest opinion in #13. I just think that there are better uses for free exp. My biggest gripe with the Pensacola is the New Orleans.

Before believing the experience of other players when claiming a certain ship is good or bad... It's usually healthy to check how a given ship supporter played the ship he/she is trying to defend in his profile... ...If you do the excercise over the multiple threads with Pensa supporters you will see a common trend than most seem to ignore. Their performance at the Cleveland and the New Orleans is ALWAYS better than with the Pensa... But they insist on claiming the Pensa is "hard to master". There are exceptions, and you have a curious one on this same thread... But your initial perceptions are correct, the ship is paper thin, and contrary to some puzzling claims, the further US line improves on this regard... The only thing that save the Pensacola is that when facing their opponents its width is smaller than Cleveland's or T8+, meaning that statistically speaking more shots will fail, even if they are aimed perfectly... The problem, ofc, is that it doesn't require too many shots to take down a Pensa and contrary to T8+, you loose half your firepower when forced to present minimum impact section to the enemy. Coincidently T7 is a tough moment for all cruiser captains because it's when they start to become exposed to the full range advantage of BBs... Meaning that the chances to show your flank to an oponent while maneuvering against closer threads is much higher than at lower tiers... All T7 cruiser players have to increase their "combat awareness" because of this... But Pensa commanders are the ones punished the most when catched badly aligned. Look, most people would agree that Cleveland is better than Pensacola, and that the latter is, say, underwhelming. However, what is the point of whining if you want to progress along the line? Just to be clear, I would not skip Pensacola using free exp. It is not that bad. The only ship that deserve this are Ognevoi, Karlsruhe and some low tiers Russian destroyers. IHMO, of course.

It took me ages to get used to Pensacola. I really started to understand it when the grind was practically over. Know your strength. American AP rounds have best normalization in game. This means that at a medium distance yo decimate cruisers, even from oblique angles (this is where normalization helps). You prime targets are cruisers with AP, dangerous but fun targets. Killing destroyers can be awkward because of low dpm. Spamming battleships with HE is ok, but very dangerous due to bad camo, mediocre range and weak citadel.

This is not a guide, just some personal reflections to get you started. Others may have radically different opinions on how to make this ship work, especially the on captain skills. I checked your stats and Omaha is your highest tier american cruiser (except Atlanta). This means that your American cruisers captain does not have a very high number of skill points, e.g. no demolition expert. Still I suggest using him in Marblehead and Atlanta to level up faster. Useful skills for Marblehead? Really the usual cruisers skills: Basics of Survivability (1 level) Situation Awareness (1 level) High Alert (3 level) Plus useful ones like: Incoming Fire Alert (2 level) Demolition Expert (4 level) Same applies to the upgrades. Standard: Main Battery Modification 1 Gun Fire Control System Modification 1 Damage Control System Modification 1, or Propulsion Modification 1

Yes, there was a problem in the past, but this one is apparently new. Unfortunately, no details.
-
Why would you need a captain, if you don't have time to play the game? This type of mission is precisely for the dedicated players who have no life. Hardcore must be rewarded. Get over it. EDIT: I personally don't needed it, as I am not planning to play the APR ships. So the real award is 1mil credits. Not really a tragedy if missed.
-
One of the WG explanations for the recent drop in the number of players was the overly successful WOT patch, the one with the new physics and sound.
-
There is currently some rage on the Russian forum about the Russian cruisers being glass cannons. Many Russian players compare them to the German cruisers and find them equally crap. But then they find nearly all cruisers crap nowadays. Incidentally the developers admitted that there might be an AP normalization problem with some German cruisers, notably the Hipper. Not that I find Hipper's AP bad, but apparently it was supposed to be even better.
-
I find the Tirpitz reasonably accurate. Other features include near useless HE like on most German ships, decent survivability, reliable AA (recent buff) and a good potential for printing money. The only downside rally is its popularity, despite the high price.
-
Don't buy the Tirpitz.
