MM - Good team players win matches, not tiers
Babykim replied to xenopathia's topic in General Discussion
My point is: Skill-based MM will kill this (and any other competitive) game. The whole point of growing skill is to trash the noob. Take this away and all decent players would leave. -

Interestingly, in an ages-old interview, SerB, the chief designer of WoT said something very wise, about this: "If anything, it is the skill that should rule", otherwise the game has no future. See, for example, the MM problems of Armored Warfare, which basically killed the game. -
Give this guy a Texas...asap, or he might change his mind

The "Situational Awareness" is gone...

I like the way it works in WoT a bit better. There SA is a default choice, but the skill does not work till fully researched. -

Sure its an arcade game, but game designers still have a choice between minor and major idiocy; they opted for major. Secondly, I asked two questions. -

Why stupid? The minimap circle expands when you shoot, so you have all the info you need. I am saying that they made something which is absolutely exceptional by concept a bread-and-butter choice for every bobby and his mom. Great job. Two questions: 1. How can you know if you are detected in real-life? 2. Why should you know if you are detected in game? Of course, assuming that nobody has this skill. The fact that you were made dependent on a game feature does not make it a good one. -

Big use. I you known an enemy is or was inside your circle, you know you are or were spotted. And this is all you need. Realistic and makes sense from the gameplay point of view. Now everyone uses SA per default and this is a lock-in situation. Imagine the outcry if they would try to remove it at all (would be much better). So they give it to everyone as a default. Absolutely bad design, which has to do with the early neglect of interface. Terrible really. I hate the idea of everyone running around with SA. But mine is minority opinion. -

To me this is the second bad move by game designers. The first one was putting SA on the first level. It should have been much higher up, say level 4 or 5. Why? Because this kind of prescience is absolutely exeptional, and should be rare. So what about all the DD suffering without it. Well, it would not have been a problem if the spotting circles were on the minimap from the onset. But WG released a half-backed product with crap interface. Now, correcting the mess that should not have been there. -
I agree with the OP, they do.

In the Russian version of WoWs ships' hit points are called Боеспособность something like "fighting fitness" points, a concept that subsumes all types of damage incl. crew loss.

She is going to face tier 7, where she will be really hopeless. I recall reading that the only good feature is, suprisingly, armor. She has armored bow and stern that allow bouncing very large caliber BB shells, but only bow on. Her guns are nominally those of Gremyashi, but the actual arc and pen are worse.

But the reaction of the forumites is funny...

I had once argued to never shoot below (or barely at) the waterline. But the absence of the horiz. auto-correction due to aiming below the waterline should not mess up at such short range.
-
I have to test this ... in game obviously. Noobs beware, I am splattering tonight ...
-
Good question!

The supertesters get it with next patch 0.5.8.

nice, only last two are papers!

Pick for the first French premium ship.

Where does this rumour come from? Because the link your provided does not mention a source. -
Yubari and Sims back on sale in Premium Shop
Babykim replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
There are only three reasons to buy a premium ship: 1. She farms like a goddess of fertility 2. She breaks the noob like Kratos breaks the Underworld 3. You have strange compulsion to collect all ships Having said this, neither ship is good at 1 or 2. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Babykim replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
We ( havaduck, DJ_DIE and I ) also met Flamu, but in a random game playing the Anshan. We had such a rare luck with matchmaking ( our Nagatos agaist their Kongos ), that we did not need Flamu to trash them. -
Well, if this will turn out to be a pure PvE mode, i will not be interested.
