-20% USN Carrier win DROP since patch. This isnt gaming, this is torture
Kenliero replied to Xceptor's topic in General Discussion
Lexington didn't need any nerf in my opinion. It never felt OP carrier. I rarely played it even(before the patch), because it didn't feel like I managed to get much done. I think it was pretty well balanced with Shokaku, which is not OP either(I have both). Tier 8 "was" the most balanced tier in my opinion. Haven't played after patch, but I hope it's not bad... -
You might think that she still lives with her mama, but I am convinced that even her mama abandoned her in a very young age, when she saw the first signs of her disability(lack of human behavior). I truly believe that according to her latest behavior, she now lives outside civilized world, with apes, because I have not seen such a clueless monkey in my life before.... oh, I'm sorry, that was actually an insult to all the monkeys in the world... My sincere apologies. Her topic was complete waste of time, and so is this message... but hey.. for now, I have time to kill, so why not... and finally.. Hey Acheron... don't get yourself pregnant over there...

So, is my Lexington going to be bad until 0.5.2?

I've actually noticed that this is not always the case. Some people can really suck at warships, even when they were good in Wot. That said, I believe that great players usually find a way to learn to be good in WoWs too. It's all about "doing the research", and learning what actually works and what is the most effective way to do things. Even if you were good in the other one, if you don't actually put the time to investigate what works, you will not get it.

Punishment/Penalty for withholding fire to make last shot/a kill
Kenliero replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in General Discussion
Never cared about number of kills. Only thing that matters to me in a match, and what I constantly think about while playing: "What action helps my team most, at this very moment, to win this battle". -
"especialy CVs are using exploit to reducing visibility range..." This is not an opinion, it is a lie, brain failure or simply imagining things. Pick one. Your statement above gives indication how little you understand game mechanics, and your winrate strengthened that conclusion. If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, it probably isn't a cow.

I have two letters for you: BS

I actually grind to Minekaze as my first line ever when I joined in OBT release.(never played CBT) I had no idea how to play destroyers and had around 40% winrate in Minekaze after few games. Sold it... Now that I have played 4 other lines and bought Minekaze back, knowing how it should be played, I've liked it a lot. I don't care that it is nerfed. The reason it is my favorite now, is because I am actually grinding that line now and it's so much more fun than before.(61% wr now) Perhaps I should try Isokaze also and try some Sealclubbing, lol

New York and Wyoming doesn't have good AA yet, but it will get better. New Mexico is true brawling ship, you will like it, and Colorado, even being slow as hell, is tough nut to crack and has great AA. The meaning of AA comes to play after tier 6, so your impressions for now are not quite what they will be. New York, Myogi, Kawachi and Wyoming are the low tier ships that has most trouble with carriers, so you can expect much better in the future. It is true that it is almost impossible to kill carriers with battleship, but that duty is reserved for other carriers and those sneaky destroyers... I originally was not interested of carriers, because I feared they were like arty(hate arty in wot) complete random luck bs, but it turned out that with carrier it is all about what you do, rather than luck, so I like to play them every now and then. (I have played 10 different carriers). With battleships.... it is pain in the "#&"%& when you don't get support when pushing the flank, but that is the part which requires skill, you need to find a way to push, so that you take repairable fire damage from enemies, but not against too many enemies at the same time, keeping angled when THEY shoot, keep an eye on destroyers etc.... find a way to get close. It's easier when you have played other classes, when you know their weaknesses and strengths. Getting to that 8-10km, aiming to waterline and one-shot the enemy with proper citadel hits is very rewarding. Aiming is not that hard, but finding a way to get in to that position to shoot their open side, while protecting your own broadside, is the thing. Repair skill can repair all fire damage, so use it. Sometimes you need to fall back a bit, if you take too much damage etc. Things you learn well, when you get more games under your belt. Soon you realise that sailing battleship is much more than just RNG. It's about outplaying enemies and conserving health.

Well. There are two things that I want to point out. There is not"Carriers bomb me and there is nothing I can do"... yes you can. Play better. Keep your eyes open for planes, predict, take countermeasures, don't sail alone in the middle of nowhere... many ways to counter. Carriers are not Arty. There is no luck and rng in carrier play, it is just you against them, only skill involved. if they torp you, you did something wrong. He was better. Even if you have 90% winrate in wot, it means nothing here. You have to learn how things work, and you seem intelligent enough to understand what I mean with this. The best advice is to play all classes, to really understand them. You are not going to learn to counter/defend against carriers well, if you never tried them. Also, about battleship RNG. This is basicly how Battleships work. You get as close as possible to enemy, which minimizes your RNG, but also every km towards enemy is more risky for you, mostly because of the destroyers. So, skillful player gets close and personal and outmaneuvers them with his SLOW ship. So, with skill, you can do this and I have no doubt you will understand how it will work, if you have been that good in Wot. It just takes time and practice. Tricks like these will come to play when you played enough to understand the mechanics. Once you have evolved.

Yep, most likely we will get updated before Christmas if we buy flags with it.... But certainly it is "coming soon" without any payment, just like unified gold... was... sorta... kinda... let's ignore this for now and focus on this bundle which is right here, right now... So FOR NOW, it is in bundle... and you can read about it, soon... in some hidden developer corner of the NA forums, not here... so stay tuned!

I meant what does this mean? How does CV reduce visibility near the border by exploiting something? I can't understand what that means... or is this just some nonsense that I should ignore?

What do you do when you have a bad run?
Kenliero replied to fnord_disc's topic in General Discussion
I've noticed that the best cure for bad streak is a full long-bag workout of Muay Thai. Putting your frustration into your punches and kicks works... -
Ok, thanks. He must be mistaken then I suppose

Ok in the end of the ranked pilot season, I managed to get myself to rank 14 in 55 battles (62% wr), and it told me I get 11 stars for the next season... ok.. now my friend played only 1 ranked game and won it. According to him, he will get more stars to start next season.... so how does this work? Am I now being "rebalanced" and have to start further down?

Some good points made there, and I am sure there are a lot of people who either quickly grind past Omaha OR people like me, who thinks Cruisers more noob friendly ships and mostly poor high tier and wants to focus on other lines, and get real nice ship for tier10... but still need moneymaker, and dont want to put a lot of money in it... ending up grinding most games in Murmansk... getting over 60% winrate, but never bring that same skill and experience to Omaha stats. I believe there are a lot of people like me... and that does give statistical advantage to Murmansk, even though being same ship...
-
My favorite ships: Minekaze(SneakySneaky... Was "Forced" to buy also Fujin bundle to train my Captains... Really really didn't want to buy bundle, but I don't have other Japanese premiums, and getting Fujin made sense, when grinding IJN DD's Murmansk(Fast ship, a lot of fun. My actual moneymaker) Ranger(I have to buy it back some day!... I love to use full bomber set with this.. I made a mistake by selling it) New Mexico(True Brawler. In my opinion best ship in tier 6. I still prefer Colorado for Ranked battles). List will propably change when I get North Carolina, Iowa. Shimakaze, Essex,Midway...

100k profit is average, 150-200k good game. 200-300 profit great game

Reduce visibility range.... wait, what?

This game is no longer fun but boring, see why.
Kenliero replied to Antony1953's topic in General Discussion
This is actually pretty good video to learn basics -
yeah, they really fixed the border. Now the ship gets STUCK in the border. I just noticed with Colorado, that it is impossible to turn ship by touching the border. It takes so much speed away that eventually you get stuck in it, and you have to actually REVERSE to get out of it... I would rather take damage from the border than this crap.

Kenliero replied to Antony1953's topic in General Discussion
Playing co-op becomes boring after a while. It happens in most games. Easymode sounds nice, but nice is boring. You need challenges, and don't be afraid if losing, because losing will make you better player and force you to learn. Like Schwarzenegger said "don't be afraid to fail", because that is the key to success -
How about adding a 'Top Player' stat into the records?
Kenliero replied to simonmd's topic in Archive
Stat like this favors campers. People who don't make effort to win. Players who camp at back, being last one alive, which helps him farm more xp and damage. I am not in favor of this. This game should be about winning battles, not farming damage. -
There are 2 major reasons why CV's don't kill each other in high tiers. 1: Detectionrange of high tier CV is so bad, that they need to keep maximum distance, which results to long travel time for bombers, and so it is not really worth it. 2: Every ship has so good AA and top tier CV's sail behind other ships, making it almost impossible to get there past other ships, so CV's "settle" for easier single targets, single ships in frontlines.
