Proposal: Simple and elegant solution for better fairness in "Ranked Battles"...
Kenliero replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Actually it does matter. without irrevocable ranks ALL players(except you) in low ranks are bad, so good player can actually carry and raise in ranks fast(like I did from 14 to 10). Now what we have in rank 10, is MOST there are bad players(due irrevocable) and the team who gets those lucky 2 good players instead of 1, wins.... It's constant 2vs1 situation there, where the remaining 14 bots don't even matter. In 7vs7 scenario 2 good players can carry wins pretty easily, which results in a dice roll of which team has those 2 who carry. Of course in the long run, it is going to favor you, simply because odds are better, but it's going to take a lot of games, and the further we are in ranked season, the more it is going to be rolling forth and back. I have no doubt I can get to rank 1, but I just don't want to wait in the line most of my evenings. It just takes too much time with too much randomness. If one could play "intelligent" games most of the time, where one player could turn the tables "quite easily", it would be worth it, but now with average of 14 braindead players, majority of the games end up just being frustrating games where your allies drop like flies. Your odds to find quality games are just worse than in random battles, so getting motivation to continue ranked is kinda difficult to talk yourself into. Having skill absolutely pays of the long run, and the faster you do it, the better quality of games there is. I was very busy with work when the season started and now it is kinda too late to focus on ranked anymore... Specially when the quality is what it is. -
Maybe it was Ebay where he paid, lol

Yeah OP, you can easily have a "weird fluke" in your games. I mostly get good stats with BB as well, but my Colorado stats are weird. My winrate in random battles is only 34%, while in ranked they were 67% last season.... but it is just what it is.... in order to get them "right" I should play hundreds of games. Thing is I had 7 loss streak when I started grinding Colorado, which made it really bad in random, and then I grinded the rest of the ship in ranked.... so... if the % really bothers you, you can fix it by playing like 250 more games, but is it really worth it? No, I don't think so. I am not going to play hundreds of games with Colo just to raise a single stat.... even though those reds bother a little ;)

Yep, there would be a lot of "Kill that Blyska player first" -stuff

Why is everyone complaining? The biggest griefers are on the forums.

Yeah, games are like women, first you think you own them, but then they shoot you. -
Spotting mechanics are NOT based on line of sight. Each ship has their own detectionrage in their stats, can be seen in port view. The enemy will see you from this distance, not when there is line of sight. That said, when you fire your guns, the noice increases the distance significantly. The bigger the caliber, the more it raises, which causes the effect that some small destroyers can actually fire guns without being seen, while Big Battleships are seen through the map when firing. After firing there is 20 second delay where the effect is working, and 20 seconds after you have fired your last shot, the detection changes to normal, shown in your port view. Do not expect people to help you. Instead, try to find a way to work with them and never go alone somewhere, expecting people to come for help. Relocating is very slow in this game and your allies are most likely busy with their own stuff. Most importantly, they do not get bonuses for saving you. They want experience and they get it by shooting enemies, not saving allies, so they choose to shoot ships and staying alive. I hope this helped you to understand the game mechanics better

Kenliero replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
This is how it should be(and would be without irrevocable ranks) , but the older ranked season gets, the more is required from you to push past rank 10, since there are more and more bots on rank 10 and more and more it's about how lucky you get with teams. No matter how good you are, there is no winning if your team is filled with teamkillers and bots. I got to rank 10 really fast, but after seeing the player quality in rank 10, I just lost interest in playing completely. It just requires too many games to get forward. -
What I do not understand, is that why DD players think their optimal range is 2 meters. You are making a mistake, if you go that close to BB and you should get rekt. Secondaries should be very powerful, so that DD's are forced to stay in proper range. Buff DD from their invisrange, if you think they are not powerful enough. It makes zero sense that DD can sail circles around BB. Making secondaries extremely powerful would also encourage BB to close range. Maybe change mechanism so that BB can not even shoot main guns closer than 4km, and is forced to switch to powerful secondaries when dealing from secondary range... and wreck everything that makes a mistake of coming so close. It's just stupid justification that DD has no chance from close range... well... they shouldn't have even tiny chance from 3km... I don't understand why this is even a thing... also Cruisers SHOULD keep their distance. Who on earth thinks that cruiser should work against BB in secondaryrange? Buffing secondaries would push balance and ranges to right direction. Next remove 15-20km torpedos, improve torp reloads, repair CV and we are heading to right direction...

CV gameplay geting a tad rediculess.(T6-7)
Kenliero replied to Spellfire40's topic in General Discussion
And this is why WG broke CV's... people can not see difference between working and broken mechanic. There was nothing broken in the CV gameplay mechanism. It only needed adjustment to damage parameters. What now happened, was they broke the mechanism itself and the plane behavior went broken... it's all result of people shouting "OP OMG! CHANGE THEM!!!" Without actually having any clue what made them op. It was never too difficult to dodge torpedoes. Mechanism for drops was ok. They were never those "UFO ALIEN"-drops over the islands... like clueless people claimed... Taking some torps is ok. The problem is still the amount of damage they inflict. -
Two things needs to be removed from the game

For example USS Colorado had 2x533mm torpedotubes in real life... -
CV gameplay geting a tad rediculess.(T6-7)

I personally think they should buff DD and Cruisers, instead of nerfing classes in a way that make them annoying to play. BB is good as it is. Don't fix something that is not broken. CV was NOT broken before nerfs. They just made too much damage. Reducing torpedodamage would of solved everything, but instead they broke the whole class and made it painful to play. DD's work well in T1-5. Why on earth do they need to change for the worse, when you could implement SAME playstyle to high tiers, just by increasing few torpedos in spread. There is NO NEED to make them 20km range at all, with stupid 2 min reloads. Now it's just lucky spam in high tiers. No skill required AT ALL. Reverse ALL CV nerfs that were made recently and then just halve torpedodamage. Any ideas to buff cruisers? -
CV gameplay geting a tad rediculess.(T6-7)
Kenliero replied to Spellfire40's topic in General Discussion
It looks like there are 2 groups in this thread. First one is trying to make game playable for everyone, while the other group doesn't give rats ants about others OR playability, and would be happy to just gey rid off all CV's as long as it serves them and makes it easier for them to play their favored class... if only people could drop the selfish attitude and focus on improving the game... I play pretty much all classes and in my unbiased opinion CV play is just frustrating now. It would be much better, if it would be easier to torp ships AND at the same time do less damage per torp... it's THE HITS TO SHIPS that give that great feeling, not really the damage itself. Now you rarely even hit anything and you just end up losing your planes because this Tirpitz guy clicks "autoruin torpedoattack"-button, which is annoying. -

Or... you can just remove irrevocable ranks. Lose star from every loss, get star from every win. 10 stars to reach next rank. Total of 30 ranks. 1 Reward given to player once per month, BASED ON THEIR CURRENT RANK. No seasons, but permanent ranked league... players will settle to rank, based on wins, with time, and will get reward based on their skill, once a month. -
I was already looking for a new reason to play my Mutsuki... and there it is
-
What worries me most, is that people don't want to shoot enemies because "their hitrating will drop"...

You need to do something about the hacks!

Well, in order to get clear picture of this, we should see the replay.. I personally think that your 20 seconds is exaggarated etc.... but yeah, what ever the case.... No screenshot, no replay, so, like they say: "it never happened"

It's this debate again, where AS guys tell how the game really works...

It is specific to one ship, if HE is the one having packet loss... 20 seconds? not completely impossible scenario.
