Poll about bundles, player spending and the reputation of Wargaming EU.
VonHespburg replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Again i hope they would? Though i do know they have a pretty poor reputation, specifically for cash-cowing, but i did like the idea of WoT and WoWships to put money into both (though as i said, not happening anymore despite me wanting to, due to lack of the Single option that the Russian server gets), though again CA and Paradox are both larger companies than Wargaming, with highly profitable business models because they take note of customer comments and feedback (though CA only recently getting back on that after Rome 2), you see it in every other gaming company, are we saying though Wargaming literally doesn't care? Genuine question here, because if that's the case i really don't see how their going to keep viable once their niche market opens up a bit more- as has started with War Thunder, Armoured Warfare (though i know someone said those guys are just the same!) and co start up, I know also Steel Ocean tried to have a go, but is in a poor way currently (but with some good ideas), which may be developed as time goes on. If their providing a poor service experience at this level as seems to be the case, while also ignoring the community, not really talking or interacting with the forums, then they'll quickly lose out on their potential to other guys muscling in in terms of money vs choice. Currently i'd put forward that perhaps that do so well simply being the 'only polished' game of their genre, thus interested customers put their time in and their cash (sort of according to the poll at least, many seem unwilling now). When this changes with more choice in the same genres, they'll be fighting for even less of that same customers overall 'entertainment time' and outright competing- currently its 'WoWs vs other entertainment- perhaps a strategy or fps game', but soon it will be even less than that 'WoWs vs War Thunder (or whatever title) vs Star Citizen vs other entertainment'- and if their customer experience and feedback is shite, they'll start missing out. Thats something i'd rather not see happen as WoW COULD be a good game. But the current business model seems to hinge on relying on a lack of competition for customers time in this niche from what i've read here and experienced, that's not going to be sustainable though, and especially not with a bad rep. -

Now that's a true shame. I'm a great believer in 'Tribunals' (like we have over where i'm based) to provide accountability for both moderators and posters and act as an independent checker of moderation actions, its a shame then that Armoured Warfare are doing the opposite as their again going to cut off a key source of actually getting feedback/providing a decent community space. -

As a newbie to the forums, i'm all for it. Its a big issue for me that they keep bundling without offering an alternative in the single ship, and yep its directly influencing the hours i spend on the game- i've previously purchased to the two russian ships as they are singles and have had a whale of a time in them, but this policy of 'only bundles' (Just on the EU server i've noticed), is keeping my wallet shut, i'm a big spender on games, but i don't want an inflated bundle for the price of a new steam game. I would however put up to £15 in for a ship (see it as 'dlc') on its own +Port slot. You realize if we all adopt this attitude there would be NO communication between a games developer and their playerbase what so ever right? Their would be no way for players to have a platform to voice feedback and suggestions, or indeed the developer to make use of that- Nearly all major games companies take heed of their forums, i'm a moderator over at one of the TW forums, so trust me, if a games developer is doing it right, their listening to their forum goers (The disaster of Rome 2 release and the subsequent patching and reworking until 'Emperor Edition, as well as the Development of Atilla was very much influenced by the forum feedback...family trees and Naval transports anyone?). So its rather silly to attempt to suggest the forum as a platform to raise an issue is the wrong way to do things. And if Wargaming is somehow different in terms of actively not listening to consumer cut-backs, i'll question their viability as a company in the face of the market starting to open up to competitors who will probably adopt the typical formula of the forums as a feedback area (armored Warfare for instance is something i've yet to look over that) -
I have a lot of Gold in WoTs and consdidering the accounts are going to be unified, i don't need more in WoW...specifically as there's currently very little to spend it on tech-tree wise. Your also missing out on a very integral point- that of relative cost. I'll by Doubloon packages every few months on their own...but as most people are paid monthly/on a salary, you then can't afford to fork out massive amounts of money relatively in one go- so in another month, i'll buy a ship or so. Adding them together like here (which is absolutely ridiculous too in terms of the price inflating) means that budget wise, i literally can't stretch, even if i'd like to. The ship on its own the other hand this month, i'd be able to, and then next month if needed perhaps get the doubloons. If that's the case, then i have some sympathy with the EU team, but they really need to make sure these points are hammered home. Its something i've seen again and again on these forums, as well as many of the unofficial Wargaming forum groups and reddit/youtube. And agreed- i'm not advocating getting rid of bundles, but offering like nearly every other company does- the choice to get the product in a different setting (on its own), in typical business practice this actually maxamizes sales as your then getting in the people who can't or wouldn't otherwise buy the product- There's literally no downside.Agreed- If its not offered on its own later, then they'll be major issues!

I'm actually sick of this. WoT and WoW i've tended to readily engage with premium tanks/ships, a lot of them are pretty cool, and i've enjoyed playing. BUT-these were on their own, i'm not interested in the rest of the crap. I just want the ship on its own- then i'll gladly throw money at it. I don't want some artificially inflated bundle with a bunch of flags and in-game currency i don't need. I don't understand why common sense isn't used- Allow for both Bundles and just the ship- release at the same time and watch the money roll in from a happy player-base who have the option to get the store item that fits their needs. You'll make a lot more money this way as those holding off due to the bundles (like myself) would jump at the chance to get it on its own. Also though there's that other downright disgusting practice of only seemingly doing this to the EU server...and what's more of inflating the prices for the EU server... Its very bad practice, and something that should be looked into to. It contributes to i feel the growing feeling of annoyance at War-gaming. Which is a shame, i actually do love World of Warships but the bundle practice and to an extent their unequal and strange treatment of different regions is putting me off from putting as much money into the game as i otherwise would. The final thought- all of this is further confounded by the lack of any semblance of response from the EU community team or the company. I mean seriously, i've been perusing this forum since i really started playing WoWs and there seems to be so little help and engagement to issues raised such as the above, which i've seen raised time and time again. Its the pinnacle of a poor customer experience thus far.
