As a DD player I love the radar. It gives an extra challenge. If you look at the ships that are most played, only a few use Radar. It is quite easy to know those. Every decent player will choose Radar above its plane. You have many games without a CV, but almost all games have DD's. If you don't like the challenge, don't play DD's. DD play is all or nothing. High risk, High reward. Your detectability range is always lower as the CA with Radar. Keep your distance from them. They will only use their radar when they know there is a DD around. So in the neighbourhood of a radar CA be extra carefull. With an hight tier US or IJN DD you can try to stealth torp ships and get out of the Radar range. If you are detected by radar it is your mistake or well played by CA player. As an high tier DD player you should know the duration , distance and cooldown of the different radars.

O dammed, I fed a Troll.

I might have made the wrong conclusion, but you said that it would be imposible to play with friends on higher tier. So that fiend wouldn't have that tier vessel. Otherwise it wouldn't make it imposible. So that friend is inexperienced for that tier.

I have to disagree with you. As you know, gameplay changes a lot when you go up tiers. When you take an inexperienced player up to high tier, that player can't do anything. First because his ship isn't realy fit for that tier (with some exceptions). 2nd the player isn't familiair with the gameplay on that tier. I don't see where is the fun for that inexperienced player. I don't see the fun for the rest of the team. So not allowing these fail divisions is protecting that inexperienced player and the team. Futher more, a lot of faildivisions is due to that a player forgot to change the ship. I can only conclude that not allowing fail divisions is showing more consideration as allowing them. Don't forget members of the forum are asking for this as from day one.

WG why do you keep pushing for less map variety?
Blue_Bug replied to wibe33's topic in General Discussion
I don't think this is the way it works. The maps themself takes litle server resources. Much more server resources are into calculation of shells and positions. So there is litle to win by map rotation on the server. I kept track this weekend of the maps I got into a tier 6 and 7 ship. The tier 7 got 7 different maps in 14 different games. The tier 6 got 7 different maps in about 13 games. So I don't think I can complain about map variety. People can get unlucky thats all. Remember that besides that maps aren't available for certain tiers, there are also regulary new maps for those tiers. -
Dam't maybe time to play co-op. Didn't know the bots where that realistic

I looked at your stats to give you the best advise. At the moment youre highest tier is 3. I use new commanders in all ships till and including tier 4. After that you will have to choose. At the moment you have 6 low tier ships. please note that there are over 300 ships in game. It is imposible to play them all in one day. The other problem is that you will need more experienced commanders in your high tier ships. Ofcourse it is posible to use new commanders everywhere , but you will be in a disadvantage. It is good for understanding the game to play all classes so I would advise you to do that. However at some point everyone will have its favorite classes. Even whithin classes there are big differences. So at some point I would advise you to sell some ships and only keep your favorites. Please keep in mind that in this game the criticall factor isn't xp but silver. If you keep all your ships you will find your self in the need of silver very soon. In that case you will have a lot of ships you don't can play due to to less time. You spend a lot on portslots and you will have a big shortage of silver. I can tell you it isn't fun if you have the exp to research a new ship but you can't buy the vessel due to a shortage of silver. In future keep quite a few tier 5 and 6 ships. These seems to be the best money makers.

German premium BB - where's my Scharnhorst? Also: New ARP missions
Blue_Bug replied to Varian_Dorn's topic in General Discussion
If you look at the past, you will notice that before the change from "In game for testing purposes" to "available for everyone" there Always is an update. So you don't have to look for those ships before your client is updated. However it will not say that directly after such an update the ships are available. Even now there are ships in the game who never saw the premium shop. -
[0.5.9] 2 Bases Already Capped, Before Match Starts
Blue_Bug replied to t3h3th32's topic in General Discussion
So If you agree with WG you are a blind sheep. Even as the players give good arguments. Or do you realy mean that people who don't agree with you are blind sheep. Capping those caps was without risk and Skill, at the same time it is rewarded the same as capping a risky cap. I realy don't understand how you can defend that. That all caps are free xp for DD's doesn't seems a too bright remark. Do we play the same game ? Most of the time the (neutral) caps are defended. If not it is the choose of the oposite team, and might be a good situation awereness of the player who capped. However I agree with your last remark about the standaard batle mode (I would have choosen some other words). -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Blue_Bug replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Met our Daddy (Trigger_happy_dad) in his Tier 10 CV yesterday. I was playing in my Gearing. Problem was that he knew I was close to him, so he began evasive manouvres. Was around 7 K from him. Just before I wanted to release my torps on him , I noticed an easier target (the other CV who was sailing right to me, instead of sailing away). I changed targets. After killing that CV went back for Daddy. He escaped in time. He did rather well as only survivor. Pitty we ran out of time. Would love to have him on my kill list. I think I kept both CV's rather busy for a while. -
Recommended / exceptional ships per tier?
Blue_Bug replied to brutus007's topic in Newcomers' Section
As you are an inexperienced player I don't recomend to buy a high tier premium. High Tier play is a lot different as low and mid tier. A lot depends on your play style. An agresive player will like other vessels as a player who waits a bit more. As you say you like Ca the most I will limit it to that class. Please note that for a better understanding of the game it is better to have some experience in all classes. It is also important what lines you want to advance. It is better to have premiums in that line. In my opinion the IJN CA's are the best high tier CA's. The problem is that the number of premium IJN CA's are limited. Out of my head only the Atago (tier 8) is at the moment available. The Atago is the best tier 8 CA, but I wouldn't recommend it to inexperienced players. The RU-Ca's are good also. The Svietlana, kirov and Budyonny are all great Ca's. From tier 5 they are more fighters on a distance If you don't mind that your option in premiums are very good. Almost a must have is the Murmansk. Also the Molotov isn't a bad choise. -
I understand the problem. What I don't understand is why you use incoming fire alert on a DD. There are so many better skills for a DD on that skill level. With a DD I always asume that I will be shot at, the moment I'm spoted. Most of the time I'm right.

The first time I remember was march last year about the announcement of the CBT.

o my god, first you ruin the 12 mln milestone. then the weekend I kept free for playing you have the most important mision out of order. Time to get your things in order ! GNB seems to be a totral failure in the end !!!! / end rage !
-
Without a replay we can't say any thing for sure. It might be that you hit the side of the vessel. A hack is unlikely. All hits are procesed on the server. So it is vervy dificult to do so. People who have those skills don't use them for a game.

Adressing Great Naval Battles Event Feedback
Blue_Bug replied to MrConway's topic in General Discussion
I realy hope you are kidding us. If we look at how the milestones are build up , each milestone gives us a bigger price. Except the last one. By calling it a secret you created an expectation that it will be something great. The last 5 weeks people were guessing what that secret will be. No one from WG ever lowered those expectations. I hope I don't have to teach WG the first lessons of Marketing. You kindly admited that WG made a mistake. I have always learned that if you make a mistake, you try to solve it. This is not the first, second or thirth mistake WG makes. The same mistake is made over and over. Every time (including this time) WG promises better communication and to not make this mistake again. I know many players who played the game the last weeks more than they planned. I can tell you, they are all very disapointed. I can also tell you, that WG just achieved the oposite effect as they wanted with this event. I kindly ask WG to reconsider their decision not to upgrade the 12 mln milestone. In my opinion upgrading is the only way WG can restore some credibility and show us that WG cares about their players. -
a bit late. Just after the event it was already on sale.

In my experience most BB go for A, even if enemie BB's are closer. Most CA's go for shooting at BB even if enemie CA is closer. To much CA's even shoot at BB even if a enemie DD is closer. Edit : most of the time I'm playing CA or DD

I doubt it, could be a bug somewhere.

#GrandNavalBattles Grand Naval Battles event thread (post your stuff here! instead of openening multiple threads)
Blue_Bug replied to havaduck's topic in General Discussion
Guess it is a bug somewhere (with website or in preparing the weekend event misions). Lets wait for an oficial statement -
Sorry, it is early here and not enough coffee. Was confused with last known position.

If you use the vanila client you can turn it off. If you use mods, it might be imposible

I'm not realy busy with XP and credits during the game. I'm just busy with trying to win. So I have no opinion about the rewards. But calling capping in a standard batle doing nothing isn't very smart in my opinion. It might win the batle for you. At least it will lure some ennemies to the cap who can't fight anywhere else. How often do you see multiple ships searching for one pesky DD to avoid that the DD will cap. Most of the time the DD has to sneak within the enemie lines to get there. In my opinion it is a very good way to get innitiative and hold ships away from the rest of the batle. You might call it doing nothing, I call it prove of situation awereness and going for the win.
