Miss hosho seemed fine for meh in tier 4, but then that was before 0.8.7 (have to delete games and other stuff due to the backwards way the game downloads patches on steam).

At the moment subs move as fast on the surface as they do underwater. whether that will change or not. Too be honest though, i think subs will be an absoloute paint to deal with, espcially that murican sub with 18km acoustic torpedoes so enjoy getting fat torps following around teh map making angreh noises behind you. Also first ping makes torps homing, not semi homing (makes no sense) they just have shite turning speeds (for balans but it wouldn't surprise me if russian subs got really good homing torp turn speeds).- 207 replies

Ok, i assumed subs would have hard counters like hydro and radar (i think they still do) especially with hydro when it comes to deep diving. i hope subs arent just mostly relegated to hunting each other or it becomes like the cv reeeework where peeps are now stuck with dealing as much damage and kills as possible before the other sub. i assumed they would supplement a fleet, almost like some werid alternate universe where subs made ships onsolete rather than cv’s making most ships classes outclassed or pointless. well subject to change but i will see that when it happens frankly. anyone guess when we see angreh subways hit the server? -

Yeah, i thought homing torps would be an entirely different thing. Hope they dont get acoustic torps lol otherwise those will just follow you everywhere you then i guess dat torpedo plushie will come in hand while rocking back and forth just seeing nasteh subways chase you all game along. spotting seems to be really iffy, if i read correctly subs i think when at the deepest dive can only be detected 2km away from any ship i think, plus depth charges seem automatic. Im suprised they got homing torps i thought they could fire bursts of non guided torps (so 6 for tier 6 8 for tier 8 and so on) giving a more emphasis on positional gameplay and ambushing plus harassment tactics. also during the stream a friendly bot dd just rammed dat u-boute lol, probs a bit salty. oh and i think they get like 1.66km detc range from angreh planus if im not mistaken. -

I think the stream just ended, either i missed russkie subs or they just didn't do any gameplay of dem. Sad but oh well. Makes me what the CC's think of subs and meinkraft plus podings. -

@Europizza Well your topic is gonna be famous lol. Maybe some pagan online to calm the nerves? Either way, im wondering how depth charges from CV's will work (does dat mean miss yorkie will finally thunder into world of warships?). And if BB's will get any counter measures whatsoever, since subs will get the snorkel consumable for oxygen. oh i forgot r.i.p poi as well. -

I actually didn't notice it couldn't be spotted while fully submerged. Although the homing torps seem pretty gud im waiting for russian sub gameplay after sabaton, hopefully they will give us a better showcase of everything. At least at tier 6. You cant ping the aft if its covered up but one ping is enough to keep them on track so doing the one two might be one of the more viable strategies for subs, was hoping they would use gaede however since she has hydro. but whatever. (unless wargaming plans to give hydro to every DD but not as gud as german DD's for nation flavour or whatever). -

Yeah the farragut actually tried to dodge and still got hit twice, with the murican sub it didn't get hit probs to a bit of screen watching and late pinging as well but you could seem them try and curve inwards. I think russian subs are next after the concert i think. Feel sorry for bb's that try to dodge lol, especially if the sub has half a brain and your DD's are ded. Also radar i think can't spot subs even with periscope lvl, but hydro can spot regardless of dive lvl. But yeah seems hilarious watching a sub just torp a DD the thing thats surpossed to kill them. Again up for changing and iteration processes but we will see, might see them at the end of the year. -

I mean its still subjective to change, but i don't know how long the process is and whether they will be similar or different when they get released. (although i doubt it will change much) I don't know if the german subs have better tracking, mainly because the murican subs they were showcasing dd 'counterplay' (which you can keep dd's spotted for ages without help from teammates lol). they die easy to gun fire, especially if damaged by depth charges but depth charges have a range of around 0km-1.5km if that, heard something about hedgehog missle as well and cvs dropp depth charges but we will see. they replenish oxygen slowly and get a good amount of oxygen from what i've seen, but germans won't be the only ones to get a snorkel as that will be a consumable for all subs. IJN subs not implemented due to wacky designs and someother reason (i think long lance torps im not sure entirely). btw the above is all at tier 6, imagine the higher tiers 0_0. You can also ping one target fire at them, and then ping another target making fient torpeding possible. -

I can agree on teh last part actually. felt like my face was collapsing in on itself half the time, those bloody horn and gun noises doe.. They look ok atm, but just imagining in game, where all the dd's go binbin land and you got some of this *angreh sub noises* In the background, you can scream or play sabaton last stand. Also speaking of sabaton, the sound engineer isn't doing a gud job because the audio is off and pretty quiet so doesn't have a much oomff. (also i thinkt they do moar damage pre hit, they seem to be able to citadel ships if you hit their belt section for any underwater citadels, at least thats what i heard from the stream. -

Well the torps turn slowly, but even an active farragut dodging still got hit by two torps (dropped to around 2%-4% of total hp), you need to ping doe but its do able from the gameplay so far atm. You can out turn the torp but you can fire two sets so dodging is going to be very tuff. Especially if they decide more than one sub is a gud idea then you can basically take toineh monitor and put it into chonkeh binbin. I think you get a normal warning from what ive seen. Also you can get your toineh smoll torpedo plushie!!! Yay! -
@L0V3_and_PE4CEHey! you can get your toineh smoll plushie torpedo that you have alwayds wanted! make sure you do da comp quick before mister torp goes! make sure to love the new homing torps as well while you scream at your monitor because your cv can barely spot subs! Yay! obviously in testing but makes me reckon if they will be somewhat similar to they are now or massively different.

Well, no they are going to be in game for subs. (although im assuming your watching the stream anyways). they seem to be quite good so far. but obviously this is still in testing. they can even citadel ships but they have to actually hit the citadel section. r.i.p below waterline shipus.- 207 replies

Ohhh....homing torps can be pinged to hit another target even if fired at another target (this allows for pretty smart gameplay). but as seen they do turn slowly. @FerrowTheFox time to scream meh thinks al doe still in toineh testingz. lol i think you can citadel ships as well but you have to hit the citadel itself with torps. -

That homing torpedo thing seems too be quite good, you could fire four torps (two on each side) ping the toineh or chonkeh ship and then watch them home in to said target (they managed to almost killa farragut on stream this way). Also subs seem to favour positioning and reading the map so most subs will probs be bad anyways since they will have a high skill floor (unless enemy dd's suicide at the start). Havent seen gameplay for russian subs however, you can also cause flooding too subs with depth charges. no counterplay for BB's yet untill they know how players play subs. Think subs appear closer to caps judging from current gameplay. @ShinGetsu @El2aZeR wot do you guys think? -

seems like all subs will get a snorkel consumable, so its not going to be a german only thing (they said this just a few secs ago on the stream). Also acoustic torps will be able to follow Subs even if they dive. -

watching it on youtubings. saw a bit of sub gameplay, depth charges seem uninspiring sort of. Makes me wonder how they will programme torps for homing and magnetic abilites. this will be interesting. also meinkraft and podin are now in teh game (or at least next patch maybe a little later anyways). -
