If you were paying attention, I'm not the one who cared what other people do. That was @Sunleader, not me. -

Well... if they can't be bothered to do any research and read any of the threads posted here, not much I can do about that. I think the bogus upvotes the game gets on Steam are a much bigger concern, frankly. -

You sound a little worried that they might be making a huge mistake thinking like that, and very disappointed when they discover the true nature of things in WoWS. At least that's what you are saying sounds like to me. I can't fathom why, though, if this is such a great game to play. -

A lot depends on what kind of a team you get. Some are very bad, but some are very good. It's pot luck, really. I like some operations more than the others, myself, and I don't play much any more here on EU, but when I play it's going to be one of the random operations with a ship I like. I thought we were the echo chamber? -

Since these days what I mostly keep talking about how the game's gone to the dogs and the various ways in which it sucks, I don't know who I would be attracting to this game based on that. Some people with too much money on their hands and who are obvious gluttons for punishment and like to be maltreated and shafted in unspeakable ways. WG will have what those people are looking for. -

Well.. stopping playing ain't gonna keep me from bellyaching on the forum, if that's what you were hoping for. I'm not going to uninstall, mostly because I still play a few battles on ASIA, and may also occasionally play some operations on EU. Probably not much anything else. I'm not paying any attention to the missions, rewards, or the buttons WG keeps hiding on their website. I'm tired of being one of their Pavlov's subjects. This is my strategy of not completely losing what I've invested, but being mindful not to fall for their psychological traps any more. -
Yeah... I for one am hoping for a mod that would make the whole screen UI. I just love gauges, buttons, switches and displays.

Now, gentlemen and ladies, I've uncovered super sikrit footage that shows Operation Bathtub in preparation. This clip I'm about to share features training in progress. It's raw footage, they'll be adding the CGI effects later, but we already get a fair idea how the mine laying procedure will be implemented. I'm sure by April WG will have everything running smoothly! -

Except you forget that some of us were here at the beginning. I joined in open beta. Most of what I've spend on this game goes back to the early years when this was a very promising title. In short, back then the game was worth spending on. Now it isn't, but of course what I've sunk into this game in terms of money is already paid, and what time I've devoted to playing this game when it was in its prime is time I won't be getting back. In some sense, because I was having fun back then it's not something that can be considered a total loss. In short, I'm no longer willing to throw good money after bad money, the wreck of this game ain't worth paying more, IMO. In a sense, I've cut my losses. No more spending and very little playing. I'm essentially letting the remaining premium time I have run out, essentially being wasted for all practical purposes, because I consider that less of a waste than spending time playing this game. That's how bad is has got to in my view. Here's a quick and dirty run down how WG for the most part IMO ruined this game: 1) CV rework; 2) map rework; 3) captain skill rework; 4) implementation of the subs. I'm sure there are a lot of smaller misteps as well, as well as a string of PR disasters, but those four are the biggest mistakes what I think they've made in terms of gameplay. Others may, and probably will have different opinion on the matter. -

With the subs being allowed in Ranked, I'm hoping there's a silver lining... even a threadbare one. Unless the popularity of the subs grows with this decision, there will actually be more modes to spread the existing sub population overall. That may result in there being fewer subs in the other modes. Or then it will just ruin one more game mode permanently and that's it. -

That would possibly be a smart move....however, have you heard of the tragedy of Sunk Cost Fallacy? A very nice pair of ears, yes. -

Well, naturally I would have preferred the original because it was so cool, but let's wait and see. I'll have a go at first and decide later. Here's a dirty little secret; as a kid, I had a submarine bath toy. It mostly just sank to the bottom and stayed there. Perhaps WG should look into that as an inspiration. -

What! Of course it's a switch. You throw it, and it switches the circuit on and off. A push button switch is a type of switch, most light switches on the wall I believe are either rocker switches or dimmers. Though, I've seen push button switches too. On behalf of the community, thank you for this service. -

Can bots have friends? They must have recommended WoWS to their friends. -
Deep down much of the game is designed around selfish playstyles which I think is part of the reason why we don't usually get to see proper teamplay. Everyone is mindful of their own damage and kill score to the point of wrecking gameplay and even throwing the battle. Of the two alternatives you outlined, only the second makes actually sense in terms of submarine gameplay. If WG wanted to have subs in the randoms/coop, then they should have clearly opted to implement it in such a way that the second way becomes all but mandatory for the player to choose. This might have included the very interesting option of making the subs spawn somewhere behind the enemy team.
-
So.. in essence we have the sub which relies on a set of gimmicks like the ping/homing torpedoes along with exaggerated capabilities set against ships with limited countermeasure availability and also essentially relying on a gimmick, the ASW planes. WG game development at its finest....
-
Meaning you rely on your own sub to sort out the problem while laying back yourself?
-
The video says subs will not work for gameplay reasons. Quote "doesn't fit with the gameplay". There's no plainer way of putting it. While in the seven years the meta has degraded, the major game mechanics themselves have not, unless someone has information to the contrary. None of the changes they've made since then are relevant for the submarine issue, or if they are, they have not provided a solution but compounded on the problems. The two major mistakes WG has made are the CV rework and the implementation of the subs. Period.
