Buying a high tier premium ships is most ill advisable, even more so for a beginning player. Especially now, when tier 8 ships regularly end up against tiers 9 and 10, the effectiveness of that investment becomes somewhat devalued as a result. It is much better to start grinding a few lines, at least until tiers 5/6/7 until you have figured out which particular play style suits you. While doing so, you will also be able to get Free XP. The problem with Free XP is it that it accumulates very slowly. Elite ships (fully reasearched) generate ship based XP, which can be converted to Free XP but at a cost, typically 25 XP points/ per 1 Doubloon. Conversion is only advisable, if ever, when there is a 'discount' ratio of 35 points per Doubloon. As for the Missouri herself, she's probably the only premium ship I am happy to own, mostly the others have turned out to be represent varying degrees of disappointments. She is most similar with the US battleships North Carolina and Iowa when it comes to performance. However, she can be very profitable even for an average player.

^This. Hit and sunk.

Yes, it starts to sound stupider and stupider... not your fault though, it's like trying to explain a Monty Python sketch that defies conventional logic... oh, and most important of all, do not mention the war!

We can have borderless windows, when can we start having borderless maps?

Interesting.. so they changed the ensign at some point. Otherwise it would have been pretty fantastical, a Soviet ship with a name spelt according to pre-1918 orthographic rules... as for the eagles, I don't think destroyers had those, only cruisers and (pre)dreadnoughts/battleships at bow and stern. I found a page with some schematics and info http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=89412.0 it seems that the in-game Okhotnik is an exaggeration of the real life Okhotnik class destroyers/torpedo cruisers. For what reason though...

The real life Okhotnik looks to have been a smaller ship, built in 1906 by Crighton in Abo (present day Turku), a sister ship of the General Kondratenko. She struck a mine and sunk on September 26, 1917 with a loss of 52 men.

I am a little confused, this is supposedly a vessel of the Russian VF but she flies the Soviet Ensign... am I again missing something obvious here?

Pan-Asian line. What do you think?

Point taken. So, it would have to be based on what is available in terms of Chinese ships. -
Pan-Asian line. What do you think?
Karasu_Browarszky replied to yankee05's topic in General Discussion
Since Japan has their own line, that leaves only a few nations capable of having any ships worth mentioning. China, meaning both PRC and RoC, now have one premium DD respectively. Apart from those two, India might be the most promising candidate and, as you said, DD's would be easiest to go with when building a Pan-Asian line. RoC Navy also has frigates, how would you fit frigates into WoWS idea of ship types, would they be cruisers or DD's? These ships might be 'too new' though to fit into WoWS. They also seem to have had some IJN destroyers, but I'd say the most interesting ship might be the ex-HMS Aurora https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Aurora_(12) Though.. there might be reasons in her.. let's say service history for not including her.. How far west would the concept of Pan-Asia reach, btw? -
New staff member Sael reporting for duty!

Welcome on board! -
I moved my Trashkent captain to Udaloy, cause he is my Trashkent captain so I wanted him back on that ship. I, too, am now a bit upset as he needs to be retrained. Is this really 'working as intended' or should we all start submitting tickets?

Will the EU server get anything similar to the NA carnival?

I am sure he did...something something that he is now famous for... but I'll let our Irish friends to fill in the blanks in the story. -

The ForceTM is strong with this one. -
It's just weird that my experience with SC's is the exact diametrical opposite. Good at start, then petering out, total **** now.
-
The problem is, every time you choose TYL you loose out on stuff. While it is said the SC chance is double with TYL's, double something that is a very low chance is still a low chance, and with these special upgrades being slipped into the SC's now, the chance of getting something really good are next to nothing IMHO.
-
Overall, I like the sound of this, might be a very good idea but like so many other things, would depend on the implementation.
-
Anything come out of it? For a long long time I tried TYL containers, about 2 SCs in a hundred TYL's or so. Not worth it either. Now trying consumables container, got one SC yesterday with one of those useless special upgrades, this one was spotter plane upgrade, might be otherwise useful on some ships except it takes slot 2 where there are better upgrades available.

Can we get a Horn Button to prevent collisions?

Might want Eduard Hill as a special captain as well then. -

Think you mean this: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/75275-blind-ship-drivers/page__p__1677096__hl__+collision#entry1677096 That shows up if you search for 'collision', this thread now shows up if you search for 'horn'. But, yes. It would be good to have just one thread for this discussion. -

Guilty as charged Automated horns is something that actually might be useful IMO. I mean before there is a collision. -

Horns on tanks? Why do I get that strange feeling.. what's it called... 'Déjà vu'... I think the tanks had those at some point. (I read both WoT and WoWS forums... for a second there I thought I was on WoT forum... until the fishy smileys caught me by surprise.) -

I somehow suspect we would end up paying for even that gift.. possibly even those NA doubloons as well...
