To date have we seen any tier 9 or 10 ships that you cannot earn by playing the game? (I mean that you can get either by coal, seel, free xp etc.) If they were to provide higher tiers exclusively for money, then I'd start to worry.

Yes, I'm sure there is some comforting explanation like he was not only playing but watching a movie, reading a book and cooking a dinner at the same time. -

IMO currently the Sovetsky Soyuz. I have the stock range, not that the top range is anything to write home about.. reload is painfully slow, it's not fitted out with naval guns but with American shotguns, the secondaries and AA are a bleeding joke and the armor is made of recycled Sovetsky cardboard doused in potentially hazardous environmentally unsafe highly flammable toxic chemical waste. (And, IIRC, it is the only BB I remember having detonated when receiving a torpedo hit on bow...) I... must have added a compensating factooooor...... -

@El2aZeR was on the same team as me.. unfortunately I had the crappiest BB in the entire game.. and the battle became nothing short of a complete fiasco.... -

A flanker not a brawler could be a good thing.. although sometimes I enjoy just stupidly charging against 4 BB's and assorted collection of minor enemies... ... mind you, I'm just as bad on high tiers as I am on mid tiers, but I usually have more fun in high tier battles than mid tier ones. -

I play a lot on higher tiers and I have no idea what you could be meaning.... -

Same here, I want to first check out the Yoshino when she comes and then see what else I can afford (if anything). Just close your eyes and think of England! -

@Crysantos has experience with the Georgia, since the ship is now released he might be able to tell us more. I only have experience with sinking his Georgia. (On the more serious side, how would the ship stack up against other tier 9's such as the Musashi and Jean Bart, for instance?) -
With me at least what often happens is that I spend a lot of time focus on aiming in binocs view.... and then it is easy to lose track of what your team mates around are doing.. or more to the point, what they aren't doing... That is the only smart approach. However, the real problem is that half the enemy fleet is surprisingly often approaching you from the opposite direction completely undetected. That is surprising considering that there can be even BB's in that line up... if that situation occurs, especially if you are the lead ship on your side, it's basically game over.

Good point. Proper recon is the key to victory.

Where is the promissed ARP hide in port?

So, the only benefit to these ships is the ability to transfer captains to them without retraining? -
Yup.. seen that happen especially on maps with a block of land mass in the middle. Ideally you would have a superior force clash head on against their weaker flank which will win the match as long as) their weaker flank does not get enough time to retreat and regroup and b) your weaker flank knows what they are doing. IMO the stronger flank should 'push' and the weaker flank should 'kite', but.. in reality things fall apart all too easily for that to happen.
-
Oh, man. I don't like either of those much and I have them both. The Shimakaze is my preferred weapon, I also have the Grozovoi but the captain is not fully trained. I think the Khabarovsk would probably work better in a game with more 'real' DD's that she could give support to. Currently I feel she is just an uptiered but inferior Tashkent.

It's curious you bring up the 'lemmingtrain' as this is usually made fun of though in my view it is the proper way to conduct the battle. Although, in reality, this is often complicated by the fact that the train is headed in a tactically unsound direction. This get's worse, IMO, on maps with multiple caps and is one reason why I don't like the concept that much, but if it's needed to get the action going... just wish they would have a little more of some tangible tactical benefits to them besides the point count.
-
@Yedwy and @Beastofwar your tactical position on the map overall is one of the hardest problems I am trying to solve as you both have pointed out. Ideally you would want all the enemy, at least the potentially most dangerous ones to be in one direction from your position... but how do you manage to actually do that?
-
I been on teams that use formation but.. since they mostly use a formation known as 'Scattered Hen-house' the end is quick and predictable....
-
Uhm... what I really like is (this doesn't seem to work with all ships) knocking the bow tankers' bow turrets off....

Commander retraining unfair extra-charging

Commander retraining unfair extra-charging
Karasu_Browarszky replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Er... yes correct in the sense that you can only train your captain for one ship at a time, does not matter if it is a silver or premium ship. Mysteriously they forget everything they learned before, so every time you decide to assign your captain to another silver ship you have to rinse and repeat the procedure. But you don't have to use gold if you got at least a half decent premium ship for that nation. Or if you got spare points with which to speed up the training, or if you have patience to grind with half skills (wouldn't do that on higher tiers...). But absolutely the only thing you need to use gold for is respecing your skills (except on the very rare occasions they have allowed us to do this free). -
This is what I would do as long as I have the time to react and especially if they got the numbers. The problem is I don't always see them early enough to disengage safely. Suddenly enemy ships start popping up like magic mushrooms or something and I end up trying to bow tank several enemy ships virtually alone while most of my team is elsewhere busily losing the battle....

Commander retraining unfair extra-charging
Karasu_Browarszky replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Here's my two cents worth... I only use gold when I feel I absolutely have to reset their skills. I hate it, but I guess it's WG's way of making their money. Otherwise I either retrain the captains on premium ships, pay up the 200k and then retrain them on premium ships, or - if in a hurry - use those captain XP points to finish up their training. -
If suddenly becomes very much a team game when someone decides it's you who let the team down...
