Account suspended - chargeback issue
Karasu_Browarszky replied to Ironcl4d18's topic in General Discussion
If you haven't accepted any gifts from dodgy characters... it would have to be something that went wrong with your payment. One thing is are those transfers real time or is there a delay? Dare I also ask if you had enough funds on that account at the time the payment went thru? Just some questions that come to mind not sure if they are the right questions, of course. -

Also this, if you haven't seen it. Did you mean a bank payment (transfer) btw? https://eu.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wot/article/10214/ -
A potential solution to camping Battleships

Heh.. thanks, division might be interesting but what concerns is more the skill gap so you might have difficulties following battle with all the facepalming you'd have to do. Most cruisers I really don't like because they get deleted so quickly (open water warrior here). I have a similar problem with gunboat DD's, I have problems with hitting them myself but for some reason nobody else seems to have a problem with aiming and hitting DD's... that is somewhat, well, puzzling. Another reason why I don't like most of them is the crazy ballistics... think of the Atlanta and you get an idea of what I mean. -

Funnily enough, I don't like to play either cruisers or gunboat DD's much. No, I tell a lie. I don't like to play them at all, though I occasionally give it a go with varying but disastrous results. You can't add that much strategic depth to a game that has napkin sized battle maps. Theoretically, if we had proper maps I could see 'bow tanking/angling' as a more worthwhile play style because in that case it would really allow you to reach objectives and do combat while on the move. In operations, for instance, I would choose that approach myself, but in randoms and ranked I customarily run out of map no matter what kind of tactics I try to use. My preferred style is zig zag angling with as many turrets in play as I can manage. I mentioned it because IMO the game has plenty of mechanics that don't actually involve much the sort of skills that are relevant except in terms of the said mechanics themselves. Yes, I grant you there is some skill required in how well you can make those mechanics work in your advantage, but I don't personally consider such an advantage 'fair'. -

So... in what way does bow tanking involve more skill than sailing and maneuvering a ship while firing broadside salvos? And what else is HE spamming from smoke if not a dpm contest with no skill involved at all? -
Kremlin- have any one noticed any change lately

Concentration of fire power? It is the best side because it allows you to do bring all your main guns to fire at the enemy ships. Bow on when you are charging at the enemy battle line, not when you are camping next to a beach resort. Yeah, the reward system is a problem. Sadly, as it is, it promotes less than ideal game play. Well... my thinking is influenced by older single player games that actually do give you the feeling you involved in a naval battle rather than a camp site BBQ with wet logs. I do not think submarines have any place in 'actual fleet engagements' and should be limited to specific modes and/or operations. Unless you go full arcade and make them all yellow and get Beatles members for captains. Yes, I understand this is why we got the points. My problem is it places too much emphases on capping and mostly, if not always, those caps don't actually serve in tactical purpose so they are 'gimmicky' IMO. The point system is needed to simulate disengagement and retreat which is not possible otherwise according to game rules. No argument there. -
Yes. You wish. I wish. A lot of other people wish.
-
In which case.. the Russian/Soviet line seems to suffer from a split personality... or shattered more likely as they have a total of 3 different flags.
-
And... some flags don't even get that option.
-
If we ever get the missing operations back, I wonder what the implications are for those... on the other hand, remember how every time you take out an AA build ship out in the randoms, there are no CV's around. So, look at the bright side, you get to spend 4 pts on something more on something that makes your ship more versatile. Yeah.. us mathematically challenged would prefer something more 'linear'....

Ships which are no more....
Karasu_Browarszky replied to Hopeless_Guppy's topic in General Discussion
Well, right now I don't think what the Slava will be like if and when it gets released. Funnily enough, this ship has the name of a real Soviet Navy ship even if it is one of their 'creamy legends'.... -
So... rename it to 'Massive Pt Waste'....
-
Ah.. okay. The only explanation I could think of it does not work with manual AA. I've never tried it with manual AA cause I no longer have manual AA (now Massive AA). Judging by the information nor will I have it. I made use of the free captain spec recently just for this purpose....
-
They changed that feature. You point with your mouse and press O to bolster your chosen side. And then suddenly the enemy planes are on your other side and you have less effective AA.
-
Thank you both for the explanation. That was my impression, too, based on what's been said on the forums. Wasted on bad AA ships, and not much good on good AA either as they really don't need it so better use those 4 pts elsewhere. The reason I was confused was because the other day someone in the randoms said the exact opposite. They must had had a very wrong idea about the changes or something.
-
I'm still confused whether it is worth spending 4 pts on...

I have to say I'd prefer something completely different if the idea is to achieve dynamic gameplay in imitation (if not simulation) of actual fleet engagements. 1. Proper armor schemes to reduce bow tanking and angling. (We want to see them ships moving!) 2. Bigger maps and/or fewer rocks to allow for room to maneuver. 3. Proper use of different ships types e.g. DD's screening against threats and using smoke to hide their team. 4. Rethinking the winning, capping and points mechanics. There are two ways of winning an engagement, sink the enemy fleet or drive them into retreat. Points mechanics is needed to reflect the retreat element. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

I was just spotted by our very own @NoobySkooby in battle right when I was trying to ram our own Salem.. we won the battle, no doubt also thanks to the directions of @Muppeteer. -

Aye, true that. Any nerfs would have to come through changes in the smoke mechanic itself which is something I would welcome. As for directly nerfing a premium ship.. give me an 'R', give me an 'E', give me an 'F'.... -

Remove smoke and the Kutuzov is no longer anywhere near that OP. Problem solved! Iowa for me was not such a good ship. I had much better battles on the North Carolina both in terms of performance and fun factor. IMO the NC is the best USN BB in the game. BTW, is this page messed up for anyone else now? https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Ships_of_U.S.A. -

It is. The 'Christmas garage' featured 'sophisticated music' and a woman occasionally screaming in the background. According to a popular legend, the screaming was caused by a well known hamster.
