Interesting, for me currently pretty much the only ships I may like to play above T8 are the Yamato class BB's, the Japanese DD's, and the Swedish DD's. I actually prefer tiers 4 to 6 over the high tiers otherwise. Tiers 6 to 8 for me are pretty exclusively ops only. -

Why haven't you tried the operations? No subs there, the only thing maybe is that don't equip any boosters because with ops.... the results may not always be what you expected. True, playing below T5 is pointless if you want to do the missions so that leaves with a couple of options. Either tell yourself 'screw the missions' and play what you want. Or do some warm up battles below T5 before starting your 'mission run', or use them for 'cooling down' before logging out. The gameplay on these lower tiers is different, and sometimes more rewarding, depending on individual preferences. -

Yes, so far they have let the old content remain online and accessible, but the entire Russian wiki was deleted Dec 2, 2022. https://wiki.wargaming.net/ru/World_of_Warships This sucks because, in case you didn't know it, the RU section had the most complete data, at least when it came to the special commanders, including voice clips IIRC. It might work better for others, I don't know how they can screw up even a simple menu script like this. Because of this reason, you may need to find and enter the other languages through other means than this on the site menu. Discord conversations are structured differently. You may have certain conversation lobbies, but not actual threads, so in other words it is a lot less user friendly and IMO cannot replace a proper forum in terms of useability.

@MaydayRoger Okay, I ran a little sound test with my Halland in the Training Room. I experimented with this Audio setup here: I experimented a bit, as I was saying, so I unticked the 'Wide dynamic range' like this: Unticking that seemed to bring a slight improvement. At least to me the engines seemed louder. The 'Loudness compensation' did not seem to make any difference.

The engine sound is very faint in comparison... true. I'm going to have to see what settings I have and what does the engine sound for me.

Overall, I'd say the engine sounds are the quietest sounds on that clip you hear. It's a very low key hum compared to the music, the engine telegraph, and the weapons and assorted clunks and other noises there. If you are using custom audio settings, you can adjust these separately. Also check if you haven't by mistake chosen some strange audio profile in the settings.

This might be an opportune moment that I, and some others too I think, have at times liked to bring up the idea that an era based tiering would have made much more sense for WoWS. -
