True. It is a huge improvement. There was just one premium ship I had ever sold, long long time ago, it was the Atlanta. It is still a bloody useless ship but I was able to get it restored. It is somewhat useful for some coop doable missions.

I see.. so that is possibly where the suggestion of a 'new folder' came from. Interesting, because conventional wisdom says do not change the default paths. I install programs on two different SDD's myself, and usually the only thing in the path I would change is the drive letter. I had a quick google on the ntdll.dll, and some place it was suggested the conflict could be caused an unrelated third program even if the report attributes it to the WGC.

The trouble is again the sunk cost fallacy. ....If you play and inevitably get to the last two stages... you just can't afford to miss out on the opportunity of getting a German BB (albeit an inferior paper one...) at a huuuge discount!

Yes, it is safest perhaps. I think running with administrator rights and in win 7 compatibility mode should have done the trick. The problem ofc is that WG has optimized the WGC for Win 10. I originally moved from Win 7 straight to Win 10 because upgrading Win 7 started to get unpleasant because MS purposely made the upgrades kind of spoopy and bloated to 'encourage' people to upgrade....

Okay, it's years since I tried to use Win 7 for anything, sorry. I did find some clues when googling that dll file not sure if they are of any help to you, though. Otherwise you need specialist help here, unless you find a dll fix online. Anyone know if you can just bypass the GC these days and start the game from the EXE file directly?

Are you using Win 10 or something else? BTW Iobit uninstaller is a software I have used to completely remove traces of some programs.

Hmm.. had a look at that thread of yours. Not sure why they say the default path is Program Files, it isn't. Also.. Win APPS lists the WGC, so you can uninstall it from there.

That doesn't look like my folder. Maybe because it isn't installed. Is that your installation folder or something? When installed GC is in some folder called ProgramData which I can't access directly, only through the GC shortcut properties.

Hm.. I hope someoen with more technical savvy gets to this thread. First, are you running the game while installing the GC? This could be a no no. Also the WG support, they seemed to be asking for you to send them the log file.
