Had a look at the in game tech tree and tried to figure out real Russian ships and paper ships based on that (and Wiki). Battleships (3 vs 1) real ships 75% Knyaz Suvorov - paper Gangut - real Imperator Nikolai - laid down meaning real enough Izmail - laid down, real Puzzling, because there were more real BB's built just before the war... why a paper design is needed? Cruisers (7 vs 0) real ships 100% Novik - real Bogatyr - real Svetlana - laid down, real Diana - real Aurora - real Oleg - real Varyag - real Nice, but why are so many of them premium ships? There are too few premium BB's and DD's in comparison... DD's (2 vs 2) real ships 50% Storozhevoi - paper Derzki - real Izyaslav - real Okhotnik - paper Why so many paper DD's? CV's (none) --% In total we get 12 real ships vs. 3 paper ships making Russian ships 80% real!

Sorry, don't know exactly. I think it requires HSF collaboration and I have no idea if WG has that license currently. Someone might have knowledge, if they can share it. @Sehales

There is really only one hull/gun selection on the Harekaze that makes sense IMO, the B hull. Whichever you choose, you'd then have to see how that hull set up compares against other DD's. I mostly like the Harekaze because it gives me a premium DD choice at tier 8 and can do what the Asashio cannot. But if you want American guns on a tier 8 DD, why not have a look at the Kidd. Reload times are not everything, but if you want those, Harekaze with C hull 4.0 s., Kidd 3.3 s.

One of my many cousins was a submarine skipper. Something tells me most of the Italian and perhaps other countries designs could already be found somewhere closer to home... such as the details of the Pugliese system ... I'm actually a bit surprised by how low the percentage is for German, Italian and French ships. Not at all surprised for the Japanese, American or British ships. I am not the least surprised by the low Soviet count though I would like to see a breakdown between Russian and Soviet ships...

On a DD without torps, you need different skills, and perhaps more skill than with a sneaky torp boat. This is also why I do relatively better with sneaky torp boats....

I seem to be a relic of a more civil era, in my day the 'unmentionables' were something the women folk would wear, not actually names or words used in conversation....

Hmm.. coming within 15 clicks is a risk with unspotted DD's and radar around (plus CV planes...). It seems the ship is better used in a defensive rather than offensive role then.

Of those, Friesland is the last one I would get. No torpedoes, no stealth, the AA is situational and you really have to know how to aim well and how to do knife fighting with this ship.

Well.. I know the famous Russian Admiral Dzhon Pol Dzhons is quoted as having said 'I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way.' However, he wasn't playing WoWS (AFAIK), because here I can get into harm's way even with a slow BB with bold tactics! By which I mean sailing directly to dead center on any map.
