Powercreep is a problem in WoT, but IMO not so much OP premiums. The biggest issues are class imbalance, poor maps and gold ammo (which defeats the point of game balance). WoWS gameplay is still leagues above that of WoT.

No. With the single exception of DD's possibly. We've seen a DD only game mode so we know what those would be like.

Well, the epicenter and the regular caps are an artificial mechanism attempting to represent missing realism and real concepts of determining who wins and who loses the battle. Sinking enemy ships is the other way of winning the battle, the more realistic one of the two. However, both of these mechanisms fail to achieve the desired effect of forcing the two teams to clash against each other.

Either way, there's no way of making this work so it's fair to all players. If the choice of missions difficulty/reward was a conscious one, yes, maybe, but in WG's model the choice is 'pre-emptive' as it were.

Unless I'm mistaken, the maps were modified Operations maps. Which also made them interesting in another way.

The really fun part was when the lower tier team won the battle.

I'd like these battles back too, they were very welcome variety. Especially if you were grinding ships of those tiers. I loved playing the under dog too that way even if we lost I could always live up to the expectations.

Ah.. thanks. I have a sneaky feeling those Legion of Honour containers were only available for doubloons/money, thus I probably never got any.

Didn't we have some French containers for coal... or were those some other French containers?

This principle of limited access to ships considered overly popular/OP certainly helps WG to farm much more profits out of Xmas gamble box sales to maintain a healthy game balance.

Haven't seen them myself yet, will try to do that when I log into the game... once this event is over, that is.

Indeed, WG titles are not Pay 2 Win, but Pay to Skip Playing.
