The problem is what are the implications of the situation you described for team play. Sure, it is the unicum's call, as you said (a potato BB wouldn't even know he needs to make a call). If he decides to sacrifice a friendly DD to gain a tactical advantage and plays it right, the team will win.

I assume there really are players whose tactical knowledge is superior to most others, who react faster, aim better and hit harder. However, I also think that several players play a lot in 3 man divisions with voice communication enabled. Imagine the kind of havoc they can do in a normal random battle, especially, if there is no matching setup on the opposing team. Either you've made an error, or your team's made en error. Bad scouting leads to errors of judgement.

Sadly, WG has a poor record of retaining historical limitations when it comes to game development.

Well.. don't look up now... the shells are incomiiiiiing! Remember that many cruisers can shoot over most islands and with their RoF they don't need a lock on to score hits. True story.

Unsurprisingly, when stats get used as an argument. @The_Chiv makes an impressively strong point above stating that 'you cannot shoot what you don't see'. All guns are useless if they don't have a target to shoot at. Spotting, focused fire and tactics decide the outcome of the battles. However, for me cruisers on the go are incredibly hard to hit, at least for me, and I assume for many others who cannot adjust their aim correctly. At 20+ km ranges even BB's become hard to hit. Most times I'm happy if I can hit and do some damage, ecstatic when I citadel, or dev strike something or even sink the enemy. Particularly so if it is a cruiser. I've always been of the opinion that the obsession with DD's pushing caps in the first two minutes of the battle is a dangerous and risky tactic. Especially if it involves islands and smoke. Having a CV in game somewhat mitigates that problem if they are up to their job. Still, the first thing your team should try to do early on is not winning the caps, but sinking all or as many of the enemy destroyers.

Well, I guess we ain't gonna learn how we can go can go from sub 50% to 60% then. Most of the teams I get are actually even more hopeless than I am, for sure beyond my ability to carry them to victory about 9 times out of 10 or so.

That might make me real popular with the team. TBH, I like to finish off my 'own' kills same as the next one, but in reality battles have been lost due to attempts to avoid kill steals. This is also one of those areas where achievements and missions run contrary to smart team play. Funny how WG is perfectly happy to wreck their own game, whatever it takes.

Unless the sound comes from some other source, not the ship itself, or only the bot ships.

@Fatal_Ramses Googled a bit, this is PT Server footage. crap ignore that sorry, it must be 2019 filth PT footage. Seems everything on YT is last year. Your best bet is getting an answer from someone who owns that camo.

They could have done, but they tend to be somewhat on the lazy side. AFAIK Khaba is not currently very popular, so don't know how many people are planning to get that camo. Unless someone actually knows, you could try finding a battle video or something, if there is one.

Not that I pretend to know the answer, as I don't own that camo, but there aren't any shield consumables in regular play.

Hmm... I have my doubts. When I do try to hide behind an island, I usually end up being surprised by an enemy DD and swarms of torps. I think... I prefer open water, even as a DD. Traditionally, I try to cap near an island, if one is available (none are still being sold in Premium Shop, curiously enough, should sell like hot cakes given the meta), and hope my team can deal with the enemy threats. Usually, they quite mysteriously fail to do that.

Well, that is a tactic I rarely use because it also blocks my view.

Well, if you plan to play stealth DD, this is not really applicable. Otherwise it would not be a good idea to venture too far. @ColonelPete many radar cruisers like to ambush caps or important map zones.

Perhaps the planes will go away and come back after that if I ask them nicely?
