    9.11 just dropped?

Mods are fine currently, as the update will go live on Thursday, 3 December on EU servers.

    New Ships in Armory (0.9.11)

Being more of a sneaky torp DD player than a gunboat player, than sounds somewhat attractive... will have to wait and see what will be the best way to use my coal stores for.

'Designed and built' is something exceptional for the Soviet part of the tech tree. What would be the major attraction about it in your opinion? It's pretty much the only one in this bunch that I might have interest in.

    The secret to success...

Yeah,.. there's some nice ways of doing this... strategically placed (map center) DD is one of those things that will throw off you RDF, also consider if there is a pair of DD's... you get RDF on one of them, but there would be two of them and you'll only find out when you run into them. Also, RDF is kind of generally limited, it tells you the direction, but not the range. So, there it might be pointing to a BB (that you can spot), but there might be anything in between you and that BB and you woulnd't know. Thankfully, there are instances where you can expect another DD to appear, like near cap zones typically. You also need to pay attention to the minimap to try and see how many of the enemy DD's have been spotted elsewhere to figure out how many there might be on your flank. Later in the game, the RDF will give you even more significant advantage as the possibilities will be fewer. I tend to opt for RDF whenever possible, because it is like having passive radar on all the time. Will have to see how this will change with the oncoming captain skill rework...

What version do you have installed? I managed to log in normally. Are you trying to log into EU servers or some other region?

    9.11 just dropped?

I seem to have got the 32 + 24 Mb download, still doing integrity check, it repaired something earlier. Good thing they started today, might even get it done by Thursday...

    9.11 just dropped?

That was one sneaky preload then, cause I didn't spot anything downloading over the weekend...

  11. The way I see it is that it can give you some more flexibility. Currently, you are able to move any captain to any premium ship without retraining, but only some of the skills you've picked with your 19 pts have been universally useful, mostly depending on which ships your captain has been assigned to. Having four class presets for the same captain, will allow you to make better use of those points, or at least, that's how I interpret this change. You still can't make full use of one captain when it comes to, say, gun boat builds vs torpedo builds, tank builds, or different cruiser build variations. With some forethought, though, it may possible to optimize your future 21 pt captains so that you can make more effective use of your various premium ships. How good this change will be, will depend on various other factors...

    The secret to success...

For this reason I often prefer to have RDF... though, some point out that it ruins your element of surprise. Still, it's more often me that gets surprised in battle, so I rather prefer to have what little information I can get. Mind you, some division can 'hack' your RDF in the sense that they on purpose mislead you....
  13. I've long had two captains for certain ships, though, TBH, I've most often strongly come to prefer one over the other.
  14. Considering that game won't allow you to keep track of those extra builds, as it were, you will need to keep a record off game for your own purposes which captain build is for which ship and so on.
  15. But... that won't change, will it? You will still need two separate captains for two captain builds for any one ship, right?
  16. So, there is some benefit to be drawn out of this in terms of flexibility. A lot will depend then on what they decide about all the other technicalities of this change. One thing I know, I'm not going to pay for having to respec all of my captains after this...
  17. Ah.. so that's the catch. So you still can't actually train the captain for ships of different classes simultaneously (and somehow, still, they will forget everything about past ships they've learned...). Well, no problem, just buy more prem.... hey, wait a doggone minuite here...
  18. YEah, the same occured to me. This would effectively multiply your current 19 pt captains by four times.

    Idea for WoWS: coastal artillery

What about a wave effect bashing those island huggers against the rocks?

    Idea for WoWS: coastal artillery

When one of my many cousins was having a birthday party with his wife and friends on board their pretty little yacht... unexpectedly, some gate crashers turned up. This would make an excellent scenario battle!
