Yeah, roughly the same, Mega gifts with Doubloons from Armory having stocked those and not really having any use for the Doubloons other than this. I now buy some Large boxes too from the shop to compare the drops. My gifts seem to have relatively low Doubloon count, no premium time, very much special signals and an odd selection of camos. The negative thing is, I think in previous years they dropped more of those New Year camos than now. The NY Streamers have been my default XP grind camo for a long while now.

It seems though, that this year the Large containers also drop ships, which is confusing because it seems to counter what was the pattern in previous years. Anecdotally, it seems to me that the 20x series drops more, but don't quote me on that...

Somewhat disappointed this year actually... Santa seems stingier this year than any other year previously. Can't complain about getting some ships, just that they are mid tierish and not exactly the kind of ships I would have wanted (2 BB's, no DD's, CV which I don't play...). Too many camos, but at least the most popular option seemed to be special flags. I used in game Doubloons for this, as those were just lying about as I had decided against buying premium time with those. Ironically, didn't get premium time out of the loot boxes either, so I guess I will be just running out....

5.9 gives you only 0.4 margin on the best concealment, meaning the advantage is lost in most encounters. How does a DD like that actually manage to shoot from smoke? I'm asking because I frequently get HE spammed by a DD fully smoked up, as far as I can tell I'm not spotted by any third party, yet the DD in smoke can target me with impunity. Do they also come equipped with infrared goggles or something?

Yes, but that is slow... come to think of it, coal drops from those Xmas loot boxes... hmm.....

Could this be a side effect of the aim assist? Other than that, the flight times are vastly shorter than what would be realistic.
