As for fairwells, this is my fairwell message (though not necessarily the last post) to all of you guys. I've been around for years, posted a lot of times (though curiously the 'Quality poster' title has eluded me...). I will miss the forum, I will miss the forumites even though I may still see you around the game, or on Discord, or on some other forum/platform. Discord can't be used the same way like a real forum, so I will be using it a lot less. It's been an honor to be part of this community.

Notice. On the Discord so-called 'Forum', I don't think we can do this. When replying to some post on Discord there's something visible, but it's not as clear as here on the forum. I assume you can do paragraphs there, shift+enter I think is the combination, but it's one more key press needed. Oh, I also got a notification ping on Discord. Now I'm frantically trying to search for it.

There are two, one under 'Discussions' and another under 'Forum'. We are all in the Forum part, the thread asking about Discord being any good as a forum or something. Including our all time favorite forumite from here.

Hey, we are the vocal minority. Apparently there's a silent majority which is even now as we speak having a party where they celebrate the feast of boredom and mediocrity, rejoicefully being milked by WG for every penny they got.

Here on the proper forum, I can quickly scan threads and posts to see if there's something I'm interested, something I want to respond to etc. I don't see that being the case with the Discord 'forum'. It's either I only go with a 'snapshot' of what's being discussed, or use half a day of clicking, scrolling, clicking, scrolling. It's devolution, like if this forum is a newspaper, Discord is the tree that the paper is made of, and you are reading the lines on a section of the cut down tree. Reposting this to Discord 'Forum' too.

Thanks. Not sure if all this is very intuitive to use... I'll have to check out the browser version. I am definitely more used to the browser functionality when it comes to using forums.

@Seraphice I did get it open in the main view doing what you suggested. However, that thread only pops up on the left tab like this once I've first opened it in the tab view, right?

This is the view I found in Discord today. But I changed the theme to make it more readable. Trying it out but... does not feel good...

Careful, you are risking a forum ban for using a non-English language, mate.

Discord does have it uses, but only for limited purposes. For announcements, chat, and for messaging your friends the same way as you can do on Steam, and that's maybe one area where it works well. Obviously it's no substitute for a proper forum.

If I could make my purse strings any tighter, I would. This is WG's way of letting us know it's time to move on. I will, most likely, still keep playing the occasional battle, the operations, and possible the CM if that becomes a thing. Those who keep playing, might see you around in the game, but I rarely spot any other other forumites there.

On ASIA there are only 20 comments (small forum) but it is not well liked. Has anyone gauged the mood on NA?

Yes, the use of emojis is positively disgusting. Good idea, we can all use WoT and I think WoWP forums too by just logging in the same we could do here. They might think us a bunch of loonies talking about ships there... perhaps we should pretend the ships are tanks or planes or whatnots, to camouflage our infiltration.

This will likely be my last report on any SC's. Oh the irony....

Well, you could subscribe to the ever informative WoWS Youtube channel and always post your feedback on their latest video for the benefit of the community. Be constructive, of course.

While you can, just for the giggles, go to the oldest threads from 2015 and see what they discussed then. That's where the game started, and here is where it ends. We are worlds apart.

Your department is the one handling this.... Discord is the choice for improving miscommunication with your player base, or the tattered remains thereof.

Well, I am on Discord, but I use it to chat, not to post anything worthwhile (althought perhaps I shouldn' have said that....) as it is not a forum. Er... I may even already have joined the WG Discord channel... I vaguely seem to remember that, but I haven't used it all, except to tick away those announcement pings. Reading anything longer than 3 lines on discord feels like a chore.
