I assume that by 'the usual China' you mean Red China. A slight correction, though, hope you don't mind. The 'alternate' flag is not the Flag of Taiwan, but of the Republic of China. Taiwan has no official flag of its own, AFAIK. And.. to split hairs even further, it is, of course, more specifically the naval ensign of the Republic of China.

That sounds very odd.. almost as if it is some kind of a in client mod we are talking about here. I remember one time asking what ensign people saw on my Swedish DD which supposedly had the Swedish ensign equipped, but my flag mod was outdated so it showed me the RN ensign instead. They responded saying they saw the Swedish one, though but I have no idea if they had chosen to equip their Swedish DD's with that one or even if they had any, IIRC they didn't play the Swedish ships in that battle themselves.

What about poor BB's that are loaded with secondary weapons massively outgunning any DD out there yet they oddly struggle against a single DD...

No longer applies, with the current player base (they even make me look good) they need to enable cheats for the player team in order for them to have a floating chance against the AI bots.

Ship statistics? There is some in game info in the client, but haven't checked if there are any outside sources.

Unlikely, mate... I use the womanizer these days or what ever they call it. I've been 'Murazon' and a lot of other people since then, some with lots of numbers, some with other awkward nics as well. BTW, won't @Lieut_Gruber be a little upset you stole his little tank?

One of the 'nicer' features of this new system. Final nail in the coffin in my case, so I'm just 'enjoying' my Rank 7 from now on. The opinion seems to be a bit divided if this new system is good or not, but if you ask me, I prefer the old style ranked mode, and I'm not going to bother with the in-built frustration of this new system.

IIRC the 'fire' in smoke is randomized (except for AA), so it's not reliable per se, however as most people either stop in smoke or start to back up remembering their last position helps you to guess where they might be at least for a few seconds right after they go in smoke. I love sending torps into smoke, sadly too many people have picked up on the dangers of sitting in smoke these days.

Reportedly...... my cat was spotted playing against @Excavatus and his Team of Unsinkables. Don't ask me how the battle went, I was having a cup of tea at the time.

My suggestion is this: take this new ranked format of yours and turn it into a Christmas dinner.
