Not sure what I mean... but I think might be an interesting 'gimmick' if we'd get a DD hunter with secondary fire. Especially interesting if you were on the receiving end of it.

I'm just wondering... are we talking about a 'destroyer size' CL or something else here... would it come with dual purpose guns meaning it might also be able to have 'secondary fire' ability...?

I don't mind the smoke per se, () but I wish it were implemented somewhat more realistically than it is. As to the DD's, when it comes to torpedo builds, concealement is vital, but less so for gun builds. Hybrid builds are somewhat problematic, though.

The magnitude of paper ships in the game is so too great for this sort of mechanic. That is why they prefer to stick to fair weather mechanics. To put it more plainly, there'd be too much debris floating around attributable to the 'cream of the world's shipbuilding' for WeeGee's delicate palate.

As long as come up even. You wouldn't want them to remove something and not refund you the full amount of doubloons.

Well, it was impossible for me to reach Bronze rank 1 in the first week so I gave up. Since I can only think the exact same thing would happen every week till I ran out of time to do it, why set up myself up for more frustration and failure.

There's a thought, it might be quicker to spot 100 torpedoes if you played BB's.

Well, yes. The only thing that matters you spot those torps (and, obviously that the game registers it). However, in coop it is smarter to pick a DD, because sometimes there are very few DD's in Coop, and it makes sense to increase your odds of spotting torps by bringing a ship that itself can spam torps in quantity.

But that makes no difference for mission progress. The only limiting factor there is are the tiers V-X. True, if he plays coop bringing a torpedo DD is better than taking Friesland, as the ship gets 'replicated' for the opposing team.

They did offer refunds for crates bought with doubloons as well, either a rollback or a manual refund. I know this because I had the rollback done on my account to restore the doubloons. However, I am not sure if they can or will do this if you request the refund under purchases, I requested only a doubloon refund and did it under the 'in game goods lost' IIRC.

Spotted torps are registering (see below) as long as you actually do spot them in battle.
