At least half the BB captain skills are rubbish now unless you opt for full secondary skill which itself may be complete rubbish if you do it with the wrong ships. On the plus side, it makes selecting skills easier at least there BB's are considered IMO. DD's are a little trickier, haven't yet figured out what my optimum DD build is going to be. With the old system, I usually only needed to figure out whether I needed torpedo acceleration or not. -

Perhaps possible with some ships still. Meanwhile.. I'm struggling with hybrid/balance builds. Was intending to make some captains slightly more attack, some more defence. However, the attack side of the skills is mostly rubbish, Dead Eye seems very aptly named... I'm beginning to think it is more like -10% to dispersion than anything. -

No idea about Georgia, but.. overall I'm thinking that hybrid build now means balancing attack and defence. -

As you say, looking at the history of the Indian Navy it would not be all that inaccurate, with a few liberties taken. Same as we don't actually have correct historical commanders for any of the other ships AFAIK, although we have historical captains available as special cases (mostly flag officers). My Pan-Asian commanders are all fluent in Japanese. -
Not sure if it has changed either, but you have to be careful which ships to assign secondary build captains (pretty sure that's how it used to be). I tested my Musashi with a full secondary build (equipment and cap skills), and the results were pretty pathetic. Oddly enough, the main guns seemed to work pretty much the same without Aim mod equipment as with it....

Hmm.... I think I have experimented with that, most secondary ranges are too short for comfort in my case though. Normally I tend to keep my distance because I usually end up in trouble otherwise... don't like getting rammed by BB's either. Have I mentioned that I hate those rocks? They block my LoS....

IMO my aim became even worse when trying out Dead Eye, as if I had an added element of RNG there. Possibly, my aim is usually so off that I don't benefit from the improved dispersion (though I usually seem to benefit from the Aim Mod equipment buff...). Possibly, too, the combined effect of Desync and Dead Eye makes the dispersion haphazard.

Strange. I haven't actually gone over my captains to check for this.. been focusing on a handful trying to figure out which skills work and which are a total waste. I think I will go mostly with the 'safe' options, not necessarily the recommended ones, but the ones that are closest to what I used to have. -

In ranked, I suppose it is mostly decided by one team being able to sink all the ships of the team, and the only way to do that is to cause damage like you say in order to sink a ship. In OP's case, then, the Hindy did his job as did the OP, but the rest of the team was unable to follow suit being unable to either do enough damage or sink any ships (except for one other player). -

Yes, but what is the reason the Hindy did so well. No ships sunk, just raw DPS? -
No clue yet, but it seems some skills are complete waste of points, like the 'Liquidator' on Öland.

See above. Fortunately we can reset individual commanders during the 'grace period' as many times as we want, to try out different skill sets.
