Though not the enemy smoke, IIRC. Sometimes they are kind enough to let you borrow it as they no longer have any need for it.

Most of the time the Modstation stays up to date, with a major game update the Modstation has to update itself, then you just install your mod selection with one button. Not a huge hassle, in other words.

Isn't the smoke timer in the vanilla game, though? Oh, didn't recognize you.. did you have a.. makeover?

From a certain point of view, increasing the amount of information the game provides should lead to a more intelligent level of game play.... surely?

The problem is that those things should still be worked out through other means. For some reason, the 'physical' ship we see and aim at seems not to tally with the minimap in terms of its relative angle to your ship.

Did you notice how the indicator sometimes flashes from yellow to green when the ship is moving?

Well, it's less useful than you'd think. Mostly it saves you maybe a second or so when trying to figure out what the ship is doing. The one situation where it gives you some advantage is in the case of bow tanking BB's (and cruisers). It allows you figure out how to adjust your aim. That maybe borderline, but it won't make you hit any better as such, and it is a legit mod available to all with very little effort required. Is it essential? No, not really, only using it myself since about a couple of months ago having played vanilla for like 5 years.

The one in the Modstation tells you the target engine telegraph setting, nothing more.

That's a mod. It's part of the Modstation so I guess it's legit.

Will have to have a serious look about this, though TBH, I've already pretty much figured out where I need to spend those points on. Not much leeway in my builds, sadly.

A little advanced for me. I wonder what the practical application would be, though. You'd have to be able to either remember the patterns for every one of your ships (impossible), write them down in a separate spreadsheet (er....), or have an in-game tool showing those dispersion patters per ship and given range (if modded probably illegal...)

... have you noticed how it only ever shows you Ocean... that's what I call falsely hyping up your expectations what you gonna get playing this game.... That's the level of awesomeness that is what is missing from the game.

Yeah, a poll might be a nice addition. Though, TBH, predictably the community would vote out the Ocean in my experience...
