This might be the safest if you can get by without a 21 pt captain for a while. I elited one 19 pt captain to 21 pts, and will probably reset just in case, though I only found very little variation in terms of which skills are worth picking. Still, you never know. I got other captains that I can level up in the meantime.

At tier 10, it might be possible to go for a secondary build combining the 3+4 point secondary armament captain skills and the equipment in slots 2 and 6. How expensive and/or effective that might be, don't really know as I haven't tried it myself.

I've been trying out builds/equipment on DD's and BB's, not so much on cruisers, so don't know how they will be affected, for me the cruisers were bad before anyway. However, it seems that the rework leaves both my DD's and BB's severely crippled under most circumstances....

I don't think there is yet consensus on which builds will be the best, so this would be a good option.

Then again, having islands and ships in their close proximity was probably thought up by someone who hasn't the foggiest about naval warfare.

I think you mean, if they don't turn when I switch, they aren't relying on the PT gimmick, but if they do turn when I actually fire torpedoes for real...

Perhaps, perhaps not. It still seems strange, because it is not a small adjustment, its a complete turn.... admittedly, could be they found themselves with an exposed broadside and changed bearing, just why can't they do it 5 seconds earlier!

I'm currently aware of that, so I try to avoid switching prior to launching. Don't want to tip off those juicy pinatas.

One strange thing I've seen a lot lately is seeing a BB go in straigth line right up until I launch all my torps at it. Right after they execute a turn/change of course and speed. I'm not talking about the way German BB's can probably pick it up on their hydro, I mean like one frigging second after I've launched my torps....

Yup, I see it the same way. Would be interested in any information how the good players deal with this, cause to me it seems it won't matter how good you get at this game when there are mods that negate your skills in this way.

It does seem to lock onto ships as long as there is nothing in between to throw it off. However, it seems to have a high range of tolerance rendering it somewhat useless at least with angled and broadsiding targets.
