  1. That too, both reasons contribute to the problem. Uhm.. yes, obviously. This is a problem, but it is also a problem which is made worse by the HE spamming mechanics. It is further made worse by lack of team play. I fail to spot where he says he wants to make ships fireproof....
  2. The difference is big enough to contribute to false ideas about BB performance in people's minds which makes them overly popular. As a result, too many people (possibly myself included) choose a play style that tends to 'save' the BB's till the end game and allow their teams to sacrifice their DD's, caps, map control and even cruisers in the process. Don't think anyone is really asking for fireproof ships. The problem now is that HE damage is disproportionate and has an impact on the game dynamics, an unfavourable impact.
  3. Well, I somewhat disagree. One 'compromise' mechanic might be decoupling fire damage from HP (meaning fire damage alone would not be enough to sink the ship) and making it contribute to 'reduced performance', still recoverable (repairable), at least to a degree of some reasonable percentage of full performance. IMO, it would make a huge change in the game dynamics, whether it would be welcomed or not, is hard to say...
  4. No class is easier to hit than BB, be it close, far, angled, bow on or broadsiding. One problem 'BB advantage' has to do with the fact that the dodgy spotting and damage mechanics pretty much negate any advantage the sheer size of the BB's might have, in terms of spotting, control and fire power. Correct.

    Collectors Emblem

The current implementation of the badges does not encourage me to go for the 350 ships one... now, if they actually changed it into a royally crowned whale or something...

I can't see any! All I get is those (mostly WoT) coupons that are good only for stuff nobody wants.

Having checked that the regular permacamo for the Amagi is 3000 Doubloons making it 9.86 euros. The captain and port slot might make that roughly 15 euros in all or thereabouts. Seeing how I wouldn't buy a tech tree ship with money, and without bothering to check how much all the extra bundled crap might set you back, I'd say it's terrible value. So I think we can all concur. Aye.

    Server issues?

Trouble in the past 20 mins for me. The small trouble was that my DD stopped dead in water... the enemy was not effected. In the last battle, again, DD stopped, negative ping -35 and instantly D/Ced. No getting back, authorization loop followed by something about 're-entering password for security reasons'.. and log in failed. Not that there is much point, by now I am sunk anyway since it's minutes.... EDIT Got back, was sunk, saw that the ping had that red propaganda star, the battle ended. Well, at least it was a win.

They really should wear face masks!

A valid point, they are effectively selling a lemon in a bag.

This isn't one of those 'sunk cost fallacy traps', though. Nobody is forced to pay these ridiculous prices. In fact, every time you are about to open your wallet, I suggest people think hard if the price is right and what they are about to buy is really worth it.

The "traditional" suspicion around these drops is that the odds are adjusted for those loot boxes bought right after the release in order to entice more people to buy them. Anecdotally, my own experiences with loot boxes seems to confirm this... That is to say, the early bird catches the worm and leaves the box empty for those who come looking for it later... so your warning is well received.

    Rudder not responding bug

Or maybe everyone's using the WASD hack so much their keyboards no longer respond optimally... For the record, I'm using a (budget) mechanical gaming keyboard, which sometimes has difficulty registering fast key presses in the correct order. That could account for it in my case, but if we are looking for a general explanation... of sorts...

Will be awkward if you fail to notice it and stay in binocular view....

    Z 31, the floating turd

It might be that overall I resent tier 7 DD's as they frequently meet higher tiers and lack the benefit of the concealment module equipmentwise. I am more fond of some of them, likely because I think they are adequately 'compensated' for this.

    Z 31, the floating turd

If memory serves me right, I never really liked Skåne. How different is it from Z-31?

    Z 31, the floating turd

Those things kind of overlap, though. The performance can relate to the theoretical performance as in meeting specific performance requirements, which is dependent on those design parameters, or it can relate to the degree that the ship's officers and crew can make practical use of those parameters and translate it to combat or testing performance.

Time will tell. I haven't tried to look for any reviews, as it seems unlikely I'll ever get this DD.

    Z 31, the floating turd

The way I see it, a ship with fewer players and a high ship WR points to a ship that has a high level of potential performance coupled with challenging characteristics, meaning that only the best players are able to unlock its full potential.

    Z 31, the floating turd

I think I get what you are saying. Performance is related to player ability, whereas the overall ship WR in the game can be 'incidental' and more dependent on other factors (such as team performance). To complicate matters further, neither is player WR directly dependent on the ship's performance in battle.
  23. You just summed up succinctly one of the biggest flaws in the game mechanics we have. It's unnecessarily and entirely way too gimmicky. Others will promptly disagree, no doubt...
  24. Towels are optional. But you will really need to have some balls if you are gonna visit this very inviting looking place. And... replace them with heavy missile cruisers? IMO BB's are fun when you can get the feeling you are having on impact on the enemy ships and can influence the flow of the battle. For me, it seems dynamic action is always more fun. Like taking my BB on an extended cruise through the mid map and going from cap to cap. Or when trying to play my Yamato like some strange super DD. Actions of this type cannot be recommended if you have no effective screen and support fire with you. If you do, you will have a chance to influence the battle, and if you are good enough, potentially to carry if needed.
