Yeah, that's the really dumb part, isn't it? The transaction costs of actually working with the community are negligible compared to their overhead and would yield not only free PR and good results out of that partnership, as would have been the case with LWM and Chubbitsu... I can only see this in the most positive light in terms of the community and game health. But... WG is dumb, dumb, dumb... it is incredibly infuriating.

British Cruisers, are they worth it?

Nerfs incoming! -
It is not nice when you work hard for nothing and even end up getting nothing to show for your hard work....

In Minsk, they know how to run a tight ship, which is curious considering Belarus is an entirely landlocked country. Yet, there was a DD named after their capital....

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Karasu_Browarszky replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
I spotted @HMS_Kilinowski and then @MacArthur92 spotted me... I... left the battle a bit earlier, so I don't know how they are doing right now. I trust they will let me know how the battle ended. -
Russians these days seems to have the notorious habit of coining all sorts of nonsensical new words to mean old things, so perhaps they don't always understand everything themselves either...

That time window is... kinda crappy, though. I think that's when WG bosses learned about markuetink...

This is why group consensus and consulting your boss before you make a decision is the key to a better corporate culture. (Japanese bias) Given that WG is a Russian corporation, maybe they like playing petty dictators on every level... or maybe they have read American guides on how to run a corporation (skipping the chapters on PR and customer relations, obviously... and personnel management, too) and make money. They definitely did not skip that chapter...

That would depend on what they told her and by whom, I'd say.

That sounds eerily familiar. I've heard the same thing said about some other ship, too....

Us old timers are just like old beach bums reminiscing their youth spent on surf boarding.

'Breakdown in communication'? If this is for real, WG has never googled 'interdepartmental coordination and liaison'...

Usually we blame it on the DD's.

First battle of the day, but something tells me I'm not going to do any better later today. -
The problem with DD knife fighting is that it is very heavily skill dependent, more so than in any way related to the DD stats, so balancing will not solve the problem.

If we need to mention what is 'historically correct' we now have post WW2 ships so we can quite well have black captains at least for the USN. While we are on the subject, I'd also like to see Indian commanders as an option for the Indian Navy ships in the game. Furthermore, the Russian navy traditionally had officers with various ethnic backgrounds, such as Admirals Avellan, von Kraemer and von Essen to name a few. I'd also love to see some 'inclusiveness' when it comes to the Russian commanders.

Double post sorry.

It can be important for some in terms of self-identification in RL, but it is sometimes difficult to realise that if you are 'racially insensitive' in the sense race isn't an issue for you personally. Whether it is equally important when it comes pixel portraits no one else but the player will be seeing, is a different matter. For me, personally, this isn't a 'game breaking issue', but I'm not in any way opposed to the idea of more 'inclusivity'. I tend to prefer historical or realistic captains for my ships... with some exception for added flavour, shall we say. Cap approves, BTW.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Not sure how it goes, sometimes I feel I done nothing and expect to finish last and at the end I'm like 3 or 4 spots higher... and sometimes I do a lot and still finish about the same place on the roster. Not sure if it's team quality dependent or time dependent or some algorithm that takes note of everything you do, most obviously the more important ones are ships sunk, damage, capping/defending and achievements. -
Lert on NA puts it rather well (post #463): Chobittsu and LWM are fully exonorated (not that there was any doubt), heads have rollen, the cookie has crumbled but we are still stuck with the lemon.

Please return flags for achievments

Yeah... WG is very good at making these titanic changes...
