It is a mode designed to keep you playing (and playing ... and playing), it's not a mode designed to be fun per se (or really, rewarding for that matter, necessarily), only engaging...

Yeah.. I ran into a problem with Wargaming pages some months back, I think it was the wiki page. There was some (apparently temporary) fault in the DNS setup. I switched to Cloudflare and it solved the problem. Not all problems are due to DNS, of course, but it can sometimes be an issue. Hmm... usually if the servers are acting up, clusters of people get affected. Unless you are using a VPN, you could try using Cloudflare or Quad9 for DNS. Not being able to reach shop or the forums points to a DNS issue IMO.
