Slight update: I have GTX 970, and I've been running the game with these settings for a while now. Seems to work well enough even when I get a higher ping (which mostly causes lag to weapons firing). Recently, my problems are with sound because apparently my sound card died, and I'm reduced to using the realtek sound on my rig.. and it makes certain annoying elements in the game extra super loud.

Something tells me on the Press accounts you'd be seeing it in the first box.... though, of course, not many people have those accounts... any more...

I'm a proponent of the Ocean because it is the most realistic and the most pro-variation map we have (or rather had... for all practical purposes...), the biggest downside with these new maps is all they can produce is the same stale cookie cutter play style from battle to battle.. and it gets old fast.

The overall trend has consistently been to go from better maps to worse maps, reflecting the overall changes in this game since Beta.

The miserable people in my clan barely play at all.

Quite. In the Soviet Union happiness was mandated, to the point of not being allowed to compose even music that was not happy. Only WW2 finally allowed for composers such as Shostakovich to compose something sombre, like his Symphony Nr. 7.

Too bad the campaign was turned into the kind of travesty it is, because the campaign itself looks interesting (apart from the time gated factor)... to the degree that it makes you wonder how did they cook it up in such a short time....

I remember how the north islands were huge, effectively cutting you off from your team if you went that way, only really good for maybe DD's and cruisers. Most of the times the BB's paraded up and down the clear water areas on both sides of the ice fields.
