There's stuff there that I find interesting. I want to see if this is really in the works. This would be a huge improvement in my book. I actually agree. They need to be a lot more transparent (within reason), especially when it comes to planned changes, monetisation and community relations. No ****, Sherlock. Well, I hope they stop fixing what isn't broken and start fixing what obviously is broken. This is, indeed, probably the worst aspect of this, pointing to a serious flaw in their corporate culture which reflects a lot of Soviet ethos. Not... that Western game companies are much better, TBH. When you got what amounts to corporate culture with a toxic approach to your stakeholders, because that's what us players and community contributors effectively are we see in work in the way these companies, not just WG, continously ignore community relations and belittle everyone lower down in the 'chain of command'. My concern, in other words, is that the way they treat us fully reflects the way they treat their own employees below the 'directorate' level. This needs to be overhauled and made not just more transparent, but more civil and more respectful. The way they've chosen to treat the CC's, for instance, is mindboggling, because the CC's (at least some of them, like LWM) probably know the game meta even better than WG devs themselves too. Listening to their feedback should be very high on WG's list of priorities. Well, we will see.

That mechanic is as far from normal as you can get.

I think it depends on how far the sub is from your position, and if there are any friendly ships in between. If you are going towards the sub and those fast going torps, the time between ping and impact can be much shorter.

TBH, this web based/combat mission thing can be confusing. Earlier today, I somehow wound up here...

Some subs fire those torps right at your bow being on your course ahead of you. There's the ping, and the about 3 seconds later or so, the torps will come and home on you.

Many aspects of this game are, and I don't just mean the prices.

This is where the team mechanics come into play. Because you can always rely on your team to be there to look out for you, the ships with ASW capabilities are already on the job leaving you free to proceed with your mission.

Subs are so romantic.

This is a game for 'fifty year olds of all ages'.

Ah... don't do high tier Coop, that sucks. I recommend sticking to lower tiers, most of the missions are not really any harder to do on the lower tiers, sometimes the opposite is true (the maps are smaller).

The problem may not be due to the less skilled players, but due to higher skill players which also sometimes division up. Even on their own, a single high skilled player can seriously tilt the balance of the game in favour of their team.

Yeah.. reading the twitter tells me it was more like disinGenious Sarcasm we are seeing there. Not exactly 'Free' was it, with doubloons like that (which for most people are not free..). Still... I can sort of imagine that would have been the only way to complete the Puerto Rico build and actually get to enjoy the holiday season... The PR event was truly in the Spirit of Scammas.
