If it is one of their infamous pop-ups you saw... no idea. But aren't you supposed to contact the support in those cases you want to use doubloons to buy the ship? AFAIK there is no page, site or anything else where you can do this directly using doubloons.

For me the terrible one was the 3 kills in a battle. Stopped me dead in my tracks, because I can't get 3 kills under mission conditions. I can get them at other times, obviously....

Without the dedicated article or an updated armory in game, there are some sketchy parts (like prices or how many crates one can get through missions) but here's what I've glimpsed so far: 1. We already knew that the collection is 60 pieces, what was unknown is the number of crates needed. Judging from the video we need 30 crates for the whole collection (2items per crate) 2. Crates also seem to drop normal signals (7), camos (5) or FXP (250). 3. We can buy both Gift crates and the ones from the dubious summer sale for tokens, along with the birthday crates and the t7 perma-camos. 4. Still get a SC for t10, camos on t5-7 are changed for tokens and you loose a Gift crate on t9 in exchange for a token too My plan most likely will be buying the minimum number for crates for the collection and then spend any excess tokens on Gift crates... what are yours? Your edit goes in the right direction, I mean specifically I'm not going to spend money, doubloons, or resources to buy any crates, loot boxes etc. I may exchange tokens for crates, as long as I don't have to jump through hoops to get those tokens or buy them in crates...

Well.. you could always try buying one of those high tier premium ships to finish the campaign a little easier...
