    Yes, it only matters what the score is at the end. There's always a chance to flip a battle (and an even bigger chance of throwing it...) while the clock is ticking. Cap points are renewable, time and ship HP's are consumble resources. Those you need to use and trade wisely. Many times I've seen battles where the team's weaker flank is fighting a retreat battle to buy the rest of the team time to do their 'thing' on the stronger flank... only to see that somehow they've not only managed to throw away that time but also somehow managed to lose against the enemy's weaker flank...

    Sort of.. but not always. There's the point counter and the time counter. It's like the key bearer and Zuul thing. A team can cap all the caps and lose the battle. A team can fail to cap at all and win the battle. If you can't cap, try to prevent the enemy from capping. You will always need to sink more of the enemy ships than what they sink you, and the team that sinks early gets the advantage. This game is not about sinking ships or capping caps, it's about staying ahead in the points count.

    In my experience, in that scenario you are more likely to be the one who gets surprised by the BB.

    For DD's.. at least for mine, this isn't a fun map. The islands pretty much block all the torpedo paths... and some of the red ships have radar!

    Well, I mean more along the lines of not letting them to torp in the first place. The transports do not matter here, it's a simple matter of team balance, specifically between attacking and defending DD's, and to what extent they either get or fail to get support from their team.

    Uhm... yes, there's the same problem with the implementation of the submarines as there is with every other concept WG has come up in this game, too gimmicky, too dodgy, too situational and impossible to balance correctly. All of this does not make the game unplayable, but, IMO, it artificially expands the skill gap between the more or less average players and the top ranking unicum players... ... which is why we get the impression of 'soo many clueless players' because they don't have the skill set needed to work out the crazy limitations and opportunities that result from the game meta. In other words, they don't play the game, it is the game that plays them. As a convoy defender, as you say your job is to keep the enemy ships from being able to attack the transports. The most effective way is to agressively engage them and force them to defend against your team. The danger lies in the attacking CV and DD's. Theoretically, because they know the convoy course, they can try to cut you off at the pass. Their DD's will try to detour ahead, because otherwise they will stand no chance of getting within effective torpedo or gun range. The attacker can sink most of your defending ships and three out of four transports.. and they will still lose. It's harder for them to sink all your defending ship than to get all the transports which means, they should prioritise the transports and as a defending team you should make sure they can't do that.

    I think rather they should have set only ONE win/loose condition, the transports. Nothing else, IMO. Then again, they should have made this a subs vs. convoy mode...
