Would you believe it, I had one yesterday too, on ASIA. We did get the transports, and the CV, I got sunk, went AFK for a couple of mins, came back to look at 5 empty stars on the screen and Defeat... wtf...

Most people I gather would be interested in grinding XP for their tier 7/8's, potentially 9's too which makes it little surprising there was a problem with those.

You can also hit the border at 90 degree angle and get stuck showing broadside. The reduction of engine power means it will take ages for you engines to go into the reverse. And when they do, it will take ages for them pull you out of the border. That's what I proudly term the 'Karasu Maneuver'.

Hitting the border at certain angles effectively traps the ship there. In most cases, the slowness of motion makes them sitting ducks as long as you figure out the angle and trajectory along the border. Yeah.. there's a way to hit the border so you effectly glide along with it. That's a little harder to do accidentally. Most ships hit the border the 'wrong' way.

Well, that is one of the core problems. The game would be a 'Thinking man's game' if you had to be more careful with your engagements. Just like in real life!

I remember the last time we had asymmetrical battles, I pretty consistently only played the lower tier ship. This is because I naturally prefer facing the extra level of challenge this presents. ...it's not because I will have a convenient excuse for losing...

Sometimes the ALT key becomes stuck, you will notice this if you try pressing ENTER for chat and instead you get the windowed/full screen switching happening. Tapping the ALT key, IIRC, resets you back to normal. I'm using the 'Maximized borderless' setting myself, BTW.

Kiting, as suggested, is a good tactic for both BB's (like Nagato) or for cruisers (like Zao), and works pretty well both for mid and high tiers so it's a good tactic to learn early. Center... ehhhhhhh... is risky, because ships that go to center and stay spotted become immediate targets unless the enemy team is playing half asleep. It can work to a degree, depending on where the enemy goes but beware of crossfire. I sometimes start going either horizontally or diagonally (riskier) towards the map center, but be ready to disengage. I might not do this with a slow BB, kiting maybe a better solution. Essentially, whatever you do, your job is to buy time for your team and whatever they are up to on the other flank. Sometimes this brings victory, sometimes... your team will just throw it but at least you will have racked up your damage count in the process.

What about the ABS many ships seem to have for stopping on a dime? Is this going to get nerfed... I mean, universally adjusted cause it's annoying AF.

Then again, I have Slava, I'm a 'BB sniper' player. I practically never touch Slava. Caution is advised, but there are others with more extensive experience with Slava so I may be proven wrong.

It's a Russian filter, with Russian functionality. Superior, in other words.
