I tried Raptor rescue yesterday... I did not spot any bug, what I did spot was more along the lines of what I was expecting, the inability of the team to protect the Raptor. Zero stars, time well spent.... I'm not sure if these failures are part of some patented super secret algorithm designed to make people shun the operations, but it's working as intended.. or not intended... In the good old days, this type of a disastrous failure was, of course, much rarer.. -
Please, feel free to play as many battles on subs and CV's as you like.

Even I do play CV's... although just in Coop and not that much. I only have made any serious commitment to get them for one nation. I don't, though, contribute much to their overall popularity as you can see here: Coop Random Ranked (pre-ruined) -

Seems I'm not the only one who thinks it's like this these days. I'm not sure how much of this has to do with the novelty factor wearing off... however, I still remember how in 2017 after about two years of playing the game still felt fresh. Could be it was because they were adding new, important nations and ships, I don't know. I think we still had more content back then, with the old operations and more 'gimmick free' gameplay in the randoms. Ranked was also a viable option, at least for me, while many still play ranked I've given up on it myself. -

I haven't encountered the Raptor bug lately, though. When I did, I sort of tried to be ready to force the Raptor to stay off the rocks. The teams are a bigger problem in the Operations... -
I actually tend to rather play DD's than BB's. I don't play cruisers much, because they seem to be the worst performing class in terms of their combat roles in this game. Having BB's suplant the cruisers is, to put it midly, an incredibly dumb idea in terms of game play. Introducing subs into this game, which directly detract from the game play of every other class (with CV's less than the others) is another incredibly dumb idea on WG's part. I'm not sure if it is my job to try to compensate for WG's dumb ideas and, yes, dodgy mechanics in this game. What I am sure is that I'm not playing the game like the devs seem to want me to play it, nor am I playing the game like I want to play it. Result? Something that isn't very 'fun and engaging', at least not any more than trying to **** in the dark.

Without going into the details, in general I agree that the game balance needs to be overhauled. There's been way too many changes in the past few years without any serious consideration given to the core game mechanics, too many ships, too many gimmicks. The subs are the latest issue and probably the single biggest gamewrecking addition with have seen since the CV and Captain skills reworks. -

They don't actually seem to be that good. Though, for the Satsuma, the ability to just erase a careless Smolensk near a rock is impressive. Too bad the superships can't counter the subs equally well. Actually, for me the best reason to stop playing now would be the subs. It seems only the better players bother with them any more which is not a good thing...

I think you feel correct. While it gives the appearance of having more options to choose from, most of the options only suit specific ships or playstyles, IMO. The ship specific builds also removed the option to make 'interesting' builds.

They successfully ruin what's left of smart gameplay, at least in half the battles you see them. I'm currently grinding a couple of ships more actively, Riga and FDG. Hate both of them, so I'm not exactly having 'fun'. Then I play a selection based on my mood or the requirements of the Naval Battle over those weekends that I have pre-qualified.

The battles, IMHO, now get swung and decided by the team which has the most players that can employ one or more of the broken mechanism that this game has to offer to their maximum potential. Should an absence of such players occur, as in the case of there being too many bots, the team that manages to make fewer blunders will come out on top.

Not sure.. but if I was paying good money for them, rent or otherwise, I would expect them to come with premium AI and be actually capable of proper team play. -

I found a way to monetize this. Perhaps WG could start selling 'Companion Bots' in the Premium shop/Armory?
