The little I'm familiar with, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Most, if not all, have those terrible 'over the moon' firing arcs.

Since every captain can now have 1 build for each class, there is at least the benefit of being able to make better use of when it comes to those premiums/nerfiums. If you want to be economical in terms of getting those premium/resource ships, you have to try to think ahead a little bit and maybe only get one solid ship per class for training your captains. If you really plan ahead, you also focus on maybe just couple of nations that give you best value in terms of time and resources.

Yeah.. that 'guessing game'. What it means is that this is a somewhat moot point, though, unless you know where to drop that stuff.

@WildWind84 (your @paging me was not active btw). Sorry, I don't know what they subs are having on impact on the various steel ships. They are having a detrimental effect on all ships, but in order to know how each ship has changed you need to get pointers from people who know the subs well and how they've changed the meta. If we focus on BB's and Cruisers... I think all were released prior to the subs arriving in the game, Shikishima about two years ago in 2020. As always, check any and all reviews (with the caveat that some are now at least partially outdated). I'm not sure who is the most reliable reviewer in terms of YouTube, but for written reviews I always recommend LWM as your first stop.

Yes, buying any of the nerfiums is a calculated risk, in a sense. Old timers have those true premiums, but even they are subject to power creeping and universal changes. I'd still buy some of them myself, especially ones that belong to nations that I have very few or none previously, mostly because I expect all of these balance and meta changes to have only a marginal effect on my perfomance. For the most part, at least; subs are highly detrimental for this game, much more than anything else they've been doing, and is probably one of the bigger reasons for me right now not to spend on this game.

I don't think there's any army or navy, past or present that has consistently been able to maintain the exact same shades when it comes to either paint or fabric color schemes.

Nor sure... ... the monitor native resolution is 1920x1080... maybe running the game in a window and not full screen somehow takes off those 40 pixels....

I'm just amazed any ship or player can counter those subs. I can't. Except by vamoosing from that general area as quickly as I can.
