Nostalgia for the good old days!

I did the exact same thing with CV's too... I know, I was young, innocent and naive back then...

    SC mechanism

@Leo_Apollo11 SC's are dropping a lot of signal flags. Coincidence? I think not. Somehow WG has figured out I stopped using signal flags almost completely following their removal from the achievements.

    SC mechanism

Typically, I think a SC has dropped after around 30 to 50 crate drops or so. It varies a lot, though. I pick some TYL's, so that may bring the averages down slightly.

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR6G1H2XkuA The comments are interesting to read too, BTW.

Sevastopol is something that we sort of know of.

Would you say much of Slava's potential has to do with the long range capability of the guns plus the ability to 'drop out of sight' thanks to the concealment? Both the CV's and the subs detract from that ability along with the DD's. The more ships there are that can 'stealth' spot you without you having any way to counter it, the less effective the Slava becomes. Unless you are the sort of person who likes to slip close to the islands for cover (but I don't like to mention them in polite conversation), but there you can't really do much anything with Slava because it's not one of those (too) many MacBBQ ships the game has.

I found the cruiser mains hideout in this current meta.

It's crazy how much the battles change when you get one of those 'joker' MM's. Like in the case of having all DD's missing from the battle. To me this tells something about how bad a job WG has done with intra-class balancing.

Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?

Seems there is some variation. We should hope the gifts are not messed up, but they somehow actually are based on the first battle date.

Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?

Interesting... for me the date shown is the WoT date, not the WoWS date... the explanation might be that I joined during the open Beta.

Profile date is the Wargaming account creation date: This shows the WoWS registration as you said: No idea if there is a record somewhere of the date of the first battle played.

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

The Big Navigator thingy? Yes, I have that, but I have trouble correlating the information it shows with what I see in the binocular view because the indicator and visual sighting don't exactly match. I'm not exactly sure which is providing me with the correct information. In practice, I try to lead both forwards (or backwards as some ship seem to want to go 'astern' instead of 'ahead') and either inward or outward depending on the heading of the target and/if they are turning.
  12. Ironically enough, people have suggested selecting 'Black Hole' as your port as a solution.

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

I use a dynamic crosshair, one of the Nomograms, one with the 30 kn scale above and the 20 kn scale below. Targets either broadsiding or bow on are easier to hit with this, but with angled targets the dimensions seem to be a bit off relative to the scales. I'm trying to mentally create some kind of a 3d representation to get an idea where to aim. Trying to manually track and adjust the target when it makes course changes is a bit challenging. I don't use the 'Force'....

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

Could very well be, I just run into a couple of problems, as is the case usually... My aim is not 100% reliable at all angles, and my ability to gauge the enemy ship speed is not perfect. Add to that the fact that my pings vary between like 40 to 200 or so, depending on server/connection issues so the latency makes it harder to hit as well... it's like the ship is not always where I see it, in other words because very often a salvo aimed at the front turrets ends up hitting the stern (if at all). These problems become more marked as the range increases, of course, which is factor with Slava. As I mentioned earlier, many of the ships I try to shoot also 'blink' in and out because they are not spotted by any of my team mates.

    Depth Charges and it's effectiveness

The depth charges are amongst the finest creations ever done by the Art Department.

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

Citadel armor is 350 mm, same as midships torpedo belt (forward belt is 370). Kremlin has 410 and 430 respectively...

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

I don't know. Could be, it was supposed to be a 'sniper BB' IIRC. I don't see it being any more accurate than the others, though. Possibly not any worse either, but the problem seems to be that you can't effectively use it at those extreme ranges. I seem to recall something about the dispersion being better at certain ranges, but are those ranges the optimal ranges considering the maps and the game mechanics we have.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Last battle, our CV was played by @Excavatus There.. isn't much more to say about that battle. Surprisingly, though, I didn't quite get sunk.

Is Slava worth 63.000 research points?

Personally, I was disappointed with Slava, but that's maybe just me. Haven't tried it out lately, though. Tried it out... the problems were many, the guns are unreliable (IMO) at long ranges, possibly better around 17 to 21 km range. Most of the time you don't see the ships that you want to fire (they blink in and out), but somehow they see you..., and if you do it's tricky to try to lead your shots and hope the target does not mysteriously stop, reverse, or turn on a dime. Or go behind a rock.... I couldn't do much damage as you can see. Doesn't, of course, mean that somebody else could not do better.

They gonna buff them right out of the water?!

what the hell is going on with port nowdays?

Some people select Armory to bypass this issue, or some Port that is easier on the rig. I try to remember to pick Armory when I take a break, but most of the time I forget...

    Subs again, again (sorry)

That's a good idea. In the past, it was tier 7.. and tier 9 which I think were the worst to grind. Especially tier 9, and it's probably even worse now...
